dee.. have a fun road trip and safe travels to you ! All went well yesterday with my mom’s surgery. They did not get clearance until afternoon but she did well with anesthesia and the hip pinning.. Will keep her 3 days and then will be sent to rehab.. ( not alcohol related ! ) I was told yesterday that the goal is to get her on her feet and walking today. Medical complications are more worrisome than surgery complications ( pin displacement )… due to her age … I am hoping that I will be there when Physical Therapist see her. Thanks to all for support and concern !
moms Thank you too ! I was able to make it to a wake last evening and was able to give my condolences in person and despite restrictions was able to give him a hug and heartfelt sympathy.
We will see what today brings ! All the talk on the news and radio is of upcoming storm arriving Wednesday into Thursday and Friday.. Lots of rain turning to ice and then to snow….
Will be fun to have some new challenges in WW ! Cannot believe it is February 1st !
dee.. forgot to mention that my brother had stopped at my mom’s place and took home the Shepherd’s pie and had it for dinner last night. He said it was delicious ! So… thank you for the recipe ! I am hoping I will have the opportunity to make it again for my mom when she hopefully gets home.. She was really upset that she missed it !
Gaga – I’m so sorry to her about your mother’s fall! Glad that surgery went well, but I know that the recovery period has it’s challenges. ♥ My MIL broke her hip in Sept. 2018 while we were vacationing together. She had a strong desire to get better which helped in her recovery.
My classes went well yesterday! On the way there, I realized that I had forgotten to bring some manipulatives that I wanted to use to reinforce the lesson for the Spanish class. It would have made it more fun, but…oh well. Next week!
The girls made presentations in the doll class. We’ve been busy making doll puppets with cardstock, fabric, ribbon, buttons, craft sticks, etc. The girls wrote little skits and some of them made theaters for the show. Otherwise, they used the one that I had made. They brought their American girl dolls (or other varieties of dolls) to class to be the audience! After presentations were done they had play-time for the last ten minutes of class. It was fun.
I didn’t visit my Webbies yesterday, which was disappointing, but I was too tired. But today, when I was playing the Stardrops game, I won the trophy! Yay! I am so excited about it. I don’t often play that game, but it is fun.
Thanks for posting the calendar, moms!
Dee – glad your dd is doing okay with all that snow! Enjoy your road trip!
Ahhhh…so Grandma001 tried the shepherd’s pie, too! My mom never cooked with mushrooms so I didn’t really have them until I was older. I remember the first time and I wasn’t too crazy about them. But I like them now. Especially fresh mushrooms as opposed to canned. Cauliflower is one of my favorite vegetables, but my dh isn’t really fond of them. I did cook up some fresh broccoli & cauliflower the other night, and if I add cheese on it my husband will eat it. I like it with cheese, too, but I generally avoid dairy.
1) I do wish that they would leave all the Webkinz Next updates under the label Webkinz Next. It makes harder to find information. And yes, I know there is a search function, but I haven’t been too impressed with it.
2) I miss them making a post about PAN items. I notice that they are posting that info in the events section with the PAN pet of the month, which makes sense; however, they are not listing the names of the items which makes more work for me as I like to make a chart and check off as I open the boxes.
At some point I’m going to update my wishlist with PAN items that I missed in the past. I don’t think that I was really aware of pan until sometime in 2018.
That’s all for now regarding Webkinz Newz observations.
QoS – i liked how they listed the items also on pan
gaga – so thankful you are getting the good news you deserve – such a challenge – you’re so kind to let your brother have the shepherd’s pie!!!
dee – hope today is a blast!
ds is in the line for this winter storm, so this might be his first big experience like that on his own – we’ve visited colorado in winter & stuff, but it’s not like he was responsible for anything . . .
Moms – 1) Thanks for the update! Are there no codes expiring in February? 2) Hope all goes well for your son in CO.
PAN prizes for February 2022 with the names of items. 1st row (L to R): Soft Gray Armchair Forest Tiled Counter Raspberry Twist Painting Sunny Lounger Floral Bean Bag Chair
3rd row (L to R): Amethyst Hound Window Amethyst Birthstone Gem Lamp Amethyst Votive Amethyst Belt Amethyst Glasses
This is helpful for me! It took a while to find official names. I realize that I am missing the Amethyst Glasses, so….that will motive me to do PAN. Plus, it will be nice to have a few extra of some of the items.
just read up so happy that shepherds pie recipe worked out for folks! it was not mine, just one i found on the internet. easily veganizable too!
i did not have an 11 by 9 pan, so i just made two smaller pans. dh ate it like nothing! i thought i would have to freeze some……..i could eat the cauliflower if it was hidden in the mash taters……dh says to make it more gravyish next time, which i could see with a half cup more of the beef broth (i used the herb ox salt free packets)………gonna make italian sausage orzo soon……….i think i posted it. gaga made me think of it, when she said make the shepherds pie with sausage………
Did i tell you all that when i went to adopt my valentine fawn, i was in the adoption center & decided to name him Hart? I blame the nose & the little baby antlers *swoons*
