Good Morning All !
moms.. weather is definitely a worry ! Single digit temps expected Friday and over the weekend… More concerned about the snow and the travelers who are leaving on Friday from CT.. my nephew and his wife and their two dogs..10-11 hour drive on a good day… My b-i-l is still in CT as well helping with a construction project… Not sure when he will start back .. but I have already started worrying about all those who must travel… I am in charge of picking up Honey Baked Ham and Turkeys… The line is always very long and outside !
I am rethinking … may pick them up on Thursday. Somehow that has always been my ” job” which I don’t mind except when temps are single digits ( LOL)
I heard from himself again yesterday after the hearings ! Very chatty ! My sweet brother will go and pick him up on Friday… take him to his mom’s !
He is still complaining about her living arrangements.. as she lives on the eighth floor and he will have to get all his stuff up to her apartment.. I reminded him that there is an elevator ! I have said it before… he is a tricky kid !! I will be so happy to see him and hand over his car ! Maybe that will help…
dee… safe travels to your dd ! Hope your dentist appointment is uneventful.
Happy that you and your dh were able to have a visit… but sorry you have to send her back.

NEXT weekly challenge seems doable…but dreaded sent your pet home from Day Care is once again one of the requirements ! The other challenge is going to be 4th level of Arte’s Adventures…Never was able to get higher than level 3 !….. Cake It Up……….Impossible.

getting a later start than expected, but had to field a phone call first – she wants to change her tv package, drop the channel i just had to make sure she got when she moved LOL, and by the way, she upgraded something last night but doesn’t know what, so could i figure that out & cancel it??? 😆 i still haven’t figured out what it was, so will have to keep an eye out for that surprise . . . now I’m going to clean the kitchen & bake some more

Hello everyone… It’s been a while.
moms sent me an email earlier this month and encouraged me to stop by, so I figured I’d just say hi while I’m finally sitting down doing floaties (haven’t been doing so good with those lately but at least it’s nothing “new”).
I hope everyone has been doing good here. I’ve had moments where I’ve wanted to stop in before, but I just haven’t had the time/energy/motivation for much of anything in a long time. I’ve just been trying to do what I feel like I “have to” and getting by day by day (really, honestly, more like minute to minute).
I miss reading about vegan foods, everybody’s pets, and knowing how everyone is doing….. dee your kitty is so cute by the way!
I have one more floaty and then I am wrapping up for the night, so I guess that’s all I have.

this is a great place for a “pick me up” – friends here have carried me through some of my darkest days
i baked my christmas cookies today that have to be frosted, so it was a loooooong day baking then icing a couple of hundred cookies!
some of the friends were excited to walk in as I was putting the finished cookies in the containers though – they liked them 🙂

moms.. Sounds like your mom keeps you extra busy and a bit challenging … not to mention that you have to be a mind reader to keep up with her ! I am sure you wouldn’t have it any other way.
Our weather sounds very worrisome…I am particularly worried about the travelers… I have decided to go to honey baked tomorrow…Things won’t be any fresher on Friday…I have stood in line every year for many years and dress as warmly as possible… They are always very organized so hopefully all will go smoothly… I have always spent Christmas Day with my mom as my siblings and their families will gather on the Eve… This year… will be home on Christmas Day … all is good.

as mom said this is a great place to come for support when things are touch and overwhelming… So many great people here ( Many Hearts) !

Moms – Sure wish I had your energy level! The cookies sound delicious! The tradition in our home is making Amish Cookies for Christmas. It is a dough that you refrigerated and roll out and make fun shapes! They are also iced. My oldest dd asked for the recipe this year and then asked me if she should double the recipe. Ha ha! One single recipe makes 14-15 dozen. I think she was confused because I had notes on the card for 1/2 of a recipe. She was doing it with some kids and wanted to make sure to have enough. I sure hope she had some leftovers to bring here on Sunday!

Talked to youngest dd and she really wants to decorate the tree on Saturday. It is her favorite thing to do! So I think I will save it for her! We pick them up at the airport on Friday (coming from Spain with her boyfriend). Can’t wait to see them.
I have SO much to do! Watched lil’ girl on Monday for several hours so her mama could shop. Oh, wait. I may have told you that already. I have her tomorrow all day, too. I will save laundry and some cooking for when she is here.
I went grocery shopping yesterday but ran out of steam so I came home with most of the list represented, but I need to go back to do the rest at some point. I’m without a vehicle, though, as my van is in the shop and won’t be ready to pick up until tomorrow. I may attempt the rest of my grocery shopping tomorrow with little girl… Hope to wrap the presents today. I have two more bedrooms to prepare for guests. Still not sure who is staying here.

It be cold here. Twelve degrees with a feels like three. Going to be unreal cold this weekend with the storm.
Before I start this story…Stella is all good now. But she did scare the poo out of me and shaved several years off my life. She started throwing up and other not fun stuff this weekend. Debated on waiting to call our vet Monday morning or take her to the emergency vet on Sunday. We ended up taking her to emergency and then back again Monday morning for more x-rays. They thought she might have gotten hold of something dead in the backyard that made her sick or a piece of a toy that had gotten stuck. Either it passed or there wasn’t anything in there to begin with. Not sure which, but she’s all clear now…( I mean that in every sense of the word.) She’s on a bland diet of boiled chicken and noodles (rice doesn’t agree with her) and some very yummy and very smelly can dog food our vet sent me home with. Finally got some sleep last night and we all feel so much better.
We decided to stay home for christmas and not travel. I haven’t gotten anything done anyway. Nor do I care anymore LOL We rescheduled seeing my family for the first weekend in Jan. Just happy my baby girl is okay and that’s all I need. I will have to go grocery shopping for christmas eve and day dinner but hopefully that won’t be too busy tomorrow morning. Will hopefully get out and back home before the winter storm hits.
gaga—it’s going to be a high of two degrees here Friday. yikes. Stella is already going potty on the deck (which is covered in snow) rather than go out in the yard. She comes right back in and gets in her blankie bed on the couch. I hope you are able to get the ham without standing outside in these temps for too long. When my mom was alive we always got a honey baked ham too. It was her favorite. Oh no, I haven’t even looked at this weeks activities in Next. I can barely make it to level two in Artes Adventures lol. And you are right…cake it up is impossible! I laughed that they thought getting 75 points five times was doable. My high score ever is 68.
dee—Thank you for the tip about logging out and back in for the toy chase! Although I noticed they must have changed the programing because now only 3 or 4 balls fall at one time instead of 10. Your baby kitten is so adorable! Thanks for the pictures. I could curl right up on that pretty blanket and take a big nap.
moms—Sent you an email. I skimmed back and saw all your beautiful trees!!! I love them all. Thanks for sharing.
LL—Sorry the cookies didn’t turn out quite right. Not sure the texture would be the same without a mixer, but glad they at least held together for you. I totally forgot to say I usually get a big tin or tupperware tub that I’m going to store them in and put a layer of powder suger in that and then roll the cookies in there and keep them in the same tub. That way all the powered sugar stays in one container.

April… I am so sorry that Stella was really sick last weekend.. Very scary for you.. Happy that she is recovering and special diet will help her digestion..
Best Christmas gift… Health and Happiness ! It is great that you don’t need to travel for the Holiday… Weather sounding so dreadful…I have stopped watching the weather as it is making me too nervous ! Won’t relax until himself is home as well and my bil nephew and his wife who are leaving CT tomorrow ! ( and two big pups ) No stopping them however. I decided to drive by Honey Baked after running a few errands yesterday… NO line outside so I stopped.. Parking lot full but was able to get ham/turkeys… Next is the sticky buns from bakery which I am supposed pick up tomorrow morning..
Will call them when they open to see if I can come today… we’ll see.
Had breakfast with my best friend of 50 years yesterday… just lost her husband two months ago and she is still grieving … So difficult for her.. and she is overwhelmed… So much sadness for so many people…
moms…So sorry you have a migraine ! Nothing worse.. Hope you are feeling better this morning ! I sure hope you don’t get those very often !
Maybe today you can try and relax and not have a mile long to do list !

Good morning! Happy Thursday!
Just a quick hello! We are finally off school … whew! The end of the year is so busy. I am glad to have a few days home before Christmas. My surgery is coming up soon, so keep me in your prayers, and I’ll try to keep you all posted when it’s all said and done. Different kind of Christmas for me this year! I am happy just to have the kids all home for a while.
Thanks for the logging out and back in tip, dee. I wasn’t seeing any of the holiday toy chase until I tried that.

What day is it? At this point it’s all a blur. Saying a quick hello before I go finish up Christmas shopping. Not having access to the rental car for almost a week set us back with the shopping, but finally got added on beginning of this week. DH is slowly getting better, taking him a little longer to bounce back. I had no time when I had it, had to pack and move. LOL Nice to hear from all of you popping in. Will try to catch up on here later. Been a busy week, but all good here.

Finished grocery shopping today! Whew! Lil’ girl didn’t come today as she wasn’t feeling well (cold). So I got more done than anticipated, but I have a lot more to go before my son & his girlfriend arrive tomorrow afternoon. In the evening we travel to the airport. My dh was a bit grumpy tonight about it due to the weather forecast. Winds possibly up to 40 mph. He told me to pack blankets and food in case we get stranded. SO….I looked up the forecast and that prediction is for the daytime. By night the winds should be between 10-20 mph. Not as dismal as 40 mph. But it may be wet and icy and that is always the challenge as temperatures fall. We will be traveling at night.

Dee – Looks like a very rich and creamy recipe! And hamburger buns could come in handy. The only thing I had trouble finding at the store today was the type of bread that I like. They had buy one get one free. So I bought one, but there wasn’t another one to get for free. I know that I could have probably asked for a raincheck, but I just wanted to get home. It was pouring down rain when I got out of the store.
Gaga – Sorry to hear about the loss of your best friend’s DH. It was nice that you could offer support by meeting with her.
