   today is TUESDAY – July 4th!

   Good Morning !

   Happy 4th of July !

   Most probably a quiet day around here today… Fireworks were last night which I could see out my back window… Not much else going on.

   moms.. Himself was extremely disappointed about not being able to go to Poland.. Travel delays/cancellations totally destroyed the plans but for whatever reason the trip wasn’t meant to happen… He spent so much time planning, anticipating and preparing for the trip that it was quite a let down.
   He is however looking forward to moving into his own apartment in a couple of weeks..” The Village” is ready and willing to help him get moved in and settled. He will have a few weeks before he starts his job in the Chemistry department at OSU. ( TA ) Looking at it as a new chapter in his life … one that brings happiness and success in pursing the next phase of his education.

   dee.. most of my brother’s 4 daughters are vegan as is he but he changed the restaurant to accommodate their restrictions. It all worked out and we enjoyed the visit !

   Sheba… have been concerned about himself’s demeanor … I am attributing some of it to him viewing himself as an ” adult ” !! Not as connected which I am really missing !! Trying my best not to get too paranoid about it and giving him all the space he wants… We’ll see how things go when he gets settled has some extra time.

   April… Enjoy the evening with friends.. How is Stella with fireworks ?
   Heard a discussion about shock vests which are supposed to be comforting to dogs during the fireworks… I was fortunate when I had Kirby… not too bothered by whole thing !

    Good Morning!

    Had a fun, quiet day with DH. He fixed a special meal of salmon, corn & salad. Later, we went exploring and took a short hike along a river. It was a lot of fun.

    I haven’t tried the Mazin’ Hamsters game yet.

    moms… I wasn’t impressed either with Deluxe Wednesday options. Next week Mystery Seed Boxes will be offered. Looking forward to giving them a try.
    Hoping for a few thunderstorms here later on today.. we could use a little rain.
    Wondering what the plans are for Christmas in July !
    I had lunch with one of my friends yesterday… my favorite waiter said that his little dog took off during the fireworks and he is unable to find her… He posted flyers all over his neighborhood… So hoping she finds her way home today .. She has no collar on !

    dee… can’t help you with the fiber phone.. still have a landline with answering machine. Not techy either.

    Sheba… sounds like you had a great day with dh… Do you see any interesting animals on your hike ? Mazin Hamsters is a little tricky… Would be more fun if they offered some prizes as the old Mazin Hamsters did.

    Out to lunch again today… Stopped at the library yesterday to pick up a book that was recommended… Anyone read Beneath a Scarlet Sky ? Apparently based on a true story.

    gaga—We had a good time with friends over. I was tired by the end of the night. Dh stayed outside after everyone left and listened to all the fireworks going off. Couldn’t see anything though so I stayed inside. I’m so thankful Stella is not scared of the fireworks noise. She really doesn’t care much about. Which is so wonderful. It’s awful when you have a pet (or person) that has trouble with all the noise. My friend had one of those thunder shirts for her dog. It didn’t work for him unfortunately. They always had to stay in a hotel on the other side of their city where the noise was minimal and they still had to drug him so he wouldn’t get upset. Hope your bro gets settled there and the right pup comes along for them. Oh no, I hope that waiter finds his dog. I bought the blue star dispenser! haha It was meant to be! Sure, I would love some of the red cookies. I think I can send two blue ones to you today and can send more after I’m back next week. Thanks so much!

    Just popped in to say hello, haven’t read all the way back. Getting ready to head to my bros for the weekend. Middle niece is having her grad party on Sunday. I cannot wait to see my family, but I am dreading this party. It’s a bunch of people I haven’t see in years and a bunch of people I don’t know. I told my SIL I might just hide in my nieces bedroom. She laughed and said she might join me! lol Plus I have to leave Stella with my dog sitter. Whom I trust completely, but I hate being away from her. I’m probably going to wake Dh up at 5am Monday and tell him I’m ready to go home. 🙂

    Won’t be able to send marshmallows for a few days. Hello to everyone!! I have a ton to do today and have a hair appt. in 45 mins. Gotta run. Hope all are well and have a good weekend!

    Hello All

    Also just popping in to say hello. Been in a funk. Probably from applying to so many jobs and not getting them, or hearing back. Lots of people in the same boat, just very discouraging, especially at my age.I am sure it will work out eventually, just taking longer than I had hoped.

    Hope everyone enjoyed the 4th. Quiet here, did watch some of the fireworks. DD just got to Boston for her weekend getaway. Excited to hear how she likes it. They tour Fenway on Sat, which should be really fun.

    Cmpets, I go through the same thing with jobs. You should try flexjobs. There is a fee but it is because they weed out fake jobs that are just looking for your information to sell. I have gotten several jobs from them and they are remote so I get to work from home. I have two part time jobs that I got from the site and several temperary ones.

    I just use the local government site to look for jobs since I already have everything saved there in my profile. Just applied to a second of those yesterday. Forgot about usajobs, will look there too.

    You all are great for offering suggestions, much appreciated. It’s a numbers game, but just gets discouraging. It was the same for dd, she applied to over 30 internships, and as we know, working in a coffee shop. lol
