thank goodness I haven’t gotten any pandas yet. I like it when the POTM is a lil’kinz b/c they are less expensive and easier for the kids to talk their parents into getting.

well, this is the first time I won’t get a POTM pet 🙂 I won’t be getting the one for May unless I find a really good deal or some kind of sale. I can’t say I’ve seen the lil spaniel recently tho.

kitkat, I would wait to adopt the poodle. you have until the 30th 🙂 sometimes the new POTM items are up on the last day of the month. Not this time but we might get them later.

I dont think that I have seen it either really maybe that will be one of the ones they are giving away for free no what would be great if they gave away the retireds as gifts. we all know that that will not happen but it is always nice to dream

Yes I had trouble earlier haven’t tried since about 4:30 though because we weren’t home until a few minutes ago. I’ll go check again. The asian account wouldn’t work either this morning.

Hi I am finally back we watched Medium it was a two parter. Waited until both parts aired to watch it. I was not happy with the ending.
K was very excited to see Elmo she was bouncing. I took one of the daycare kids too and both the little ones were shaking his hand and hugging him. Then K asks me when does he come out of the suit. The zippers were a little obvious. Since she wasn’t upset by the observation that must be what she thinks the real Elmo on TV is like too.lol

The kids seem to really enjoy the story Caps for sale so we are gonna do a parade through the school dressed up as the monkeys wearing the caps with one of the boys being the salesman shouting caps for sale its gonna be cute.
We slso been doing a lot of spring related things tomorrow we are gonna make flowers

Yes me too. The librarian just read that book to the kids a couple of weeks ago. I should borrow it and read it to the kids who were at preschool instead of the library. I don’t think K has ever heard it.

I have been playing Candy bash 2 tonight. Did the peppermint boxes always look different from each other for the two different peppermint candies. Because I can tell them apart now and I couldn’t before. I wonder if it is because we have a new bigger monitor.

That is a neat thing for the kids to do dressing up like that. A friend gave us a space shuttle and train costume recently and K and N were putting on a little play for me on Monday wearing them. K likes to make up her own songs. It is cute sometimes they even make sense. I signed her up to do ballet at big sister’s ballet school this summer. She is so excited that she will finally be old enough.

My oldest is gonna be in the talent show with her friends. they are gonna sing Taylor swifts teardrops on my guitar and she wants to do a solo of the wreckers leave the pieces

I got really lucky when S was four she was begging to take ballet and there was a school not that far from our house just across from my doctor’s office so I signed her up for a summer session preballet there and she loved it. This is S’s 5th year in the program. The school is really good. No pressure but she keeps control of the class and she teaches some French, art appreciation, nutrition and anatomy along with the dance.

That is neat she knows how to play the guitar. No one in this house has any musical ability. I should sign K up for some sort of music lessons later on I think she isn’t quite as tone death as the rest of us.

I have eleven POTM items but two of them are lighthouses. I need the lookout, the donut plant, ufo, picture, 8 ball and unicycle. The only ones none of us in the house have are the ufo, cloud and 8 ball.

That’s nice your family did something together after. When my grandmother died in October we had a big family dinner at a restaurant after the funeral it gave us a chance to visit with family and friends we don’t see all the time and share good memories of her.

Hey all! So what did everyone do today? Today was picture day at my lil ones school so that was a lot of fun then we did some grocery shopping and of course picked up some TC. We got two good items although we already have them. After that we picked up my oldest and have been working on here book report all night long

book report, what is that all about?
I took Hailey to playschool, then took Andrew w/me to the gym. worked out till around 10am then headed to the Library for Story Time. Took him to barber shop but too many people in line so left to get Hailey at playschool and picked up my neighbor’s lil girl too. Took them to the bakery for cookies, went to post office. Came home had lunch, play with kiddos. Cook dinner, went ouside and planted grass, then………. while we left our garage door open a bird flew in and got inside the house. We had to chace him down. finally got him in the bathroom with doors closed. Opened the windows and finally he went out. while doing that we realized the windows were very dirty and decided to clean the ones in the bathroom…..that took a while. 2 down 30more to go lol

I took the chicken out (it’s tenderloins not the chicken breast), I’ll have to stop by the grocery store tomorrow and get the taco seasoning. I think I have the rest of the stuff.

oh no no no. the low fat is just fine. We’re trying to incorporate more veggies into our meals, hard to do when the kids won’t eat them.
I cooked lettuce wraps today and in the meat mixture I added chopped cabbage. They liked that, I normally do it with ground turkey but didn’t have any.

My daughter was asking me when I could make it agin so I picke up some more ingredients today:) to make it Friday She is in a Talent show on Friday and Saturday so that will help out a lot
It is even I think better it after it is cooked you shredd up the chicken so it all gets coated in the sauce I cook for about 8 hours on low but you could do 4 on high once it is cooked you add the sour cream and mix it all together the sour cream tones down the spice from the taco seasoning and salsa

Preschool graduation thats cute our school doesn’t do that.
I need to give the girl scout troop leader a recipe for a book they are making. Something S’s likes and it is giving me fits I don’t cook from recipes much and when I do use one I change half of it. I have no idea what most of the amounts are and I cook servings for about 10. I might just have to give them the cowboy spaghetti one.

tmt, servings for 10? wow that’s a lot. My sister laughs at me when I tell her I cook about 1cup of rice for us (2adults 2kids). She cooks 3cups for same amount of people.
I don’t like to follow complicated recipes, I like the simple ones with just a few ingredients.
I’m getting hungry just thinking about that chicken recipe 🙂

I am not to big on a lot of left overs I enjoy the cooking I find it as my escape

I guess if the kids were happy or excited at meal times then I would put more into the cooking but everytime (doesn’t matter what it is) they take forever to eat and make excuses.

Hello all. The store I wanted to go for the webkinz kids event changed the activies. They are cruddy now! This is really disappointing! At first they were going to do new activivties every 30 minutes

On the day I did it there was 2 in another richer city with calenders and one looked really good! And today 3 stores in my city (Hallmarks) were added on.

Naki, I’m sure he understand. When my mom passed away I had a different reaction from my sister. Everyone kept going to her to console her as she was crying a lot. I was trying to keep strong and didn’t want people to see me cry, almost like I had a wall around me (later on I learned that affected me…….and should have let it out and cry) So it’s okay to cry.

I worked at pizza hut for about 3 months right before I went to nursing school years ago and I’d make pizza with tons of bacon on it, but instead of pizza sauce I used ranch dressing then after it was cooked I’d cover it with fresh lettuce and tomato, it was so good! Then after I quit I’d call and they would still make it for me!

Yep, lots of rain. I still hear it hitting the window sills. I don’t hear much talk about the drought anymore. We had well water so all of the restrictions didn’t really apply to us, but they seemed to be really bad for all of those on city and county water.

My dad was always the same way. It was rare that he went shopping with me or on vacations–but it was always great. He bought and never really questioned. He was just always so busy–he still is. It’s funny because it is the opposite for my kids. Their dad doesn’t do much buying. I’m always the one to buy. It’s just too much fun. I am trying to slow down though. I have come to realize that buying all the time isn’t good for anyone.

I played basketball in highschool. I loved it. I know sports aren’t for everyone though. I also really enjoyed running. We didn’t have a track team though so I ran when it wasn’t basketball season to stay in shape. I don’t even think that I could run a mile now! LOL

I had great music teachers I loved art also my daughter will be in chorus I am not sure if she will want to be in the band she is learning the guitar and that is not one of the instruments for the band 🙁 she has trouble with art and easily gives up on even trying she is a book smart person and does great with school work but a lil bit of a perfectionist

Well I told her I dropped some grades. I had all A’s last quarter but this one so far of my knowledge I have 3 B’s 3 A’s. I got a 50 on a SS project, but my group didn’t want to do anything. Plus I made a stinky report about it and got a 64. But my other 2 group members didn’t turn it in. I got an 86. I’m not doing well in SS now.

Well If you feel uncomfortable with someone the first thing you should do is let your parents know what is happening before you do anything Always tell an adult no matter who it is making you feel uncomfortable. If you try and tell her and it seems like she is not listening then try to talk with your school counselor and he/she will contact your parents. Just let her know you were not trying to be rude to this person but that you feel this perosn is a lil too friendly and it makes you feel uneasy

Just tell her you are sorry you did not mean to be rude to anyone but that you jjust felt a lil uncomfortable around that person because he is a lil to friendly and it makes you feel uncomfortable, Hopefully that will get through to her and she will understand what was going on through your mind and why you may have acted the way you did or said the things you said. Once she knows the reason behind the situation then that should make you the priority being you are her child and you should always come first

I used winkster22 because my first webbie was a black cat that I named after a cat that I had for many years that died with cancer in 2003. Her name was Winky. She was my child long before I had children. I went through a lot with her. She had surgery and started on chemo at the state vet school before I decided that it was cruel to go on. I’m heading to bed. I ‘m sorry I didn’t get to post much tonight was trying to take inventory of the webkinz stuff while watching CSI.
We had pork chops, corn and green beans for dinner. it was good lol
I finished putting the mulch out on the front of the house, we still have 3 beds to put mulch on and then side of the house. Have to put more hay out too.
I need to go grocery shopping tomorrow and plan the meals for the week. Malaika I need your help on that 🙂 I will try to get the taco seasoning tomorrow.

Hi All!! How was everyones day? Mine was great. We had fun at the school, then we had a fire drill.
I made chicken and rice for dinner. It came out really good. Kids goobled it right up.
After dinner we raced to the school because I had CPR Training today. We had a really good instructor so it made the class go by quickly. Tomorrow is a literacy fair. So that should be fun.
Now I juust need to do the first aid training next week and all my certifacations will all be caught up to date. 🙂

I’ve not been able to get on webkinz from my desk top. I can use the laptop and it’s fine. Hubby said he was going to fix it today but didnt’ have time.
We’re still working on the yard. A whole truck load of hay that has to be put out. Have all the side of the house to do, on top of that the back of the yard didn’t get mowed…………so busy time for me 🙂
I’ve been checking for updates but haven’t seen many yet. Other than new POTM items coming out on the 16th.

I got bumped off again. First yes it is warmer here the girls have been in short sleeve shirts all week and sometimes during the day you don’t even need a coat. Rained today and the humidity is high. K saw her first rainbow this evening.
I got one banana.
No the new webkinz aren’t in our stores yet. Looked a couple of places this week. No new clothes either. The stores are hoping to have them by the extravaganza. We would have waited until that weekend anyway to buy the webkinz. I was hoping to find the tuxedo.

I spend time four days a week hauling my daughters to classes so I guess I spend too much time doing that but K won’t have gymnastics or preschool during the summer. The only thing she will be doing is tagging along to Tae Kwon Do on Saturdays which she only sort of likes. I am trying to talk S in to just doing softball and art.

We bought the dvd for Enchanted a couple of weeks ago. We enjoyed it but it didn’t quite live up to the advertisements. Just bought Alvin and the Chipmonks but we haven’t watched it yet.

Alvin and the Chipmunks was cute but it had a few things in there I wish they would have left out for a kid’s movie. Best Buy had the Bee Movie on sale for 12.99 so we bought that a few weeks ago. It was cute. The boys seemed to like it.

We got the bee movie too because we really liked it at the theater. It was only K’s second trip to the movies so I thought she would want it. TMT–We took our 4 yr old to see it along with our 8 yr old. I think most of the things I thought were not appropriate were over their heads. It has been a while since we saw it but I remember feeling a little uncomfortable with a few things, especially with our 8 yr old because he understands so much more.
I was really surprised at just how clean Nim’s Island was. I was quite pleased about that. It seems like every movie has to have things in them. I don’t understand having questionable language or suggestive things in kids movies.

I got a book yesterday by this author I really like and a few years ago he moved from Michigan to Russia and he had a picture of this house he is building on the cover. It looks like a small castle. You have to wonder what his Russian neighbors are thinking about the crazy American.

I know she doesn’t know because I offered to tell her. Figuring at 9 and being in a class with 4th graders it might come up and she told me she didn’t want to know yet. She knows the basics just not the specifics she was five when Kate was born after all. The things the neighborhood kids told me and half of it wrong. I was very confused for a couple of years.

I worked some overtime this morning, however, I feel like I didn’t make much of a dent in the piles at my desk then I took the boys to see two of their cousins today. They had a great time playing. It just keeps getting easier the older they get. We can actually enjoy some adult conversation while they play. 🙂

Oh no, poor googles! 😆 Our oldest cat, Henry, got up into my son’s room last week and got his beta fish. I heard something fall from the dresser and I ran up stairs only to find the fish on the floor with the cat standing over him. 🙁 I think dogs and cats will try to eat anything.

Hi all so what has everyone been up to? I went to bed early last night I think some of these late nights are starting to catch up with me. Hopefully I will be awake enough to come on here when everyone else is.
Today I did some shopping Kohls was having their special sales for their card holders so I got a lot of great deals only had one hour to shop so I think I will be going back there tomorrow since the sale is still going on through tomorrow.
Dinner was nothing really special just what ever was left over I think tomorrow will be either meatloaf or something like that. I have a nice recipe for Enchiladas but my oldest is kinda funny. She loves all types of beans but she is not a big fan of them when they are mashed up. I was also thinking about maybe making pork of chicken lo mein. I will just have to see what kind of mood I am in in the morning and decide than.

Hi Malaika, I just got in from cleaning up the kitchen after our country style steak, sweet peas, carrots and rice dinner.
that’s what we might have tomorrow too…the meatloaf 🙂 but Tuesday’s are also family night at chic-fil-a and the kids have fun there. They normally have some games for the kids and a little treat bag so it’s dinner and entertainment.
I’ve not been much on the computer lately, I’ve been doing a lot to the house (cleaning). I should be on tonight.

welcome! ya, I LOVE giveaways, and comment contests are my favorite type of contests! and I think the lil kinz mouse is the best choice because
1) it’s a lil kinz cuz so it’ll be less expensive
2) I LOVE the lil kinz mouse, and both guys and girls should like it, but like a lizard is MORE guyish….not saying that gals don’t like it, cuz i do, but that the mouse is more in the center, while the lizard leans toward the guy side, if ya know what I mean. 😀

We went to the museum at Greenfield village again today. The theme was quilts because they have a traveling quilt exhibit there this month. The kids had to go around the museum collecting paper shapes to decorate a paper quilt square. I think they are getting a chocolate exhibit sometime this summer. The kids will like that.

We are going to see Sponge Bob at Big Boy tomorrow night. I am sure I am sending mixed messages with this one. I keep telling them not to watch the show because it is inappropriate for K and just too dumb for S and then I am taking them to see the character. K had never seen the show until just recently but she lisped out sponge bob at 20 months when they had a blow up doll at the party store ( I was very surprised she knew the name and then I remember one the neighbor kids had a favorite shirt with him on it.) and she won a stuffed sponge bob at last year easter egg hunt. Something about a big yellow blob just appeals to her.

Yes our male cat has been diabetic for about two years. He will be 14 in May. We give him insulin shots twice a day.

He hides on us sometimes. It is really frustrating because after a certain point we just have to wait until the next shot time. He tried to take off on me just now but the lure of soft food was just too great. I think he understands “its time to give the cat his shot” because he can be sitting in the middle of the floor and that gets said and he disappears. Either that or he recognizes the sounds of getting the shot ready.

I don’t mind giving him the shots and it is not very expensive but ever since he developed the diabetes he has had bladder control issues. We can’t even let him in the the living room and bedrooms anymore and we had to replace the carpet in the basement with kitchen tile. That part stinks he used to sleep with us.

Sorry Mocha didn’t mean to gross you out. Cats often live to twenty and sometimes as much as 30 years but thats real rare. Mocha I don’t know if they have any or not they got them in today according to the email but it went out earlier today and if it is popular they could be sold out already. We didn’t explain very well after the ninth pet you don’t get a free room anymore you get an extra gift. The 10th, 15th, 20th and so on every fifth are the supper beds and all the others you get the blue box.

Our school system doesn’t use letter grades until 7th grade. Good for her Malakia. S got her report card last week she did good in everything except writing. She can spell the same word three different ways on one page. I am afraid she inherited my gift for spelling, thank goodness for spell check. Although I sometimes even flummox it and have to pick a different word.

In the K-3 classes they do not use letter grades they use a scale saying that they are either above level at level or needs to work in a certain area
from4-6 they will get letter grades and once they are in 7-12 them will get their actual averages as their grades

S’s program uses a different report card than the rest of the school system.
They use numbers 1 to 4. But 4 means above grade level and since they have to test for it they rarely use it. S’s school has Beginning, Developing, Progressing and Proficiency. She gets mostly Proficiency with a couple of Progressings but this last time she got Developing in spelling in writing. I don’t think she got worse it is just she is not getting better. We are reviewing high frequency word with her again. Hopefully it will help this time.
