   gaga – how was Pip today??? i am VERY picky about car features & colors too – i keep a car a long time usually too – i think i’m going to take dh’s car this time & let him get a new one again because he likes getting a new car more often than i do, his is very comfortable & good for road trips, & i don’t know what i would even want but think mine is very impractical for long drives (i.e. visiting the boys)

   moms.. Pip was very rambunctious today ! Full of energy and running all over the place ! Not sure how most cats are but she seems to have run of the kitchen and on countertops and kitchen table… Not that I am a super germaphobe but didn’t think she belonged up there but not my place to scoot her off ! ( as she does drink out of the faucet … however I am very lenient on her treats !!
   My last day of visiting should be tomorrow… Had both shingle and Covid vaccination booster today … Hoping for no side effects tomorrow.. Stopped at grocery store after visit and got a few groceries … just in case.

   Sharing a random act of kindness by grocery packer… I had most of my cart emptied onto checkout belt…the cashier was having problems with the credit card machine… after about 10 minutes she called for assistance… they too had problems with credit card machine… In the mean time the manager told the grocery packer to take his lunch ! Instead of leaving his post he went over and brought an empty cart and started taking all of my items off the check out belt and putting them in the cart. He said that he would check me out in the next lane despite me saying that I was in no hurry and would wait.. All he said was that he was a team player and was happy to help..
   What a nice young man…. Unfortunately… the credit card machine was still not working and that poor lady was still there … I went to the manager and told her what a great employee they had and a fine young man.. Made my day

   gaga – so glad you shared his excellent service with the manager!

   i used to be a total germaphobe about my previous cat – no counters, etc. but now *psh* i treat these kittens like grandchildren – they have baskets on my counter where they are welcome to nap 😆 they’ve been trying to climb into my cabinets etc. when i’m unpacking

   i do clean the countertops regularly & do not let them anywhere near where i am cooking, but they do like to mind my business a lot 😆

   Good evening!

   How nice to experience something nice like that, Gaga! It makes one feel that the world isn’t all bad.

   When a cat owner, I was pretty strict about no counters or tables. That doesn’t mean that they complied when I wasn’t home. LOL!

   I ended up not going to the funeral. I thought it was outdoors but it wasn’t. And I wasn’t crazy about being in a room full of people when I have so many friends dealing with covid now. Plus, lil’ girl’s mom wasn’t crazy about it either. It was just as well because lil’ girl was really clingy most of the day. She played more nicely after nap.

   Dee – That’s strange. They say for you to come in and you drive all that way to be told that you aren’t needed???? Crazy!

   National Dog Day today ! Lots of dogs for adoption at the estore if anyone is looking for a new pup !
   I texted with my nephew in Connecticut last night… He and his wife are leaving for France tomorrow for their 3d year anniversary and they are leaving their two cats home with lots of food and water… don’t think anyone will be visiting them… They made provisions for their pup to go to camp for the nine days..
   Woke up feeling feverish and achy after vaccinations yesterday but surprisingly enough I have NO arm pain… I swear by one Advil and one Extra Strength Tylenol ! Keeping my to do list very short today … Will go check on PIP and making big pot of chicken noodle soup… Will be able to come home and catch a nap.

   moms.. It is nice of you to offer to let your dh get the new car ! Sounds like you are all set and have a comfortable travel car… to visit the boys ! It is really quite frustrating these days to purchase a new car … Hopefully when your dh is ready to get a new car it won’t take too long and he gets what he wants !

   Sheba… sounds like it was just as well that you stayed home with granddaughter…Still very high rate of transmission in my county and the county next to mine… I still remain vigilant with the mask whenever I go anywhere… I have a wedding to go to in a couple of weeks and it will be held outdoors… So amazing that we all must still worry about Covid !
   Walgreens did give me 8 free Covid tests… hope I won’t need to use them !

    I asked the salesman about the fact that I may not receive my car till 2023 and he said that it was possible … He does have my requirements and I will check in with him next week to see how many cars they have gotten and what month they are filling orders for. Last time I spoke to him which was 3 weeks ago… still filling orders for April…Ordered mine June 9th…

    Hello everyone! It has been a while.

    Dee – I have heard about OP Live but haven’t watched it yet. Is it on any of the main streaming services? I don’t have cable.

    Gaga – who is Pip? Is this a new furry friend?
    My kitchen has a raised ledge/skinny counter thing behind my sink and my cat (unfortunately) loves it. I try to keep him off my other counters but he likes to sit on that ledge and watch me cook, so i usually let him.

    PIP is my sisters new kitten… I am cat sitting while they are on vacation.. They will be home tomorrow… When they adopted her …. her name was Martini !

    Choco.. It seems that the majority of kitties jump on the counter but I don’t know how to avoid it…. but I guess why they make Clorox swipes long before Covid came along !

    you can put foil on the counters, spray them with a water bottle as you yell NO

    works for us
    with the exception of the new kitten, our cats have been extremely trainable
    i figure she is here because we are getting old to keep us on our toes!
    i will never get another female cat tho…………..boys are better

    I don’t mind the counter ledge because I don’t put food on it and he stays out of my food prep area. My main issue is the tv stand. I’ve tried everything, aluminum foil, tape, spray bottle, etc. and nothing works. It seems that he goes up there because he knows it gets my attention so I’ve started ignoring him until he gets down and that seems to be helping.
    I bought him a bat costume yesterday because it’s adorable and I couldn’t resist. Maybe I’ll post a picture tomorrow.

    i trained my last one with the water bottle, but i bought these kitties baskets – my family thinks it is hysterical since i’ve always been such a stickler about keeping the kitchen clean

    Kitty has a basket that he sleeps in on the table. It was supposed to be a napkin basket but he decided it was a bed.
    Some life updates:
    I finally got a masters degree last month. I still have a year left of classes and then a year of internship before I’m completely done. I’m hoping to go back to Michigan for my internship.
    I started a new (and expensive) hobby collecting vintage barbies. 50+ year old dolls are not cheap but they are pretty! I like going to antique malls to look for them.
