Going to make a chicken casserole today… need to check into a recipe and see how it goes. ! Hope you won the lottery.. I did have one ticket but no numbers !
moms… I don’t normally play the lottery on a weekly basis but buy a ticket when it is super high ! Do get a couple of scratch offs when I fill up my car.

April… I have previously mentioned Anderson V.. the Wild Thing from the Cava as being one of my all time favorites… I heard on the news yesterday that he was signed by Cavs to be global ambassador ! Very happy for him as he spent a good deal of time here when he was a player and still lives in the area. Now the Cavs will have two people with wild hair ! ( LOL ) Lopez being the other !

Hoping to get together tomorrow for lunch with a few siblings… weather permitting we will visit tomorrow for local burger place… minus sweet brother who is on his way home from GA… Anxious to hear how his trip went. He will be returning to work soon following his surgery ! I think he is really enjoying the time off. I am sure it will be difficult to get settled back into work routine.
Coyotes quiet past two nights which I am thankful for…maybe they have moved on.

Had to turn the HEAT on this morning. Cold snap here for today and tomorrow. Second time since we have been in FL that we have had the air and the heat on within a few days of each other.
Will pop on later to catch up. Off to get ready, we are driving up to the bougie mall in Palm Beach to walk around.
The neighbors have been much better. We saw them out front the other day, so thinking that made them realize someone is staying here, and they have had the music lower.
Hope everyone has a good day. The lotto winner was in Maine, so not us, but happy for whomever it is.

We had company last night for pizza, salad, and a Master Detective game. Lots of fun. Today we are meeting with some friends for lunch. 2 Social events in one week! It is the first time I can remember doing something like that since the 2020. It’s fun, but the introvert in me wants to curl up into a ball and hibernate. Ha ha!

Looked at crock pots today while I was out… There were so many to choose from… was a bit overwhelming… will have to do a little research before I decide… I just need a simple … easy to use crockpot !

i have ordered many 2 person meals cookbooks from my library
realized, really need (for us) four people…..dh eats pretty good and then i can freeze what not if need be………….recipes are adjustable….so let me know when you venture out into the world………
my fave fave fave crockpot (a four quarter) died a few years ago, but me being me, i had a backup six quarter…..
but i loved that crockpot……….it was a holstein cow patterned one
you can go all crazy and get timers and steamers and whatever……but it is what it is

dee – hope the guys are having fun & you are enjoying your cooking & planning, ds & i were watched a few episodes of Alone today on History Channel – i had watched one on the plane & knew he would like it – have you watched that? it’s a survival show where the people are dropped off alone in the wilderness. we started with Season 7 because that’s what i had watched the 1st episode, so i don’t know if they do it different places, but this is in the arctic
gaga – you would think he could take a second to text – i like just the basic crock pots with on/off/warm – i bought a smaller one recently as a backup that wasn’t very expensive

I have two “six quarts” and one “four quart” crock pot, plus a rice cooker and a 6 quart Instant pot. I definitely am more of a crock pot person. It sounds like I like to cook….
Did I mention that I wasn’t feeling well? It seems that “MOMS” knows! I haven’t been feeling 100 %. I actually did a C-test this morning before meeting with friends. Of course, it was neg. But I don’t feel all that great.
I am not familiar with the homestead show.

Good morning! Happy Sunday!
Slowly getting back to the new normal. I went to work Monday, and felt pretty good. Tuesday, not so good, so I took half days Wednesday and Thursday, and took Friday off. And we get Monday off for MLK day, so I’m thankful for yet another day. I was able to work a few hours from home, too, so that helps me feel like I am not too much of a slacker. π I saw the doctor and he pushed back my radiation due to some slow healing on one side. I am grateful for the extra few weeks, as I’m not really ready to bombard myself with all of that before I’m more healed up. Sounds like you had a very similar surgery, Momz! I know I will be glad when it is all said and done, but not so much yet. π
Seeing everyone’s recipes makes me want to make soup now. I made a giant pot of chili the other day. I use ground beef and sausage and stir in a can of refried beans which makes it smooth and creamy. So much comfort food.
I’m looking for those old foods, too, gaga (carnivaloop and chugachoogaloo). I like when they bring back items from the years I was offline. It’s like new stuff for me, and should be easy for them to just recycle. Would love to see them do more of that.

dee.. I take it they don’t make your Holstein cow pattern anymore.. I am sure you must have checked e bay ? Thanks for your good information… One of my mom’s caregivers shopper her a crock pot for ” one ” and it was pretty useless. Couldn’t really put much in it… so that was a lesson learned.

moms.. thank you for the link to Walmart’s crockpot ! I guess my go to place is Meijers.. but will see what Walmart has to offer in store. Storage is a very big issue for me… Limited space and not much counterspace to work with..
My ( political ) sister( eyes rolling up in head ! ) told me yesterday that “They” will be coming for my gas stove so I better use it now ! Love my gas stove ! not that I cook all that much but have had both and prefer the gas stove. I did get a response yesterday from himself… When he does respond

Actually, since we just meet one day a week, we have classes on most holidays (since they often fall on Monday). It is the only day of the week that we can use the facility so we are stuck. I have a guest teacher tomorrow, so my load is 1/2, which is nice.
I’m feeling better after my long afternoon nap! Ready to tackle lesson prep.
Crockpots are a lot of fun to me, especially for soup! But I will sometimes do beans or pot roasts, etc. What I like about it is that I can put everything in there and not have to worry about it burning. I go through spurts with using it, though.
On the Polar Plunge game I usually average between 2-4 KC. LOL! It took me forever, but I finally did it (for NEXT challenge).

i could see where when i worked crazy hours that the programmable might be nice, but i don’t need to complicate a crock pot
my mom had her hair done by the new hair stylist & hates the color so now she wants to go back to her old one – why can’t it be easy that she just gets it done where she lives???? ugh! she’s only had one place where that worked, but it sure would make my life easier . . .
i have not found a new hair stylist that i want to use since we moved – i’ve only tried the one & liked her, but they seem really expensive at $70 for a shampoo & trim or is that just the inflation today???

moms Has your mom tried the stylist at her new place ?? I know she keeps you very busy and should try to be a little more flexible ! I was so fortunate that one of my mom’s caregivers did it all ! Shampoo.. cut.. color and style !
That caregiver was worth her weight in gold…
As far as your own hair… it is hard to find a stylist that you like… mine is just ok.. She also charges 70 dollars for shampoo and barely trim ! Have been considering changing salons as I go every month and my hair never does what I want it to anyway… and since I don’t really go anywhere I am finding it may not be worth the money… she does a nice job with the color and not sure I want to give that up yet ! Also learned by accident yesterday that my younger sister is wanting to take himself’s car as her leased vehicle is over the allotted mileage… Needless to say I was not at all happy and verbalized it
My older sister seemed to know all about it and was never discussed with me. Of coarse I get crickets from himself about anything…Thinking I should have just sold the car !

Awww, you guys! Thank you for the foods. I’ve filed them away in my extensive collection system … I hadn’t even seen those before, so it was nice to add them. Can’t get over the generosity of the Gymbos Webkinz group.
I didn’t finish Next stuff either, dee. I usually just try to get to the diamonds, because I like making new pets. And I don’t want to spend hours playing ant games. They kind of creep me out.
I can’t get into the ww raccoon items at all, especially since we currently have a giant one that climbs across our roof every couple of nights, pulls off the soffit and climbs into the eaves right next to my head where I sleep. We’ve tried sealing it up, and he (probably a she) still figures out a way to get in. My dad says to get a trap, but I just can’t make myself do it, because after you trap them … ??? just can’t … I bought some cayenne pepper to try, so we’ll see.
I read The Rose Code, Momz. Very good, but sad. And recently discovered some old Ellery Queen books, which are good detective reads (New York City setting, 1920’s). Things were so different 100 years ago.
I’m feeling pretty good today, so I’m hoping to get some work done without overdoing it. I’ve really enjoyed watching the Minimal Mom on YouTube, and I want to get started on getting rid of stuff I don’t need. Just haven’t had the energy, but today, maybe … π

Regrettably … I took himself out before he went back to school and transferred the title.. I bought him 6 months of insurance new plates and Weather Tech car mats…. told him that I did not care about the car as long he remained safe and not injured… I also asked him to please leave the Guardian Angel visor clip which I had for 10 years tucked into the console ( out of sight but not out of mind ) and not discard it… ( despite his views on certain things.. eyes rolling up in my head )… I just can’t believe that my sister would even consider taking the car for herself ! I guess so she doesn’t increase the mileage on her car.
What started out as a family luncheon ended up with some harsh words and probably some hard feelings….. I hate to rant but I could have easily sold the car and bought some much needed items for my home…
On a lighter brighter note… I bought a crock pot today ! Took all the suggestions and found a 4 quart , 4 heat setting crockpot.. I can’t wait to try it !

You also do NOT want my opinion on the matter. So I will just stick to saying yay on getting a crock pot. I wonder what size mine is? I need to use it more. But for now it’s packed in the pod, so if you all could make some vegetarian friendly recipes and invite me over or send it, that would be great. Hahaha :))))
Did everyone end up getting the Winterfest items they wanted? I have probably 15 of the snowman side tables if anyone needs one, or five.
And yes, unfortunately $70 seems to be normal for trim now. I thought it was just where I lived, but nope, it’s everywhere now. And color is quite expensive on top of that. But once I find someone I like, I will just stay with them.

i honestly have that barbie hair with the wires that once you twist it, it stays that way

i can do curls just by twisting……….but i have natural curls which is crazy
she always wants to flat iron my hair………..i have done it several times and always get compliments! which is weird to me, as i love my curls!
dd has lovely auburn hair, but she flat irons, dh used to have auburn hair until his wife turned him gray
