Waiter has not found his pup yet ! Hoping soon but she had no collar when she took off so makes finding her more difficult.
moms… hopefully your weather has settled down and you can get out and enjoy the sunshine although I guess it is pretty hot down your way !
Just starting the new book… couldn’t find a large print edition but will let you know how I like it.
April.. Enjoy your weekend with your family ! I am sure your dog sitter will take very good care of Stella for a few days but I know it is hard to leave her behind ! Thanks for the goodies !

cmpets… Sounds like your job search is very discouraging.. My younger sister ended up going to a temp agency and was placed… She was able to get a permanent position with benefits after she had been there a while…although I have to say that she isn’t super happy there and is looking.. The job was not exactly her field but she needed the money so she is hanging in there but looking.
Topazz.. You don’t mind working from home ? I guess it has been the trend over the past couple of years but I would not be disciplined enough…

As far as national kitty day, I’m a bit tempted by the Snow Soft Kitten…
Family coming in today! Only five staying overnight, but tomorrow will be a small family reunion (25 headcount) out at my b-i-l’s cabin in the woods. Tomorrow will be our last visit with our oldest son, his wife & two of our grandchildren before they head back overseas. Emotionally, a bit difficult for me as we won’t see them for another year and a half or two.

we have not had bfast burritos in a while due to egg prices
and we are making pizzas

gagagee, I love working from home. I am an introvert and being around people is exhausting. When I would teach, I would have 2 or 3 classes with around 30 people each. I would be so tired after work I could barely function. I don’t have to drive to work or get dressed up. I get to work in yoga clothes. I work with kids over zoom and do study hall over zoom too. I still get to help people and it is more one on one. It is also easier to run errands because most of my work hours are flexible.

Topazz, thank you SO much for the new summer clothing line clothing recipes!! Weirdly, the Purple Stripe Flip Flops are not actually showing/available in the Kinzville Outlet, at least for me anyway ??? Luckily, when I realized this, I thought to check the Webkinz mobile app to see if they’d be there, and they were! So, even though it was an extra step to buy them on mobile and then gather all the “ingredients” on Desktop, I was able to make the new Tangerine Maxi Dress and Denim Vest because of you!
cmpets, re: the whole job search thing… I feel you. I need to update my resume so badly, but I don’t know how to make it “right” nowadays. It can’t be too short or too long, it has to follow a specific format, but no one seems to really know exactly what the “correct” format is, it should be professional but you also have to figure out how to make it/yourself stand out, it has to show why you are right for whatever job you are looking for with enough information to prove as much while also being concise… It’s just way too much stress for someone like me who gets overwhelmed SO easily. And then there’s the problem that you are experiencing of where to look for work, what kinds of jobs you want or are qualified to apply to, considerations of the benefits and how well a job/employer will treat you and if it is even worth it take certain jobs when it might turn out to be the a really bad situation that sucks all of the life and joy out of you….. Suffice to say I am currently unemployed with no idea what “I want to do with my life” or how to even begin to figure that out when I feel so clueless and out of touch with it all. And now apparently I have to worry about fake job ads that people post to steal your information?? I was completely unaware that that was a thing until somebody brought it up here!! I wish there was like a definitive guide or resource that “everyone” used instead of ‘maybe this book will have the information I need’ or ‘maybe this website will be helpful.’
Sorry for going off on my own little vent session there….. Topazz, I am in the same boat as you in that I like to help others, but being around people for extended periods of time is so exhausting!! Even just being stuck with my own thoughts and feelings is exhausting most of the time ! It’s part of what makes it so hard for me to keep up here… Though I really do love and appreciate the community here. <3

otter-This is the exact problem, glad it’s not just me. Thanks for sympathizing with me. Hopefully we can both find something we like eventually.
The sun in next is a little creepy. And took me forever to finally see it, but was able to get 3 prizes today.
Repeats on the mayor boxes so far.
And keep forgetting to say that I finished A Million Little Things, they ended it well.
Need a new show. Off to watch a movie tonight.

moms.. Loved your Patchwork Cottage room ! That is one of my favorite cottages along with the Easter Cottages.
The waiter found his pup ! He is thrilled to have her back home… Apparently got a call 3 am on Friday… someone had found her… not sure why they called at such an odd time but apparently the person lived in a questionable area… my friend said that he had two police officers go with him to pick her up… Hopefully he will get them tagged with his phone number.. just in case they should wander again.
Sheba… Enjoy your picnic ! Lots of preparation .. but hopefully weather cooperates and you all have a great time !

Otterkinz… Hope you have success as well in your job search ! I guess that is one advantage to being retired !! In some ways I am happy to be out of the rat race of working and all of the stress that goes along with it …
Topazz… I am basically a home body too ! Don’t do well in crowed places .. not sure why because I never had issues before but usually try and get out each day and since I now have the time I very much enjoy lunch with friends !

Okay, so we define salads as something including vegetables & not just a sugary mix of things – so salads vs. desserts . . .
now, how about bread vs cake? apple bread is not apple cake, but isn’t a lot of what people call “apple bread” really just cake? i saw peach “bread” today which was baked in a loaf pan, but is clearly a dessert – isn’t that more cake than bread???

breads are broken down by yeast breads and sweet breads in my betty crocker cookbook
granted some of the yeast have fruit in them, but they are not desserts.
but that is waaaaaaaay different than you trying to pass of that strawberry thing as a salad moms

Hi, everyone!
Had great weather for our picnic & family gathering!
As far as the food topic…..I call animal crackers “cookies” for lil’ girl. She isn’t allowed to have sweets, but parents are okay with animal crackers.
And as far as salads….My dd made a delicious leafy green salad dressing with cukes & watermelon and za’atar seasoning….not sure what else was in the salad, but it was delicious.
