To all who wanted an update on the cookies!
I went ahead and made the snowball chocolate chip cookies today. Overall they turned out good. I didn’t use an electric mixer as I don’t have one and the dough turned out very crumbly. So I just packed it into a ball real good before baking them in the oven and to my surprise they held their shape. Rolling it in powdered sugar afterwards caused a bit of a mess to store. I only ended up getting about 24 cookies out of this recipe.

moms.. I agree with trying not to stress too much during the holiday ! Enjoy the time with your family and friends ! The holidays are busy enough so don’t sweat the small stuff. Are you planning on sending a few pictures of your trees ?
I would love to see them… Were you able to catch any of the football games yesterday ? Very happy for the Browns win but felt so badly for the kicker..he had a pretty rough day ! I think the Ravens kicker had a rough one too !
dee… It is pretty amazing that kids are going out later in the evening ! I am also ” jammied” up (LOL ) by that time… My family knows not to even attempt to call that late as I am not very chatty at that hour !
Making a pot roast today… how about you ?
Sheba… happy you were able to spend some extra time with your granddaughter… unfortunate you son had car issues… Hope you stick with your original traditional dinner… sounds delicious !

My nephew in CT has Covid and sent me a text that he finally tested negative yesterday and is feeling good… My bil decided to go help with a construction project… He has been there one week but since my sister and he are hosting Christmas Eve he has been told to be home by the 23d ! So we will see…
He desperately wants to bring home the “foster dog” my nephew had who apparently has be in three different home and returned to shelter each time..
My sister not in favor… She says no more dogs !
April… I don’t blame Stella ! Cold weather really not for me either…
Take moms advice… don’t stress too much about what you are unable to get finished ! Enjoy the season ! I hope your dh is feeling better !
Really enjoyed the first two games yesterday but opted not to watch the third one…

Gaga- I thought about making another batch to give everyone a few extras since they feel small but ultimately decided against it. I had enough to try a few myself and the agreed upon amount for everyone. I’m looking forward to see what others bring tomorrow!

gaga – i watched football today, another stinker from the falcons – the dallas vs jaguars game had an exciting ending, though
dee – keeping up with the young people’s hours is taking a toll on me! i finally went to bed before them last night and am dragging today anyway – this house seems to be running on all hours right now – there were people eating at 1:30 am & again in the 4 am hour – i just can’t keep up with them 😆

dd leaves tuesday………two nerdies are having fun….we found a bunch of dvd type computer games so dh got out our seriously old computer and they have it up and running! zoo tycoon, barbies sea adventure, peggle etc

random question – i am hung up on my webkinz being able to use the doors on the rooms – is anyone else like this?
do ya’ll just decorate without regard to the doors & jump on the map, or do you decorate to keep the doors functional?

I decorate usually without a door on either of the “wall” sides. Then later I buy more rooms thus creating doors on those walls. When I come back to the room later I usually get a “This item has been removed from the wall and placed back in your dock message”
But in general I completely ignore any and all doors when designing rooms. I jump map to every room even if they are right next to each other.

dee-Thanks for the recipe. I will have to try it. We usually do mushrooms, trying a little different recipe this year. DD does not love everything being so rich, so if they come out good, will let you all know.
moms-Love the trees. Thanks for posting the photos.
For me, I try to leave the walls to decorate, but depends on the room. Mostly I decorate around the doors, but sometimes I place a large object to cover them up if I need the space.
Dh is doing okay. The rest of us managed to avoid it-again, so at least there’s that. Definitely throwing a wrench in some of our plans, but we will adapt and make it work.

moms… thank you for posting the pictures of your Christmas tree ! Love them but my favorite has to be the one with your new gnome with the black and white theme ! So cute… My other favorite is the tree with the white lights which is the first picture you posted. Your home is beautiful and so festive ! Sounds like your boys are keeping you busy ! Maybe you can catch a nap during the day !
Watched a couple of the games yesterday… Happy for Bengals… and the Minnesota was so exciting ! No word on when himself is going to decide when to come home.. Crickets from my text….( rolling my eyes )
dee.. I feel badly that your dd is leaving to go back on Tuesday.. Sure did seem like it went so quickly.. I am sure it did your heart good to hear all the cackling and watching them have fun !

April… Although the Lions game was not televised here I was hearing how they have really turned things around and are doing do well !
I am also hearing we are all in for an arctic blast !! Predicting single digit temperatures and ? significant snowfall… My nephew and his wife and two dogs with be travelling from CT on Friday as well as my bil who is there to help them with a construction project !! I am already worrying about them travelling so far with potential poor road conditions… I am hearing that my bil is so hoping to see a bear while he is there….( apparently kids property backs up to the woods and have seen bears often !
Making my to do list for today… Should be a good day… Hope to get an early start and finish up a couple of last minute items which I could not find yesterday !
Planning on lunch tomorrow with one of my work friends…OG of coarse.. Her favorite too …
NEXT players… Can’t believe the dreaded Cake it Up game is once again part of the Season Challenge… I think they do it on purpose ( LOL )

stinkin quiet in here today!
we are gonna get a big freeze thurs nite thru christmas so far
dd flies out tomorrow after noon, i have dental in the morning (just a cleaning) and i need to hit kroger to prep for christmas before everyone freaks out around here with the potential for snow…………
and new next tomorrow……………cutie pie pjams in classic today with the bird!

Cookie exchange was a success! For the most part everyone liked my cookies even though some said they were really sweet. There were some really good cookies from others too, mostly sugar cookies but each unique. It was hard to not eat too many lol

ll – glad it went well!
i started some baking today – made the kisses pretzels with m&ms & the santa’s surprise cookies with mini snickers – guess i was in a chocolate mood (always!) sometimes i make the santa’s surprise with sugar cookies instead of peanut butter, but i used peanut butter dough this year
now i gotta do some quick log ins to get the ms. birdy pj tops!!!
