moms.. your new post is really cute ! Thanks for all of the reminders !
Hope your migraine is gone. Himself arrived home safely yesterday with my sweet brother… my bil arrived home last night from his visit to CT…I am so hoping that my nephew and his wife decide not to risk travelling today..
So windy this morning and power has gone off once already but just long enough to mess up clocks/TV… Have about an inch of snow overnight..
It is going to be a long day….will try and keep busy so not thinking about all of the people out/traveling.
dee… Grocery store yesterday morning was crazy ! Shelves kinda bare and did not get the bread I normally get but that’s ok.. Just needed a few items and was outta there !
Miracle.. Happy for you to have your kids home for Christmas.. Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers as your surgery approaches. Please keep us posted.
cmpets.. I am glad your dh is recovering.. Try not to stress too much about getting everything done…somehow it always works out. Thought about you the other day when earthquake happened.. glad it did not effect your area.
Sheba… I am sure it was helpful to have some extra time to get ready for the arrival of your family without the ” help” from your granddaughter..

The Browns are playing another Saturday ( Christmas Eve ) Radio is reporting that there are tickets available for 2 dollars ! Stadium is located lakeside and is always a bit windy… can’t imagine what it will be like tomorrow.. not to mention the frigid temperatures… I am looking forward to seeing the Saints play as my favorite former OSU player ( Olave ) is on their team.. We have quite a few sports nuts in our family so I am sure the game will we on…despite being Christmas Eve.

Thinking of you all with the crazy weather and hoping everyone remains safe. Wish I could send you ours. We are supposed to be 70’s next two days. CA is welcoming me home with open arms. 🙂
Running around wasn’t too bad yesterday. Was so nice to be back in familiar territory and know how to get around everywhere without navigation.
DH is out of quarantine. He was done being stuck in a room by himself. Still doing laundry…you know how everything needs to be cleaned. I am sure it’s nice for my MIL to have him finally join us.
Need to run out for just a couple of things today, but have everything we need for next couple of days, so if it’s too crazy, I will go on Monday.
Hopefully I can catch up on WW. Have barely had time for that, and I thinnk I still have codes to enter and boxes to open.

so ya’ll need to be prepared………..cranky gizmos for phones and back up heat sources……….

Mmm, I love Christmas food. My dad was making fudge & buckeyes earlier. A traditional food we have for Christmas & Thanksgiving is corn casserole! I’m so sorry, dee <3 I hope you're doing alright.

we had corn casserole for thanksgiving the past 2 years & everyone has requested that be a tradition now – i make mine in a bigger pan so that it is thin with more crispy edges – that’s how we like it

this year i have only made 3 kinds – a sour cream frosted cookie, “santa’s surprise” cookies that are peanut butter cookies with a snickers mini rolled up in the dough & drizzled with chocolate, & pretzel kisses (snap pretzel with a hershey kiss melted on it & an m&m on top)
i have all of the stuff to make April’s snowball cookies & sprinkle sugar cookies, so i might end up making those at some point for new years or something, but we will see how time goes 🙂

dee… awww so sorry that your dd will not be with you on Christmas Day. It has to be very difficult not to have her to celebrate the day. Lean on us to support you and know that we care about you ! ( hearts ) ! We will help each other get through the rough times. It has been bitter cold here too… have been below zero for past 24 hours… My power went out yesterday for a couple of hours but thankfully not since. Remains very windy with gusts 40-50 mph…
moms… thank you for facilitating the Secret Santa for all of us here on the blog ! Hope your warthogs brought home the necessary items from your grocery list ! Thankfully I did not have to go out of the house yesterday…brutally cold/windy. Not much better today but looking forward to celebrating the Eve with my family. I am happy to say that my nephew and his wife and two dogs arrived safely last night around midnight ! It was a very long day worrying about them on the road from CT ! I heard that there was a 50 car pileup on OH turnpike with one fatality… How tragic for some poor family… The family that himself has been staying with when he is home ALL have Covid… so he would not have gone there anyway.. He is at his mom’s and will have to make the best of apartment living ! Sweet brother will be joining the rest of us this year .. so happy to have him !

April… Hope Stella is back to feeling like herself ! I think I have mentioned before but I am glad you don’t need to travel.. especially in this weather !
Planning on the game today ! Right in the middle of dinner time but I am sure it will be on in the house ! I know my older sister is so relieved to have her husband and kids home from CT… She is not thrilled about the dogs as her kitty goes into hiding ! I am hearing that Jasper is quite mellow and well behaved… his sister June is the opposite ! They are 8 months old now and anxious to meet June ! ( and of coarse see my nephew and his wife ) (LOL)
They will be visiting till Wednesday as her family is here too !
Sheba… How are you holding up ? I know you must be very busy getting ready for you family ! Lots of preparations to get house/meals organized..
but I am sure worth all your efforts !

gaga—Glad to hear your family all arrived safe and sound. Stella has been loving her new food. Eating like a little piglet. 🙂 She loves the chicken and noodles we made her and the canned food from the vet. She is 100% and completely back to her happy self. So so happy, thankful and relieved. We are glad we decided to stay home too. We didn’t get a big storm in terms of snow fall (only 4 inches or so) but with the blowing and dangerous temps we decided to wait. I’m so excited to get to stay home for Christmas, we rarely get to enjoy that. Hope the Browns do well today and you have a wonderful time with your family. So fun to get to meet Jasper’s sister June.
moms—Hope you are feeling better. Not gonna lie, I’ve thought about having a bowl of her chicken and noodles. LOL Hope the kids came home from the store with something you can make. 🙂 Thank you so much for all the hard work you put into the blog. Secret Santakinz- Thank you Thank you Thank you to Moms and to all of the Elves who make this happen each year. Your generosity is very much appreciated. You are all so sweet and good to us, and this blog has the best group of people hands down. Now, just need to make time to open my lovely gifts.
I hope all of you are able to stay in where the weather has been crazy. There were icicles on dd’s campus, very cool to see the photos, and would be neat in person, but happy we are over here in the 70’s. Sister’s car was stuck in driveway and the other in a ditch when her dh was driving home, so need to go check in and get an update on that.
dee- I would/will be a mess if dd is not with me to celebrate, so you are more than entitled to be sad. We all send you love and extra hugs.

I just wanted to stop back and say a BIG thank you all who donate/help with Secret Santakinz! Got another email from moms with a little gift from Secret Santakinz that brightened my day. ???? I really don’t feel like I should have been included since I have not been commenting here on the blog much at all this past year, but I really appreciate it. ?? And I really appreciate all of you for being so warm in welcoming me back after such a long time. moms, gaga, QOS, april, everyone… ??????
Holidays are usually not very fun for me because they are always just so stressful (among other reasons)… But just after midnight we opened one present each here and my brother, his significant other, and their cat opened their presents around the same time, and our little family text chain was just blowing up with back and forth messages, pictures, and videos. Such a simple thing, but so special to me. ????
I hope everyone here–regardless of whether you are able to physically see family and friends today or how you choose to spend the day–is surrounded by love and small moments that remind you of happy memories long since past and that give you hope for the future. ????

Celebrated with my family yesterday.. I had a great time and will treasure the memories of us being together. The two dogs of CT are definitely a handfull and particularly Junebug who nearly knocked me over a couple of times due to her jumping… She needs to go to some classes to learn some puppy etiquette ! (LOL).. Jasper on the other hand is so mellow and gentle. It is hard to believe they are from the same litter.
I have to say that by the end of the evening I was ready to head home !

April.. As you probably know already.. The Browns lost and Olave is injured so I wasn’t able to see him play ! Haven’t checked all of yesterdays scores yet but hope the Lions won.
