   dee.. really cold here too…20’s yesterday and windy but predicted to be in the 60’s on Saturday !

   moms…I am very happy you had a nice outing with your mom !
   Getting my haircut and colored on Friday.. really needs it ! Who knows maybe I will stop coloring soon but not sure yet… always is a great boost to have fresh color and cut !

   Computer locked me out when I went to log in yesterday ! It thinks I have already gone… They are not able to get me reinstalled until Friday…
   Until then … I am titled “helping hands” ! I may be sent home after procedures are finished at noon … which I guess isn’t all bad !

   It’s cold here today, too! High of 45 today; low of 28, I think. We were supposed to have snow this morning, but not a thing. One of my friends said she saw a flake at 5 a.m. (She must be related to Gaga….getting up that early!)

   Gaga – Are you still going to be an early riser once you retire?

   Dee – We don’t burn wood here, but I have a space heater by my side. The basement is colder than the rest of the house and it is where I have my office.

    Good Morning !

    Sheba… I think that I will always be an early riser ! Love getting up in the morning for few cups of coffee and some WW time ! Four days and counting !

    moms.. your comment #7 made me laugh ! I am hearing on the news and have seen it in the grocery stores that there is NO cream cheese available…particularly Philadelphia cream cheese ! One of my favorite Christmas foods which my sister has been every Eve is Pretzel Salad…Will have to start checking every store I shop… would be really missed if there was no salad… but really it is a dessert !
    Big boss was in the department yesterday… everyone is being fitted for N95
    masks… we all have been wearing medical masks since the onset… I guess our area is very much spiking right now ! Thankfully I won’t need to be fitted.

    dee what’s cookin these days ? Never see anything on your wishlist !

    the cream cheese shortage is real! i have what i need for now in the fridge, but i saw some actual Philadelphia brand at the grocery Sunday & almost bought another one just to have the back up then remembered that’s adding to the problem & didn’t 😀

    i was so thankful to get it for our layered pumpkin pies at thanksgiving

    is that the strawberry pretzel “salad” that you mentioned? that is SO good! i love how our mothers’ generation named anything with jello or cool whip “salad” 😆

    the bagel folks were complaining………we have cream cheese here

    i picked up all my christmas dinner stuff back in october, when i did my turkey day shopping……….just need fresh stuff

    but i have had extremely good luck finding things i can not find anywhere else at dollar generals and IGA grocers

    i am currently hunting butterscotch snak pak pudding cups for my dh
    and those will be my next trek

    you can google the IGAs i think……..sometimes they just go by the owners name

    My son & d-i-l went shopping for Christmas decorations last weekend and could hardly find anything. 🙁

    And Dee – you did warn us! But…I am such a last minute person.

    Gaga – Enjoy the Olive Garden! I also enjoy eating there! I bet you are glad that you don’t have to be fitted for those masks.

    Hey all!

    Bulking up the Family Score is expensive. -_- They’re eating me out of house and home LOL And I’ve never given so many baths!

    All my Christmas shopping and chores are done, except for cookies. And wrapping, but the planning and shopping are done! Kiddo is NAGGING all day for me to tell him what his presents are, and I keep singing “Surpriiiiiiiises…” He’s getting the Super Mario Lego Bowser’s Airship, and he’s going to be thrilled! If I had been thinking, I would have gotten him a new ‘Kinz for his Next account. Maybe for birthday ($30 a pop for a BeanieBoo-esque plushie? Eesh…).

    It’s so chilly and grey here lately- after a month of crystal clear sunny lovely late-fall-weather, winter arrived and now it’s chilly. I’m craving making fires in the fireplace, but we had our fireplace and chimney inspected this year (first time in 3 years- first year the house flooded and the next Kiddo broke his arm and last year it was too covid-y), and they said that the state of our chimney and fireplace is appalling and needs a full replacement and isn’t safe to be used. 🙁 The previous owners had it inspected before we moved in and the inspection came back fine, but according to the paperwork, it was only given the barest visual inspection. This place actually ran a drone up the flue and into the chimney to take pictures! But, after all that, they estimate $22,000 to fix everything!!?? EGADS. Welp, time for a second opinion, at the very least. But… later.

    I do think we can possibly upgrade to a gas burning fireplace for less than actually repairing our whole unit for woodburning! It’d be a little less charming without the crackle and pop and wood-smokey smell, but it’d make heat and hygge!

    Puma…WOW.. What a price tag to have your fire placed fixed ! Second opinion is certainly the best option… The Magic of Christmas… finding the perfect gift for your kiddo !

    moms.. still no computer access at work but they did deposit a paycheck… not sure what will happen for the next payday… System also not allowing me to punch in anymore….”unknown employee” ! 3 more working days !
    HImself called last night and has two finals today and one on Monday… he will then come home or somewhere for a month…. Is your ds close to coming home ? I am sure you are anxious too !

    dee.. another item that is impossible to find and has been for the past year is Claussen pickles ! Tried several available brands but didn’t care for them.. Always need a pickle on a burger !

    Sheba.. dinner was delicious… and it was so nice to visit with friends outside of work although it seems that is always the main subject ! So much turmoil in the department right now… our staff being pulled to different departments due to nursing shortage and they are tired of it… looking for jobs elsewhere or considering retirement too ! I don’t think I could work 8 plus hours in an N95 mask ! I don’t concentrate on NEXT… visit the site everyday but much prefer to spend my time on Classic…

    Boper… I am disappointed in Deluxe Wednesdays this month too…but have gotten some of the crackers in hopes of one particular bow… we’ll see.. bought a couple this morning but haven’t opened them yet.. seems like they know what you want and give out doubles of least favorites !

    Busy day today but am starting off with haircut and color which I desperately need ! Hope to “wrap up” my shopping for Christmas and enjoy the Season !
    Predicting severe weather early tomorrow morning for my county and adjacent county… makes me a bit worried only because of so many things to do on Saturday… hopefully their predictions don’t hold true !

    we redid our gas fireplace into wood burning with a ceramic/cast iron insert thing from norway or finland. they put a whole new chimney liner as part of it……..was not cheap, but not too expensive…….even got a rebate from fed govt and local electric company as it is energy efficient………pretty sure the fed is not doing the rebates anymore………but check and see……
    and cheap to me is five bucks………..so factor that too

    we got ours at one of those fireplace shops…….of course, i did not like any of theirs, so they had to order ours……..i wanted more glass versus just a stove front…….it is not the kind you cook on…….just sameish materials
