dee… Although my dentist is 80 he doesn’t look it .. He walks 3 miles a day and remains very sharp mentally… Went to a new dentist 6 months ago but was rather overwhelmed with multiple people involved in my dental care… Did see the dentist for a few minutes but was then turned over to an EFTA… and was to see a dental hygienist for next appointment for cleaning… I sensed that I most likely wouldn’t see the dentist every time…. I guess in many respects I am old fashion but still believe in seeing a doctor for appointments… and dentist for appointments…Not sure what I will do when my dentist retires… But your question made me chuckle just the same ! I also remember calling my dentist on a Sunday morning for significant dental pain… and he met me in office within an hour… He really has served me well and taken good care of me over the years.
moms … hope you are having a better day today ! ( hearts )

Gaga: I’m glad you’re healing well. And your dentist sounds wonderful. Hard to live up to! I agree though, about wanting to see actual doctors and dentists vs assistants and NPs and techs etc. I like seeing one person too.
I’ve realized in the past few years, that if I want continuity of future care, I need to start seeking out doctors and dentists and other professionals who are younger than me, not older than me. Sadly, I’m finding that people who used to be good, who I respected and counted on professionally for years – not just doctors – are kind of losing their marbles a bit 😉 They’re not as sharp anymore. A couple are. I am thankful for them. But many who were unchanged in their mental capacities for decades, NOW suddenly are not as quick, not as sharp, just not as good 🙁 Very strange for me, because I always wanted doctors (and other professionals) who were older than me, and more experienced. But now I need to find people younger than me who won’t be retiring or slowing down any time soon! But eek!
Re the battery operated lamp, I was going to suggest those outdoor solar lamps that people put on their lawns or walkways. Many use AA or AAA rechargable batteries. If there’s an outage you’ll have several lamps already charged and ready to bring indoors, and you could also use them as solar battery chargers.
BUT, the crank radio/cell charger/lamp that a few people mentioned is intriguing. I looked those up online and there’s lots of brands. For people who have used them, what brand do you like, and have you actually used it in an emergency and did it really work well? I’m currently staying somwhere that is prone to power outages during storms, and I would like to be better prepared.

Good Morning All !
dee… thanks for taking the time to put all of the links for us to see what is available… didn’t realize there were so many options !
What are you cooking tomorrow ? Don’t imagine dd is able to come home for Fathers Day…
moms .. Hope all is well your way… Looks like your heat wave is continuing !
50’s here and so windy ! What a difference a couple of days make.
How is your mom doing with her fx hand/brace.. Hope she is managing.
Part timer.. I’m on the same page with you about doctors/dentists… Found a great Primary Care doctor who I changed to when mine retired… he too practiced till he was almost 80 ! Recently ran into him on a lunch outing and I was with several of my old cronies from the ER.. He came to the table and wanted to buy us all a drink… but nobody was drinking but him ! He is now close to 90 ! Still driving !
Saw a snipet on the news last night… Sir Paul McCartney celebrating his 80th today.. He was in concert ? New Jersey and Bruce Springsteen made a surprise appearance and he and Paul sang ” Glory Days”.. I would have loved to have been there !
Usual Saturday errands and groceries.. Looking forward to small family get together tomorrow… we are winding down with time spent at my mom’s place…
Hope you all have a great day !

Dee: Thanks for the links! The battery operated light switches are a great idea! I have several of those, but not with me. I use them in closets. Mine run through batteries pretty quickly, but at home, for non -emergency use, I use them with rechargable batteries that I swap in as needed.
Gaga: I imagine it’s a bit surreal when you’re at your mom’s place. I’m glad your family is making time to have some get togethers.

those flip lights are cool! i don’t have any of those
i have flashlights, portable chargers, & usually glow sticks although i haven’t checked my supply of those lately – glow sticks were always a hit when the power went out because it made it fun instead of scary for the warthogs 🙂

Good Morning All !
Happy Father’s Day to all who celebrate with their Dads.
moms.. Hope you were able to get a good nights’ sleep ! You sure have been busy ? Maybe today you can rest and relax and do something fun ! I will say that there is always a good feeling getting so much accomplished !
dee.. Went to Cabela’s yesterday… Very crowded but could not find any salesperson to help with the light… Looked at all of them and opted for a Coleman light which will also recharge his phone…
Part Timer.. Very difficult to let my parents place go… So many get together’s especially since my dad passed away.. Sunday has been our family day so I really want to keep that going as long as we can… My place is so small that I don’t have seating to have it here….we’ll figure it out.
Will just enjoy each time we can enjoy her place and be together !
Grilling burgers and asparagus.. corn on the cob and throwing some fries in the oven… cookies for dessert.. Still packing stuff up but figure by mid July my brother will be in his new place and we’ll close up shop !
Sheba Hope you are enjoying your trip !
Hope you all have a great day !

Hey dee… I’m not techy… and you’re not an idiot.. I think the easiest way to have a picture printed from your phone is to go to a photo department at your local pharmacy..( Walgreen’s ) They are usually very helpful.. I think you need your usb cord and show them your picture to be printed and voila… I have done it a couple of times but used a tablet…but should be the same principle… Maybe I’m the idiot !

dee.. just posted a response but for some reason…. did not show up.. If you wouldn’t mind fishing it out OR you could wait for one of the techy people on the blog to help.
