Good morning, all! Happy Sunday!
It’s been ages since I wrote an update … I’m sorry! I catch up on the blog each weekend, but then run out of time to write. I know it’s kind of a weird “friendship” … I feel like I know all of you so well, but I don’t share enough for you all to know me. So, now that I have a few minutes, I’ll probably overshare … LOL
My prayers are with you, Chant. I can relate a little … was just diagnosed with br cancer (very tiny, but a little complicated), but the prognosis is good, so I’m just taking it one day at a time. And I just had a nerve study done on my hands and feet (carpal tunnel and planter fasciitis), so waiting to hear about that. I’ll remember to pray for you whenever I pray for myself, which is often! Keep us posted, and hang in there! I love hearing how you are pushing through and getting back some normalcy. So much of how our days go is in our mind. Keeping thoughts on things that are good makes such a difference for me!
I have been keeping busy on my Webkinz account … still do my 30 minutes in the morning (trying to keep up with both classic and next). But I didn’t do well getting all of the election gifts, so I may be begging for some trades before it’s all over (didn’t receive the campaign signs for Dr. Quack or Nibbs, but then got 4 for Goober and didn’t get his plushie). I’ve got doubles of almost everything else if anyone wants to do some swapping?
The only way I have figured out how to get 100% on the pop quiz is to have a browser window open behind the game. When I get a question I don’t know, I have just enough time to toggle to the browser, type a quick question and hope it comes back with a hint. That being said, I still don’t get a perfect score very often (most of the time I don’t care, but when I need it for points … 🙂
Would love your 7-minute frosting recipe, Momz. I’m glad you weren’t surprised by your ds’s decision, but that you gave him the opportunity. We’ve been watching a lot of Mike Rowe and all of his work promoting jobs other than ones needing a college degree. He’s done such an amazing job bringing awareness to other industries. Also, as I’ve been working my way through the medical system, my teacher brain has been asking all of the technicians what they needed to get their job, how they like it, etc. Most of them only needed to go through x-ray school (online) and then get a residency-type of job where they receive a lot of on-the-job training. Everyone I’ve met was such a professional, and I’ve been super impressed by the medical field … other than the fact that it takes *forever* to get through all of the hoops (months between visits), some problems due to a backlog of people from covid, and others from a shortage in workers. Would love to hear gaga’s take on whether she thinks the medical technician field is still a good one. 🙂 (Sorry, realizing I’m getting to that oversharing part.)
We’re looking forward to spending Thanksgiving with the kids! They are all in Florida right now, so we’ll be driving down to spend the end of the week with them, and we are all looking forward to being together. The boys are over-busy and are ready for a break. Can’t believe this is their last year! Sounds like they will all be coming back home this next summer, so we will be taking a break from empty nesting until they figure out where they want to end up. They both have jobs lined up here, so it makes sense for them to stay with us until they save up enough money to buy a place. I hear living with adult children is very different, so we’ll see how it goes! LOL!
Ready for the holidays, but not the snow. We’ve had a beautiful fall, and I’m not ready to let it go yet. But soon …

Are you expecting a win from the Jets ? I guess it was lucky for our game today that Lions stadium was not being used …I guess they hurried the carnival out that was set up there ! Good morning!
I do feel a bit more rested today! My dh could tell a difference which is ironic because I stayed up a bit late reading. But I guess two days of downtime helped!
Not impressed with Polly’s platform. Basically, she isn’t even wanting to win with her lame promise. But I do like collecting ALL of the election stuff…even Polly’s.
Not really a sports fan, but I did watch the last part of the Ohio vs. Maryland game. I knew that Gaga was an Ohio fan and my son-in-law is a Maryland fan.
I haven’t logged into NEXT or Classic today, but from some things I read on FB, I will definitely buy my milk for the NEXT potato recipe before I open the recipe card. One of my friends opened the recipe and then went to buy the milk and when she went back to make it the recipe was gone! I hope the issue is resolved for her by now, but meanwhile. I’m going to buy my milk a head of time.
Have a great Sunday! Mine will be more relaxed as I have a day off tomorrow and don’t have to prep for classes.

gaga-I don’t really collect the dispensers, just figured if I have to get points, I may get one. I think they usually run a points sale on cyber Monday, so I may wait until then.
Still cold here too, it was 44 when I woke up. Supposed to get a little warmer over the next couple of days, so fingers crossed for that. Does not help that it was 80 degrees at home yesterday, which is not normal for there either, but sounds nice for a few days.

Busy weekend and short week. Trying to get everything done.
gaga—Thank you so much for the heels and the extra goodies! Just got done on main classic acct. Haven’t even log into Next yet today. Completely forgot the new week of activities was today. Oh no, not cake it up again. lol Yes, the Lions have won three in a row now…crazy! Was weird to watch Browns game against the Bills on the Lions field. 🙂 There is a time lapse video on the Lions social media that is crazy how fast they took down the Carnival and got ready for the game. Cool to watch. Yep, little miss stella comes with us for the holiday traveling. Hope your lunch today was fun and you got to catch up with your friend.

Pot roast sounds good, Moms! I need to go grocery shopping soon! I got some of my groceries last week. I usually go with some type of soup for Wednesday night, turkey dinner on Thursday, and leftovers the rest of the time (and maybe one other kind of soup). I will have at least ten guests. Some are coming in on Wednesday, the rest on Thurs. Some will leave on Sat. and some will leave on Sunday. Most of my guests (aka family) are bringing things to contribute to the Thanksgiving meal.
I’ve never heard of lasagna soup! Sounds interesting!
Oh…the make-up question….I haven’t worn make-up in a long time. Mostly because it bothers me so much! Back in the day I was never seen without make-up. But I have very sensitive skin. I often will wear it for special occasions, but I always have to buy it for that time since make-up has an expiration date.

miracle-Keeping you in prayers as well. Thanks for sharing, this is a great group to help lift you up. A friend of mine is going through similar, with an unusual prognosis, and so far each step has gone well, so hoping this for you as well. Keep us posted on the nerve study.
Spending my first (and hopefully last) Thanksgiving in Florida as well. Worth it to spend it with the kids though. Travel safe, and hopefully it’s warm where you are going.

dee-I also wear makeup, sometimes. Finding a good foundation is a chore, but maybe we can help. Do you want an actual lip stain? I prefer those, I like benetint, but there are several good brands on the market. Weird fact-you can actually use food coloring to stain your lips. I am at the makeup stores a lot for dd, so atell us what type colors you want, and this group should be able to come up with some ideas.
moms-I saw a slice of coconut cake at the store here the other day, it looked good, I may have to attempt it at some point.
Now I have to look up lasagna soup, never heard of that either.
Already over the tasks for Next, it’s a lot. So many glitches too. My points are off which means some points didn’t count, no idea how. It’s annoying. They seem to be having quite a few issues lately.

Miracle.. I am so sorry you have some significant medical issues.. I too will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. My sweet brother is having his second carpal surgery done on his other wrist on Monday.. The first one was done about a month ago and he is very pleased with the results… He dealt with the pain and numbness for a few years and finally decided it was time.

Where does the time go ? Himself is also a Senior this year and figuring out the next step… Looking at post grad degree but not discussing until he figures it out… Applications not being accepting until Dec 15 but he has all requirements ready to send !

dee.. Can’t help you with makeup suggestions but maybe your local department store offers free makeup session to try their products and at least you could get some color suggestions for lip stick and whatever without having to purchase …
moms… The medical field has changed so much since I first started.. but so many men have entered the field in a variety of occupations. X ray tech is a good choice.. during the program they rotate through various departments within the department.. Surgery MRI CT Scan ER and Nuclear Medicine..
Techs are used for so much for diagnostic testing… I know where I worked they offered a shadowing program where a kid would come and spend a day to see what the techs do and what their responsibilities are.. It gives them an idea of a day in the life of X tech.
Seems like the trend is also utilizing Medical Assists…They are employed in many areas of the hospital and doctors offices. They focus is not as hands on patient care but more office work oriented.. Some places use PT assistants but not sure what the requirements are academically .. CSR techs… Vascular Techs…
So many varied jobs within the hospital…Hospital benefits are pretty good..
Some jobs offer advancement but at least he could see what hospital employment is all about… Hope that helps.
Building trades ? Former husband started as electrician and now has a very successful business of his own. I think each trade has an apprenticeship which prepares them for employment..

April… So happy that Stella with join your family for Thanksgiving ! I am sure she will bring lots of kisses to all ! I used to bring my dog wherever I went and she was always welcome and treated like a queen !
So much hype around here for upcoming OSU/Michigan game… more so than the Browns ! This year the game is at the Shoe and himself will be heading back to Columbus Friday as he is planning on joining the 100,000 other cheering fans… Hope its a winner !

Who knows.. maybe you will become a dog lover and get one ! My “work husband” has two and before he became a nurse he was a firefighter who had
cadaver dogs which were called throughout the city when needed to search for a body… He has since retired as a firefighter and is employed as a nurse but uses one of his Goldens as a Therapy dog .

dee—I would love to find a good foundation for dry skin. So far, no luck. I don’t wear it everyday so it hasn’t been a priority. I use Pixi brand make up from Target. Its cruelty-free and gets the job done. It doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin, but my face looks pretty dry sometimes.
Sheba—Not this year. Going to MO to DH’s family. We usually travel for the holidays. My bro and dh’s sister have kids, so we’ve always traveled to them. Thinking about putting them all on notice for next year. Would be nice to be able to be home for a holiday and have them come to us. Have fun with your family coming into town. So nice they all bring items to contribute. My best advice for the pup is to keep trash out of sight and covered with all the yummy smells in there. 🙂

Know wonder the players complain about turf as opposed to real grass. Not happy with this weeks activities in next either. It’s a holiday week, glad we have several weeks to hopefully complete them. gaga—That’s so sweet everyone treated Kirby like a Queen. <3. Yes, Stella loves everyone and has a wonderful time. Between FIL and SIL, they have 5 dogs, so it gets a little nerve wracking for me. They are all rescues and don't have the best manners, but we get through it. Oh that OSU/Michigan game is big time! I still remember the game from last year. At least if Michigan loses, I'll be happy for you gaga. 🙂 I hope himself has an awesome time at the game!
