   Hey Everyone !

   Very distressing morning this morning… Saw a mouse scurrying around in my kitchen… Screamed and ran upstairs… I was supposed to pick my brother up at 8 to head down to OSU to pick himself up… Showered and dressed and saw ? another one or same up upstairs ! I was really freaking out ! Called my brother and he came over…Since I already have the Fort Knox of traps set up due to my extreme fear… he refreshed all the traps and we were out the door.. All day hoping that the varmint would be caught ! Just arriving home and NO luck…
   What the heck are they doing inside in the Summer… maybe he wanted some A/C !! My brother went home and I am left to arm myself with a bear horn !
   I am beside myself … Will be a long night ! No rest for the weary !

   you seriously need to pull your appliances out (that lead to outside)
   washer/dryer/stove and under your sink and plug the holes with steel wool
   also peppermint oil works
   dd had a lovely college apt that was infested…………i mean cohabitated
   she did not want to kill, just repel………..does anyone have a good cat you can borrow?

    Good evening, all!

    Found out yesterday, I’ve been exposed to someone with Covid…so now the waiting period. I feel okay, other than tired from watching baby girl 30+ hours this week. We had a lot of fun, though, and all I can do is think about her when she is gone.

    Someone mentioned bird feeders and squirrels……..I need to go back and see who…..

    oH Gaga! It’s you!
    First the squirrels and now the mice!

    My husband has trained our squirrels to NOT get on the bird feeder! If I can figure out a way to upload a photo, I will try to post (not tonight) sometime this weekend. It took him forever to figure it out. He tried loads of different things including a slinky, but the squirrels figured that one out. But the set-up he has now, the squirrels are “trained” to eat the bird seed that falls on the ground and they don’t even try to get up the pole anymore.

    Sorry, I don’t have any tips on the mice. Occasionally we have to trap them, but my dh deals with it. I can only think of two times in the thirteen years we have been here that we had to do that. Btw, we had two cats for years, so I don’t know if that helped. I never saw them catch any. Now that our cats are gone we have gotten more into bird watching. We didn’t really want to have a bird feeder when the cats were around.

    Good Morning All !

    dee.. thank you for the suggestions.. My brother had put some steel wool in the fire place where he thought they may be gaining entrance… I will try the peppermint oil on a cottonball… Thankfully I was able to get some sleep but left a light on ! LOL… like that would deter the varmint ! Blew the bear horn when I came downstairs this morning and hopefully my neighbor was not too disrupted although I am an early riser !

    Sheba… Love watching the birds but hate that one pesky squirrel has emptied the feeder a couple of times…Just put one of the ” hats” on the feeder but he is very smart and it hasn’t deterred him ! I hope your Covid test remains negative !

    moms.. I hope you are feeling better and able to get some much needed rest

    Making a to do list … and will be out of here early… I am so hoping that today is the day that varmint will be caught…hate living in such fear !

    hey all! spent the day rearranging some cabinets & drawers, purging my desk – almost done – photos are this week, yay!

    my congestion is better today, so hopefully i will sleep better tonight

    gaga – so sorry about your mouse!!!! i added peppermint oil to my cleaning spray at the cabin for that very reason – definitely need to plug some holes & use peppermint – you can add it to water & spray it around

    Good Morning All !

    dee… Discovered that the little critter likes potato chips ! Heard some noise on top of my fridge yesterday ! Had a bag of chips there and it had been snacking up there !! My brother came back over ( God love him ) and set a couple of traps up there… Needless to say it is not safe to leave anything out ! Have not been brave enough to look up there yet but soon !
    Your potato salad sounds delicious…
    Hopefully today will be the day !

    moms.. hope you were able to get a good night’s sleep… sounds like you haven’t slowed down with your purging !
    Realized yesterday that I had purchased a little wrought iron mouse doorstop while I was in Amish ! I think I may have put a hex on myself !! May have to get rid of it !

    Sunday chores today and would be so happy if Micky is caught… so draining..
    or maybe I am just a wimpette ! I will say that I have been spending more time sitting outside reading instead of playing on the computer…
    No family gathering today… Himself is headed back to OSU this morning.
    Would really like to have one more at my mom’s place before my brother moves and the place gets sold.. We’ll see.

    Good Morning All !

    Happy 4th of July !

    dee… I used to watch the hillbillies but never heard the expression jethro’d before ! So I guess that means there are no leftovers after all the preparation it takes to make it !

    moms.. not sure what a zapper trap is… All I can say is that I buy those that are completely self contained so you can’t see anything ! It even has a lever thing that tells you if the mouse is caught or if the trap is not set or needs to be reset … I would be mortified if I actually saw something in the trap..
    All is good… will keep everything in the fridge… Never was an issue before.
    No plans today… should be a quiet day… fireworks were last night.

    cmpets … Sounds like you are busy packing up too ! Are you not planning on returning to West Coast ? Have you gotten your e store issue resolved yet ?
    Do you have your eye on anything special ?

    Happy 4th of July!

    Hi gaga—Yes, it’s been a long while. I miss everyone. I’m still here. A lot of stuff going on for me. My aunt passed away in early May. I’ve been going back and forth to Michigan a lot. I’m the executor of her will, which is not fun. Problems with the lawyer, problems with family members. But there have been some blessings too. My bro and SIL have been so wonderful and I’m so thankful for them. Brought us even closer together. So glad your bro could come over and help with the mouse! I bet you are sleeping much better. Stella is doing great. Loving being outside and barking at all the wildlife that passes by the fence. I didn’t see her in the yard one afternoon and called her name. Her little head popped up from in the retaining wall garden, was so cute…I included a picture for you. 🙂

    moms—Hope you are feeling better.

    sheba—I hope you stay feeling well.

    dee—I spent a lot of time with my grandparents as a kid. They let me watch the Beverly Hillbillies. I totally knew what jethro’d meant. 🙂

    Played more Next than I usually do because I was traveling a lot and it’s so handy to have the app on the phone. Wish Classic’s app had more function, but oh well. Glad to be home for a bit and get back into Classic.

    April… so sorry to hear that your aunt passed away.. I know how much you were involved in her life and she entrusted you to be the executor of her estate.. I am sure there are a lot of headaches for you but thankfully it sounds like your brother and sister in law are there for you.. It must be difficult especially her being in another state.. thoughts are with you…
    As always Stella’s picture is adorable… She really is a cute dog ! Those ears showcase her face !! That picture of her peeking her head up is worth a thousand words. Nice to see you stop and say hey !

    dee… I am not able to help with your music issue… I am not techy at all but I am sure someone here will be able to help you by suggesting things you need to do ! Many family vacations in upper Michigan as a kid.. always a great time and so many memories. Traverse City/Petoskey area

    Hey, all!
    I can’t help with the techy stuff, Dee!

    My U.S. friends are probably all at the fireworks. Happy 4th! The romance with my dh started on July 4th a LONG time ago, on the way to the fireworks with both of our families.

    Gaga – RIP Mickey. (or good riddance!)

    No Covid in this house, thankfully! I am hoping it stays that way. Saturday will be 10 days since last exposure. I have been extremely tired, but that’s for another reason. Also, we are still working on our screened in porch upgrade and we started a big project today of going through our garage. We got rid of a lot, but we have only just begun. Tomorrow is back to work for DH, and I have an idea that I will do a bit more in the garage (most of it is my collections of stuff). But it is more fun when we are working together. I really need to be tackling some other hot spots in my house. But….can only focus in one or two spots at a time. Our garage is connected to our screened porch. We decided we wanted the extra fridge to leave porch area and go into the garage. That is what motivated the project. The OLD fridge doesn’t look so great with our new patio furniture.

    Sorry to hear about your aunt! I am sure it is quite a bit of work to be the executor. Glad that things are going well with your brother & s-i-l.
