Hope all is going well during the chaos of the last few days of countdown to Christmas… Heading out shortly to pick up ham/turkeys.. Think if will be less crowded and don’t think they will be any fresher on Saturday..
We are gathering on the Eve… Won’t relax till the kid down the road is home…
I am going to try and stay busy until I receive a text.
dee.. Do you need another trophy ? Still no brown dog plushy … so frustrating..

Good morning! Happy Thursday!
Last day of school for me, hurray! I don’t know why we had to go so late this year … everyone else got out either Monday or Tuesday. We usually get two full weeks, but this year, only eight days. Makes it hard to get everything done before Christmas, but we’ll do our best. 🙂
Had to have an upper wisdom tooth pulled yesterday (only one left now!). I’ve been having a lot of cold sensitivity in the tooth next to it, so she had to pull it to repair the one I want to keep. I think I’m slightly traumatized from it. My lower ones popped right out, but this one took a lot of force. *insert traumatized smiley face*. I’m kind of sad it had to happen right before our big Christmas parties this afternoon, but maybe it will keep me from eating. I still don’t feel like chewing anything, so protein shakes all day. Might help me lose some weight!
Glad to have some new Spree prizes, but I keep forgetting about the Wheel on the mobile app. Thanks for the reminders that some prizes are foods! Saved me.
My boys love their new job. I am so grateful and keep thanking God for how good he has been to them. Definitely some hard times leading up to it, but a good learning experience for all of us.
Off to party! School was a lot more fun when my kids were there, but still at it! LOL!

i do not salt when i cook and even use no sodium baking powder/soda
i would say have your ingredient list ready and just show them, no way should they expect you to accomodate everyone………..

Miracle – happy to hear the boys love the job! are they working at the same place??? that’s pretty cool if so! mom of a soon to be grad here – welcomes all advice or lessons learned!
dee – i have gluten free & non-dairy coming, and i have found a fabulous local bakery that is completely gluten free & non-dairy on their entire menu! everything we have tried has been delicious – whew! ordering today to accommodate

Hello all!
wanted to pop in and wish everyone a happy holiday!
gaga—Well, what got done, is all I can do. I’m trying to be thankful during this season, but all I feel is stressed and anxious. Taking deep breathes and spend my morning snuggling with Stella while I drink my coffee is the highlight of my days. I hate having to leave her for five days and go so far away. Dh had a tickle in his throat yesterday and my first thought was…YAY! We won’t have to go to this all extrovert mob party. I’m not proud of it, but it is what it is. He woke up feeling fine today which I am glad for him. I hope ‘you know who’ down the street gets home safe and sound and you have a wonderful time with your family on Christmas Eve! I love Honey Baked ham!
moms—Thinking of you this season. I know it’s hard. I know you will be kind to yourself and roll with all the ranges of emotions that may pop up. Big hugs to you! Hope you were able to get that nap today!
dee—I know you will enjoy having your dd home!

We are going to the Kentucky mountains and 25 of us are staying in two large cabins. No cell service and wifi was spotty last time. Probably won’t be able to pop in again until we get home.

polish poker
everyone wears a hat and is dealt a card that they put on the hat (where they can not see it). then everyone bets/plays on whether they think their card is higher
there is also two card drop. where everyone gets two cards and just holds them facedown over the pot. you keep your cards if you think you have the highest. you get to look at the cards in this one.
yea. we was poor, so cards were big. gin rummy in the parks as a teenager

The kid from down the road arrived home safely ! So thankful all went well.. He took the highway ( first time ) SO proud of him.. Hopefully will give him some much needed confidence…
April.. Safe travels…I know it must be hard to leave Stella for five days… Will make coming home all that much better ! Try and have some fun.. and that the time goes quickly ! Sounds like much commotion and activities… I am looking forward to Christmas Eve so much.. DN and his wife from CT bringing Jasper and Junebug.. but not staying at my sister’s home as they downsized over the summer and don’t have room. Will probably head over earlier in the day in time to watch the Browns game…
moms..Hopefully you were able to nap ! I fell off my step stool yesterday and hit my head on a table ! Thankfully nothing else injured and got right up and kept going ! I did get a nap … My older sister and bil here at the time… All good today.. Lots to do… Having lunch with my cafeteria friend and her parents.. she texted me several times last night to remind me to bring her gifts ! ( LOL )

Honey Bake Ham has been a tradition in our family as long as I can remember..
My job has always been to pick up the Ham/turkey and usually the line is out the door and winding in the parking lot ! Have spent hours standing in the freezing cold… some years snowy… just to get the ham ! Decided to go early this year..

I haven’t heard that song in a long time, Dee! Now it’s on my brain! 😉 As far as the stockings… I don’t think Santa ever filled my stocking as a married person/mom. We don’t put up stockings anymore, so it is a non-issue. The games you mentioned sound fun! I forgot all about the spoons game! And spades is one of my favorite card games, although the rest of my family prefer poker.

Gaga – You sound busy, too! Good to know that the kid down the road is safe. Glad that you are okay and that you didn’t get hurt from the fall. Tree is up, yet to be decorated. Reminds me of last year when we decorated the tree on Christmas day (last year my dh & I had Covid for half of Dec. so were behind on Christmas prep). This year, my dh was sick for 2 weeks, also (covid test was neg), so I think just a bad cold. Fortunately, I avoided it.
April – It’s too bad that Stella can’t go, too! Who takes care of her when you are away?
Moms – I’m jealous of your bakery assistance! 😉 No menu decided yet, but I know that I will have green beans. That is decided. Ha ha!
I found a recipe for gluten free green bean casserole. Not sure if I will try it this time around though. Just putting a bunch of green beans in a crockpot sounds easier! 😉
Miracle – You definitely need more time off! How crazy things must be for you now! Hope you are able to enjoy the season!

I will be traveling this weekend! So I may not be signing in much, if at all! I will try to visit Ms. Birdy & try to grab Deluxe gift. Player appreciation is on my travel day back….so I hope that I remember. Our family starts arriving on Wednesday, with our celebration next Friday.

our favorite football team won their bowl game tonight – yay! had fun & just cleaned up the worst of the food mess
i picked up a honeybaked ham today with NO LINE – it was crazy – my timing must have been perfect & tomorrow is probably going to be a mess if people waited for Saturday to pick up . . . i got it because i wanted to have honeybaked ham sliders tonight for the football watching & have enough to eat over the weekend
company comes tomorrow for Christmas
mil saw a new ornament i got & wants one, so i might trek back to get her one tomorrow if time allows . . . i have to pick up some food i ordered for the gluten & dairy free guest & such, so i guess we will see when i know their eta . . .

i think the deluxe starts christmas day………because everyone knows how much free time we will have
oh yeah, enroute to nashville airport, a big stone flew into my windshield.
yeah……….not happy……….not as bad as dh described as he said it needed replacement. we shall see. the way he looked when he told me, i figured the whole thing was shattered. just a big nugget missing out of the bottom middle which is good for driving til fixed.
we all made pizzas tonite. dd had broc, corn, sundried tomatoes, red onions and made a cheese out of raw cashews……….she was swooning
