OH that worked! OK. Weird. Momskinz, I’ve been experiencing an Internal Server Error type message when I try and comment from Firefox. I’ll email you a screenshot of the error message in case you know what to do. Seems like it works on Google Chrome. I’ll update Firefox and see if that helps on my end. It’s worked perfectly until early yesterday. I wonder if others might be unable to post as well- try Chrome, and I’ll report back if updating Firefox works.

gaga – So sorry about your family’ recent loss. Seems like it would be pretty hard not to talk about it. Having lost four immediate family members myself in the past twenty-one months, talking about them seemed to be the most therapeutic. That is nice that you will have a service in the spring outside. We have had a couple outside too, though they were both during the winter and very cold.
Has anyone else gotten an item from the snowflakes that is not an original snowflake prize? I got a Sweetheart Reading Chair (2019 Valentine Collection Event) and a Glass of Eggnog (Christmas Party Pack).

Amy- I received a "ski trick toque" which was only available from a challenge but its listed on the webkinz newz post about available prizes this year so I dont know?? I didnt see the sweet heart chair listed but 2 different eggnogs were listed on that page too!

Gaga – We had a nice quiet New Year’s Day! I worked on my calendars most of the day (yes…I’m old-fashioned and do everything by hand). I transferred over all of the birthdays, recycling days, pay days, days off, etc….to the new calendar and updated the info on the old (I save calendars and use as a reference when working on photos or other things that I need to look up). I’m sure if I was a digital gal it would have not taken much time at all.

Amy – I’m sorry about the losses in your family!
As I was working on my calendar, I noticed all the family members and friends that we lost this year, mostly to Covid, but some to other illnesses or unexpected loss. It truly is unbelievable how many hardships there have been. Yet there were joys, too. For our family, the addition of two new babies brought joy. So….yesterday I spent reflecting on all that has been. My dh would occasionally ask me, “What is that sigh for?” and we would recount certain experiences. But I’m going off on a rabbit trail…..
In regards to Webkinz…..I was a bit disappointed this Christmas that my granddaughter and daughter and son-in-law did not get a chance to play Webkinz with me. We had talked about devoting a morning to it, but it didn’t happen. But I think the disappointment really lies in the fact that they just aren’t as interested as they used to be and it made me feel alone in my hobby. That means that I’m totally dependent on my Gymbo friends and other WW friends that I have on FB.
I’m also disappointed that there are no new “free” items when clicking on the snowflakes for Winterfest. That always made it more fun to me! I did get a few new things that I didn’t have from the cookies which made my day!

Someone here mentioned watching “The Christmas Chronicles”. We had never watched it before so we watched the first one on New Year’s Eve and thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks for the suggestion, whoever you are! ♥
My youngest dd video called us from Spain on Christmas Eve & New Year’s Eve. There was so much activity going on at the parties she was at that we could hardly understand a word (plus the Spanish….lol), but it was so nice that she was thinking of us.
Over all, the holidays have been relaxing.

Hello. Popping in to say a quick Happy New Year! We celebrated our second Christmas today with MIL because she had covid on the day. It was a strange winter break, and always goes by too fast. Airport run tomorrow so dd can fly back to school.
Sad for her to go, but it also means I can focus on working and other stuff I need to get done. Hopefully she can come home for a long weekend in February, I don’t think either of us can make it until May without seeing each other in person.
I have gotten a few prizes from the snowflakes I didn’t have (because I took a break for a few years) so for me it is still fun, but I get being disappointed in the repeats when you already have them. Will try to read up on here tomorrow.
moms- love that name for the goat, something I would have picked.

dee… looks like Titans won their division. CLE has no chance of making it to playoffs… despite two more games remaining …
I use a calendar too ! It is a pocket version which I carry in my purse at all times.
If I ever lost it… would be disastrous. Very cold day yesterday to be grilling but steaks were really good.

I guess your family will be heading home ? I am sure you had a great time but will be eager to have a little down time.
I arrived early to my moms yesterday…Needed to get family dinner organized and had quite a bit of prep work… My mom did not speak to me as she was heading back to bed…. My brother arrived a bit later to offer help and apparently my mom told him that there was a ” rat” in the house.!!! After questioning her she said ” Nurse Crachet is here !! I don’t think I mentioned but have suspected one of her caregivers was bringing her secret stash wine.
I found it and questioned the caregiver who did not deny it …. She was let go yesterday . My mom is going to be very angry when she finds out but all caregivers were given strict instructions that the wine is purchased by family only. The kids seemed OK but struggling.

Are you heading back to class today ? Hard to believe that the holidays are over for another year… back to reality.

Gaga our washer died this weekend with our sheets in it too! Small world. It wouldn’t spin, which means we burned out the transmission *again*. We did this in 2019 too. This washer is hardly 3 years old! >.< We wrung out the sheets and let them air dry in the house for a bit before the (10-year-old and still going strong) dryer could handle them. We're shopping for a front loader this time- maybe it can handle the loads of clothes we tend to wash without too much stress on the spinner.
And also, you had a nurse/caregiver who was smuggling wine in to your elderly mom!?! WOW. That takes some courage! O.O I think letting them go is definitely the best choice.
I'm behind on my calendar. Between storms and New Year's, we've had some tired, grumpy days and I'm having trouble getting in gear. I keep a bullet journal and a daily journal, and I slacked off on those over the holidays! Today- homeschool for kiddo, calendar homework for me!
Last night was one-pan pasts for dinner- a really good batch too. I just boil up chicken and shred it, then saute onions and garlic in olive oil. Add tomatoes and cook. Add a whole carton of broth, a few tablespoons of cream, salt and pepper, and then add noodles and let them boil in the broth. Near the end you have a creamy sauce, and you add chopped spinach. When the noodles are tender, serve with parmesan cheese! YUM!

Good morning/afternoon on a beautiful snowy day where I live!
Dee – I got a bird calendar this year for the kitchen. We enjoy watching birds from our feeder in the backyard and the bird bath in the front yard. I also got my husband a bird calendar for his office area. And of course, I have a mini-kitten calendar for my bathroom. 😉

Thanks for asking about my classes! Thankfully, they don’t resume until next Monday, so I am able to enjoy looking at the beauty of the snow. I think we got 5 inches. So hard to believe after having temps in the 60’s yesterday!

Puma – I have been curious about bullet journaling…wondering if it would be a good fit for me. Why do you do two journals? Is the bullet journal more of a planner? I use a simple, inexpensive planner for the “to do” lists (along with an app on my phone); and I use a separate journal for daily entries of thoughts & inspirational quotes.
For whatever it is worth…we watched The Christmas Chronicles 2 last night. It is so unusual to watch movies with my husband. He is not a fan of movies so I was surprised.

Our son is without electricity and their generator is not working so his family of five may be spending the night here tonight. (Son, wife, baby girl, his dad-in-law & mom-in-law). SO, I am busy preparing all the beds. Not sure how I would do it without a working washing machine! So sorry to hear about your troubles with yours! They certainly are not made to last, it seems.

Good Morning All !
moms.. So happy you enjoyed your visit with your family ! Spend the day yesterday with niece and nephew… Trying to clear out their home…It is an overwhelming task ! The father was a hoarder and there is so much stuff… I have not been permitted in the home for 14 years so I didn’t realize how bad it was. The kids have been going through things and saving things that they want. Himself seems like he is taking after his dad and doesn’t really want to throw away anything ! Once he leaves to go back to OSU … won’t be returning to his home.. Really very sad.. My niece is returning to Seattle today and once they go the house will be turned over to their “aunt” on the dad’s side.
I googled goat names… that is how I named my goat !
Puma.. when my washer stopped working I you tubed the problem.. and most sites said it sounded like a lid switch… Looked easy enough to change but I opted to call repair place…She told me it would be the “12” th… I replied .. do you mean the 12th of never ! I have used this place before and after some discussion … they will be here tomorrow…Hopefully it will be an easy fix and not too expensive. Your pasta dish does sound Yummy !

Qos, you can make a bullet journal whatever you want or need it to be. If you need a day-to-day planner, you can search for daily layouts and see all the styles people have come up with. If you want a month calendar, you can find those too. I only have one book, but I put everything in it. I have the month on two big open pages, and the following pages are each week- tasks and appointments, and my 4-line-a day “diary” for each week. After the weeks are up, the next month calendar is drawn in. And if I come across another thing I want to add in, say, A list of all my Webkinz, their names and birthdates and the date I got them, I’d just stick it between planner pages and keep the calendar stuff going on the other side.
You can also make lists (I made a master list of Webkinz things I wanted to ask for in trade and buy in the eStore at one point in time. I have a master list of our favorite meals to refer to when meal planning. I have all my houseplants and their scientific names. Books I want to read, and have read, and when. I also make a page for each knitting project- kind of yarn, how many stitches, needle size, any modifications I made, where the pattern was from, etc.) You can track moods, menstrual cycle if need be, internet passwords, lists of gifts you want to remember to buy for someone.
It takes a little time to measure out how you want your pages to look, and I make a lot of mistakes- you can’t really be a perfectionist LOL. I use these journals: https://www.leuchtturm1917.us/notebook-classic.html Size A5, and dotted pages. This company offers actual “bullet journals”, but they only come in 3 boring colors! This style notebook is virtually indistinguishable from those bullet journals, AND they come in tons of bright colors!

I too still use a physical calendar. Similar to puma’s with a whole month spread out over two pages and daily pages after it.
