   Good Morning All !

   Literally shopped till we dropped ! Didn’t help that I was up at 3 to be sure I was ready in time ! Frost on the pumpkins in Amish… Pretty cold when we started out but ended up being a beautiful day. We each found a treasure or two, had a great lunch and a chance to talk and catch up on all that is going with the family…. She did however poke the bear by starting on politics… definitely not a topic up for discussion !! { LOL ).. Her kitty finally came out of hiding once she realized that the two large pups went home but most likely with return at Christmas ! They arrived home in Connecticut safely but no time for me to catch up with them.. It was a whirlwind trip for them.
   I will be home for the day today waiting on the plumber who is going to try and fit me in his schedule. Hopefully I can have my main shower fixed as I hate the inconvenience of going in the basement to shower and having to worry about Mickey ! So far so good… but weather is changing so he is looking for someplace warmer.

   moms.. thanks for posting the October e store schedule.. always fun to see what is upcoming ! There is a store in Amish which sells kettle corn and gives out a baggie to sample which we take for our ride home.. Pretty good !
   We were thankful that our favorite stores were still there and not closed up for more blingy stores ! We also noticed more Amish people riding electric bicycles … fewer horse and buggies. Few places that still have hitching posts and we love seeing the horses. All in all a great day.
   I am hearing that himself would like to take a two week archeologic dig in Poland which is being offered through the department. He has developed a keen interest in Archeology and has taken several classes… Need to hear more about it and hopefully make that happen for him.

   dee… I actually did buy some Apple Butter and Raspberry Jam for one of my friends who asked me to pick some up for her… Wished I would have known I would have picked up some extra for your !

   April… I am looking forward to seeing Stella in her costume…
   I had not heard about JJ Hick’s AF but will check into it and see what I can learn.. Most often patients put on a blood thinner until cause is determined and potential ablation done… It would obviously not be possible for him to play football if that were the case… Sorry the Lions lost but hopefully their key players will be healthy enough to play soon .

   Sheba.. What a great project for your girls to do.. I wish I were in your class !
   Never really learned to sew despite taking a home economics class in high school ! One of the booths in Amish had all kinds of sewn items for American Girl Dolls… One of which was a sleeping bag which was really clever.

   Farmers Day today !
   Seems like most of the new Glam items in NEXT are not kinzpostable ! Figures.

   dh was invited to a business dinner yesterday, and they invited me along – it was a favorite fancy restaurant, so we had great food & had so much fun – it was a fun group of people

   Sounds like you had a fun day, Gaga!

   The sewing project went well! The girls seemed to enjoy it, even the ones that thought that they wouldn’t! I’d love to have you in my class, Gaga! 😉
   Next week, I will have to bring sewing machines, iron, and ironing board to class (and extra tables to set everything up on). Wish I did not have a mobile classroom. It is SO much work!

   No evidence still of any Mickeys at my house. I am so skeptical. Do they really leave? But maybe having all that company and noise added to any discouragement of choosing a home at my place! I hope that is the case.
   If you all are wondering why I am bringing this up, I’m thinking of Gaga’s comment about taking a shower in the basement and her thoughts of a possible Mickey. My mom told me that once they had a mouse problem at their house and she watched a mouse flatten itself to go under a closed bedroom door (in the basement). She thought it would be impossible for a mouse to do that but she was amazed at what she witnessed.

   Anyway, on to better thoughts! I am looking forward to adding some bats to one of my Webkinz houses this weekend. When I was a little girl we had a problem with bats in our house! I can remember my dad constantly having to shoo bats out of his basement office. But the scariest story happened up on the 2nd level. We had company overnight and during the night the lady guest screamed. Her husband got up and chased a bat around the room. Not sure the end result of the story (such as…did my dad help with this)? But I may ask about it when I call them today.

   Also, one time we had a bat “stuck” between the screen and our window on 2nd story of our present house. It was so interesting! We were able to examine the bat up close. The bat actually had squeezed in there to find protection from a hawk that was circling around outside. Ever since then I have a new appreciation of bats. It was SO cute! (I feel that way because there was a barrier between us). Anyway….that wraps up the bat stories for now.

   i do hate mosquitos with a passion, but bats & mice are creepy – make me shiver

    Good Morning !

    moms.. always nice to have dinner in a favorite place ! Glad you had a good dinner and lots of fun ! What is your favorite ” eating out ” entre ?
    Can’t beat a good steak or prime rib for me but rarely get out for that dinner… Having said that I am getting together tonight with small group of ER friends and one of the doctors for a nice dinner and evening of talking out the good old days and I am sure lots of laughs… Looking forward to it.

    dee… are you going to be making your own Apple Butter ? Wish I could have sent you some ! My favorite snacking apples are Cosmic. Have you ever tried one ? Really good !

    Sheba.. You sure do put your heart and soul into preparing for your classes !
    Sounds like a lot of work just bringing what you need to class.. No wonder you get so exhausted ! Hopefully your Mickey is long gone… I think if it were still around you would either hear it or see remnants of it…

    April.. hearing on the radio this morning that Tom B and wife are calling it curtains ! Feel badly about it… think he is being selfish….Has had a long successful career… hope he thinks it worth coming out of retirement…

    New Seed Boxes for Deluxe Wednesday if anyone is interested checking it out…
    Plumber came to fix my shower…. Did a great job and was very reasonable..
    I had to take back fixture I had bought to be prepared for his visit… but he didn’t feel it was necessary to change out… was thankful for his advice and honesty !

    my favorite apples for eating are pink lady apples

    gaga – we went to a fancy steak place – i had steak – everyone did at our table because this place has really special steaks. even the one guy that pretty much only eats chicken got a steak this time too & loved it. i don’t want steak too often, but i also really like seafood so fish or lobster is also a good nice dinner 🙂

    how was your dinner? hope it was full of good food & many laughs!

    Good Morning All !

    dee… I like honeycrisp apples and granny smith’s ! Need a salt shaker for the granny smith’s .. tastes better ! Keep us posted on your Apple Butter making project..

    moms… We all had a great time and yes lots of laughs… I ordered the prime rib and it was really good ! Normally I would order a tenderloin filet but restaurant’s specialty was prime rib and would not attempt to make it at home..so I opted to try it… The doctor who joined us was always one of our favorites to work with… lost his wife unexpectedly earlier this year so we reached out to him to join us… I think he enjoyed the evening and hopefully we can get together again soon.

    Sheba.. bats are right up there with mice for me.. Thankfully have not seen any around here ! I don’t know if you happened to see a recent post but one of the colleges had twenty students had been bitten by a bat during the night
    Apparently gained access through broken screens in one of the dorms !
    Talk about freaky ! I think they all had to be given rabies vaccinations…

    April… read a little bit about JJ watts… I think he had an ablation the day after diagnosis… didn’t realize his wife is expecting a baby boy soon ! Hope all goes well .. I am also hearing Miles Garrett expecting to play on Sunday… our next four games are expected to be tough…

    Farmers Day today..
    If anyone bought the seed boxes yesterday and has an extra wacky scaredy cat dispenser.. would love to trade.. Received an extra fountain and the bed.

    gaga—I think I’m going to try and get some photos this weekend of Stella in her costume, if she isn’t cooperative I’ll still have some time to get her used to it and hopefully get a decent pic. It’s really sad about Tom B. It seems like he doesn’t know who he is without football and messed up his whole family, but in the end, it’s sad for everyone involved, especially the kids. Did you see his new teammate Cole B. played two games and called it quits, retired effective immediately. Makes you wonder if he saw what Tom was going through and decided he didn’t want to end up like that. I saw JJ Watt press conference. He was so emotional. I felt so bad for him. I really hope he’s going to be okay especially with his first son on the way. He and his whole family are from Wisconsin and him and his brothers do so much for the communities here that nobody ever hears about. Really respect them. Glad to hear Miles G. feels good and ready to play, and yeah, the Browns have a tough schedule ahead. I haven’t tried Cosmic apples yet, will have to look for those. I only got one of the scaredy cat dispensers so I don’t have an extra, but if you want some of the cocoas from it let me know, I will send them over. If anyone else would like some too, let me know.

    dee—hope the apple butter turns out. Sounds wonderful! Ooooo, thanks for letting us know about the ghost hunt in next!

    moms—sounds like you have a fun fancy dinner out. It’s fun to do that now and then.

    sheba—glad to hear the sewing project was a success! My grandma taught me how to sew. I can only sew pillows or take in some pants. I never learned how to really sew with patterns or anything. I have her old sewing machine. It’s cast iron and folds down into a side table thing.

    Somehow I missed the college bat story, Gaga! That’s terrible!

    The steak sounds delicious, moms! I like to have one every once in a while.

    Dee – How did the apple butter process go? I wish I could say that I was a fan of apple butter, but I’m not! But apples are one of my favorites in the fruit category, along with strawberries, grapes & pears. Blueberries if they are sweet.

    Had a bit of a time today getting baby girl to take her nap. Needless to say, I am needing a nap, but I’m going to just make it an early bedtime. Other than that, we had a very fun day! Took a walk with stroller, read books, played with the toys on screened in porch, played with the “special” plastic lunch containers in the kitchen (the only cabinet she is allowed in! Played with toys in our living area, read more books, went outside and played with “nature” for an hour. It was a beautiful day.

    I really don’t do much sewing. I have used patterns before, but I feel that I am reading a foreign language. LOL!

    Have never watched Gray’s Anatomy, but I have had friends who were fans. Maybe I should check it out sometime.

    It will be interesting to see if looking for the ghost on NEXT is fun or frustrating.
