Good Morning All !
April.. can’t wait to see Stella’s picture ! Text last night from my coworker that my ” work husband’s ” Golden had to be euthanized yesterday unexpectedly for cancer that was found yesterday… feel so badly as his dog was a therapy dog who came to the hospital to visit patients.. and of coarse he always stop to visit all of us too. We all know how difficult it is to make that decision and lose a beloved pet… On a lighter note… heard that Baker was picked up by ? Rams yesterday… always liked Baker so I am happy someone picked him up !
moms.. Chocolate chip cookies are delicious all year round ! They are my favorite and still waiting for a batch from himself from last year… but that’s ok.. I know he is busy !
Another suggestion for the mouse…. Lucy Fur ! as they are pesky varmints !!
Topaz… It’s nice that you drop in and comment… !! It so nice that people feel welcomed enough to stop in !

I have recently heard coyotes around here at night but thankfully have not actually seen one during the day… That video was a terrifying…
Busy day here today… lunch in the cafeteria…with friends… and having dinner tonight with some ER friends ! Hoping to see a couple of the ER docs who were always so nice to work with and bring back so many great memories.
Need to finish up some shopping as well but seems like most of the stores open much later than in the past… even during the holidays. I like to shop before the stores get crowded !

made peanut butter and choc chip
lately when i have been making cookies, i do a double batch and freeze half the dough, so it is like slice and bake cookies
dh is leaving sunday to pick up his venison, so we are organizing a freezer tomorrow……….my t rex arms can not reach to the bottom!
i have loads of chips moms! what kind do you want? butterscotch? milk choc, dark choc, cinnamon…………heath bar ones……….them are good in choc chip cookies

All this is really making me crave cookies. I have a tiny piece of peppermint bark which will have to suffice. This is the hardest month to not eat tons of sweets, but my body does not process sugar well anymore, so I have to pick and choose carefully.
I went back and saw the Original post, crazy this blog is 15 years old. I like that comment-we are wiser and experienced. 🙂

April… Anxious for the picture of Stella to appear… Had a great time at dinner last evening ! The food was really delicious but felt so badly for the waitress as it was her first day ! There were seven of us so I think she was overwhelmed.. The restaurant was crowed and seemed a bit understaffed as well… My only regret was that we did not think to get a picture of the group.. who knows if it will happen again…
Hope to finish up Christmas shopping today… making my to do list…
Planning on family luncheon on Sunday before my niece heads back to Seattle. She still has lots of friends in the area and has been busy all week and hopefully enjoying her visit.

moms—I’m so glad I could share and make your day! I did the same thing the other day…started going through cookie books and started to plan out the stuff I want to make this year. lol That pic of your fur babies is adorable!!! So cute! We don’t usually make traditional chocolate chip cookies for christmas, but we do make chocolate chip snowball cookies. I think they are like the ones you were asking about, but they do not have any pecans or walnuts…just mini chocolate chips. They are really good. Will post the recipe if you like.
sheba—Oh no, so sorry you are sick. That’s miserable. I hope you start to feel better soon.
gaga—Your dinner out sounded really fun. I’m always in for delicious food. 🙂 That poor server. I tried being a server for a short time in college, I didn’t last very long! lol That’s a bummer you didn’t get a group picture. Hopefully you can all get together again. That is terrible and sad about your ‘work husband’s’ golden…it’s one of the hardest things to do. It really isn’t fair what a short time we have with them. Very curious to see if Baker plays tonight. April.. Oh my gosh her facial expression is priceless ! ( as if to say … Really mom another picture ? Her ears are so darling ! Thanks for sharing her picture with us… For some reason I couldn’t find the LA game on TV last night but was just reading Baker threw game winning TD in the final 10 seconds of the game ! I am really happy for him…Hope his new team appreciates him !

Wish I was done with the Next Season. I usually finish on the last day, and only go back and do the games if I have to.
The LA game was a great ending, better for me as you all know I am a LA fan. It has been an awful season especially considering we won the Superbowl, so it was nice to see them enjoying the win last night.
qos-Sorry you are dealing with that. It is not a process you can rush unfortunately. Just rest and fluids to try and combat the sluggishness. Sending you healing thoughts and a hug.

Woke up to winter wonderland. Got maybe an inch of snow today. It's that sloppy wet stuff. Already melting.
moms—Thanks! Stellalala…LOL too cute. I kiss her on her noggin all the time. I usually get several sloppy kisses in return. 🙂 I'll post the recipe at the end of my post. I love that expression…eeyore! I love having eeyore days. Snuggled up on the couch with my baby, having some coffee or tea. Reading or binge watching something. gaga—Thanks! the Thursday night games are on amazon prime now. I don't like it. I have amazon prime but it just feels weird to go there for football games. I watched Baker make that drive down the field at the end of the game. It was really exciting and listening to the announcers freak out was funny too. So happy for him. I hope it works out for him in LA too.
sheba—Hope you are starting to feel a little better. Try and take it easy. I felt so exhausted after covid. Took a few weeks before I felt recovered.
cmpets—It was so fun to see the rams enjoy that win. I was so happy for Matt Stafford to finally be on a good team and win a super bowl. With all their injuries this season it's hard for them to compete. Looks like Baker can bring some much needed help.

Chocolate Chip Snowball Cookies
Ingredients
1 cup unsalted butter softened
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 1/4 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup mini chocolate chips
Additional powdered sugar for rolling
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F. Line two cookie sheets with parchment paper.
Mix butter, 1/2 cup powdered sugar, and vanilla with an electric mixer until fluffy. Add flour and salt and mix until the dough comes together. Stir in the chocolate chips. If dough is too soft, chill it until you can work it easily with your hands.
Scoop 1 tablespoon balls of dough and place on prepared cookie sheet.
Bake cookies for 7-10 minutes until bottoms are just slightly brown. Remove from oven and cool for just a minute, until you can handle them. Fill a small bowl with powdered sugar and roll each cookie in the sugar until coated. Place on a rack to cool. (Once cookies are cooled, you may want to re-roll them in more powdered sugar.)

That cookie recipe looks good, might have to give it a try. We are doing a cookie exchange at work and I was just gonna stick with regular chocolate chip cookies but those add the perfect Christmas touch.

Actually about to walk down to the bar here where we are staying. Having a drink with one of the girls who works here to say goodbye since she is off this weekend and we leave Sunday morning. The staff here is awesome. We always seem to make friends with the workers each place we go (when they have on site staff). This one we exchanged cell numbers with so we can keep in touch.
The permanent residents here are great too. And you should see all of the Christmas decorations they put up. There are over a dozen trees all decorated with a different theme.

Felt a bit better today.
I enjoyed all the Christmas banter. Can’t give much advice in the drink or baking category (well…maybe the baking, but…not really my thing).
My youngest son is dating a gal right now and she loves to bake! I have been tempted to ask for recipes but not sure whether I’d make them.
