We all remember our favorite pets, items, and trades. Today is a day to remember something bigger – those who served our country and made the ultimate sacrifice to give us our freedom in the United States of America.

We are going to go out to our local cemetary where Daddy is buried and put a small bouquet of red, white and blue flowers that are growing in my garden, and a couple of flags. We’re hoping the VFW picks my dad to honor with a 21 gun salute.

He liked to tell a story about him and some buddies who snuck off during their training to drink a few beers. They took a jeep and drove off into one of the training fields. They figured that at night, no one would know. Only as they were swerving and trying to get back to their barracks, they came over a hill and found night battle training and ended up in the middle of it all with NO headlights. Daddy still says he has NO CLUE how they made it out alive because there were tanks everywhere coming from all directions.

And my mom bought this nasty chocolate cake with like strawberry glaze on it, it may sound good to yal but it looks nasty. NOT worth the 250/ 300 calories for a slice. She got it yesterday. One slice is left. I never ate a slice for health reasons and the fact its not worth wasting my 1400 calories per day.

happy memerial day everyone =) i thank all the people that sadly died for us in protection of our country. I can see the brave faces of men and women and know for sure i could not match one of them. Knowing i would be to scared but they were not. Thank you
