   Hello, all!

   Just checking in before I go to bed! Thanks for all the birthday wishes.

   Dee, I wasn’t sure there was going to be cake, but my husband picked up a cake at Kroger and would not tell anyone one kind. My mother teased him saying that she had peeked, but not really! LOL! My dh made a delicious salmon, rice, roasted butternut squash, & corn dinner. I, along with my friend, made a tossed salad. My son, his wife and baby girl also joined us for dinner. It was very special. Oh…and the cake was a pineapple upside down cake. I was a bit skeptical that it would be good (because I like home-made), but it was delicious!

   Just spent over an hour detangling yarn. Sigh! Getting ready for a crochet project. I think I remember someone on here that joined a crochet club, so….I was kinda’ wishing that I had done it, too. I feel a bit rusty.

   I failed to take care of my Webbies this weekend, but hopefully will pick back up soon!

   Sure was a beautiful day here yesterday !

   moms.. Happy all went with spring breakers ! Menus sounded delicious.. I am
   sure you will rest easier when they have arrived back on campus !
   Himself due home on Friday for a week.. Final closeout of his home .. Will be an emotional week for him I’m sure.

   Sheba.. Sounds like you had a great birthday dinner with your family ! I am sure a good time was had by all… You really didn’t miss anything in WW this weekend..Lots of upcoming activities to look forward too.

   dee… Hope you were out fishing ! Sounds like your weather was beautiful too !

   Need to catch up on domestics here… and do a little grocery shopping !

   i am tired! did i mention my sis & her family are coming this weekend????? 🙂 i need to finish that laundry so i can get the beds remade

   mattress pads, pillow covers, sheets, towels, etc. for 10 people they didn’t use as many towels as I expected though . . .

    Good Morning All !

    moms… That’s a lot of laundry ! … not to mention all you did to get ready for the spring breakers… shopping , meals, cleaning.. No wonder you are tired and you start again for another round of guests. Do you have room for one more ?
    The facility where my least involved brother wants is sending a few people to do an assessment some time today ( as he gets ready to exit the country for nine days).. Of coarse it is the cheapest and is an assisted facility.. My mom’s care is way beyond assisted care…He hung up on me yesterday as my mom is yelling that she will never forgive me for this !! Honestly…don’t care about much right now. Hope to be there for the assessment and see what their criteria is. I took the day off yesterday as a mental health day and catch up on my own things that needed to be done… Trying to somehow get an attitude adjustment… and just breathe ! Treated myself to a delicious fudge sundae… lots of fudge sauce and pecans.. It was delicious ! Thanks for asking…

    dee.. Good News ! The Eagle has returned to her nest and is sitting on an egg or eggs ! Felt bad for her as it was pouring rain ! I was beginning to wonder if something had happened to them because it seems later than previous years… Looking forward to some eaglets.

    Sheba. Hope you were able to get your yarn detangled and begin a new activity with the kids… It sounds fun and most likely they will have something to show for their activity !

    Hi all!

    Happy Birthday Sheba! Your birthday was the 3rd? *squints at past comments* Mine was Feb 26- we’re really close! Your birthday dinner sounds delicious. We made salmon for mine too.

    The weather has been so nice here in the South that we’ve been outside a lot! Kiddo’s freckles are popping up all over his nose. It might rain the next few days, so I’m debating another park trip to get some friend time before we’re cooped up indoors.

    We had grandparents visit last weekend and did so many chores and projects around the house- new sand in kiddo’s sandbox, planted wildflower seeds, amended the soil in the gardens, and replaced the mailbox post. I’ve not had any time for the Kinz, but I have to try to make them, and here, more of a priority.

    My dad, who’s a widower from covid-19 got himself a puppy this weekend. A newfoundland/great pyrenees mix. O.O He’s named Augustine, or Auggie, and he’s going to be GIGANTIC. At least he’ll keep my dad busy, engaged, and get him out of the house and keeping active.

    Moms, I didn’t read back far enough yet, but what happened that Humphrey needs a cone?

    Gaga, this whole situation with your mom sounds so stressful and upsetting, especially with additional siblings involved who have differing opinions. Oh, my heart goes out to you having to walk the fences in the middle of all these disagreeing views. I hope you and your siblings and mom can all come together to find the best fit for everyone.

    gaga – can we run away to a beach somewhere??? i need a break, too! actually, this weekend is more visitors, then in a couple of weeks i’m going to see ds & some of his performances 🙂 so it just keeps going & going but at least my “stuff” is good stuff – your “stuff” is not, and i am so sorry you are going through this

    & can i tell least involved what i think of him believing he’s entitled to strong opinions????

    Good Morning All !

    moms… The beach is my favorite place to be but it has been at least 10 years since I have been there… Let’s go ! Sanibel Island is my all time favorite..
    So happy that you have the opportunity to visit your ds and see his performances ! Hopefully weather in OH should be better by then although predicting some snowfall today… Yesterday waited for assessment nurse to evaluate my mom for assisted placement… NO show.. NO call.. I called their office and tracked down the nurse who said she was unable to keep her appointment but would come today…. Due to our time crunch… my facility choice was OK”D by my brother but still wants assessment ! Hoping paperwork will be in order and my mom will be transferred tomorrow..
    Relieved that her care should be appropriate and will scramble to get necessities needed to have her new “home” made ready… ( Motorized lounge chair ) most important for her comfort…few other items but not vital. This whole situation has fractured my relationship with my brother and we are not speaking ! I’m ok with that .. Keeping my fingers crossed that all is in order and she will leave tomorrow.

    Thanks for all for you support ! It means so much to me !

    Puma… WOW ! The pup your dad has adopted is quite a mix.. I can’t image how big it will get ! Love the name he has chosen and wonder because of the combination what color it is ? Black and White equals ? gray ?? Next time you visit I am sure we would love a picture of the new pup Auggie ! Augustine a very strong name for a very strong dog..

    Sheba… How did the knitting class go ? What are the kids making ?
    Now that your celebration and guests have gone you will be able to relax and catch up !

    puma – auggie does sound like a BIG dog, but adorable mix! i hope he’s ready to brush him a lot! 😉 one of my closest friends lost her great pyr last year & just got a goldendoodle/great pyr mix – he is an adorable black puppy with some white spots – he is so confident & brave for a currently little guy, but he could end up being 70 lbs

    My birthday and 15th Webkinz anniversary is tomorrow. I’m finally going to adopt the Cheeky Cat I’ve been holding onto. I adopted my Cheeky Dog on my 10th anniversary so it’s only fitting.

    I just had a moment of panic! I went to edit my wish list and NOTHING was there. BUT….I exited out and went back to it and all was good! Whew! Not sure what happened. OR maybe it is just me today! I’m always tired on Tuesday! LOL!

    My tangled up yarn was detangled, but it is such a tiny lil’ problem compared to what some of you are facing! I’m teaching the girls how to crochet. Some of them are willing participants and some of them….well…not so willing. I get that! It isn’t everyone’s thing. But I encourage them to try.

    Cassie – I will look to see if I have extra red roses. I seemed to get a lot of tables and chairs. Do you have any extra wow spin coupons?

    Dee – I wasn’t aware about the NEW covid tests until you mentioned it. We still have three of our original four. My dh used one last week, but it was negative. He followed up with PCR test, but again it came back negative. So it looks like he just had a nasty cold or virus of some sort.

    Gaga – I bet you cannot wait until all of this is behind you! Is this the brother that was gifted a truck? (Just curious). Prayers & hugs for you as you deal with all of this!

    Puma – How cool that we have birthdays so close together and that we both had salmon for our birthday dinners! 😉

    i wish i could take your crochet lessons – i’m going to make that a goal for empty nesting . . . so when i’m sad & moping if this younger ds does go to college next year, please remind me to learn to crochet!

    There are a lot of good YouTube videos out there….I can send you some links when you get to that point. Or you can just watch a bunch! That is what I do. Everyone has a bit of a different style and I end up learning a lot as I hear different perspectives. Of course, a family friend taught me how to crochet in person. The girls are learning single crochet which is the basic stitch. One of my students who is actually an avid knitter wanted to learn the granny stitch, so I had her watch a video that is great for beginners. FYI – this student is new to crochet. I’m just realizing this as I write this! Anyway, she was quite excited. Another FYI – I am new to granny squares. Yeah….I learned it at one time, but I had totally forgotten.

    It was quite tricky going around to each girl to teach them single crochet. Actually, how to tie a slip knot, how to chain and then how to single crochet. Maybe I should have had them watch a video first! Maybe next week! LOL! I actually sent links to the parents so if they want to they can watch it at home.

    I have a few links that are my favorites. One of the things that I learned by watching YouTube video’s is that what we call a double-crochet stitch in the U.S. is called a “treble” stitch in the U.K.

    we sent two of our tests to dd
    she travels way more than us

    just cooked up some pasta with peppers, onions, garlic and chopped tomato in olive oil
    stinks good!

    and moms, it took me years to get to second row…….granted i was six when i first crocheted………..my grandma that taught me would sew them together. so lots of belts and scarves! ha ha ha
