   stinkin keyboard

   just made up some grilled turkey sausage with leftovers peppers and onions from stir fry and added some steamed and quatered baby yukons……..sauteed/browned in olive oil, garlic and blackpepper

   smells wonderful…….ijust told dh that it would be fab chopped up with a fried egg on it like a hash!
   thawing my puff pastry for my project………hope all are well

   adrien – i would suggest hanging out & getting to know us some more before someone gifts something like that which is harder to find & costs real world $$ – please please do not take offense to me saying that, but i have seen people come in over the years & take advantage of some of our most generous people, so i am a little protective of the friends that we have here ♥ i think you’ll find that we are super generous 🙂

    EVERYONE I finally got a car!!! Now the next obstacle in my way is insuring it and replacing the windshield. Insurance places are only open the exact same hours I work. So I’m going to have to take some time off work to do it and right now it’s a really bad time and by doing so I feel like I would only be scre.wing myself over.

    No offense taken, Momkinz! I debated on whether or not to ask, and decided I wasn’t sure on the etiquette and might as well.

    Since we’re talking about cooking, I mentioned on the last thread that I’ve been craving mashed potatoes and gravy and don’t know how to make vegetarian gravy, and I tried today and it came out great! Started by sauteeing garlic and onions in until the onions were /almost/ caramelized, added a little bit of soy sauce, some Trader Joe’s “umami” seasoning (it’s mushroom based and I like using it to make vegetarian food savorier) and flour to make a roux, and then poured in some veggie broth and almond milk and let it simmer for a while. It was really tasty and especially satisfying while sick and craving childhood foods/the feeling of being cared for.

    I haven’t been doing a great time taking care of myself, to the point that sometimes I need my pet’s food meter and sleep meter to remind me that I need to eat and sleep too. I think Webkinz has really been genuinely helping me which is good, like Momkinz said, cheaper than therapy!

    moms.. so glad you asked what a sky raisin was ! I was wracking my brain trying to figure out if it was a bird ? a butterfly ? a mouse ?? Learned a new expression today ! Himself and I had a very nice time today shopping .. He must have tried on 30 pairs of jeans !! Who would have thought it would be so difficult…We did find one pair and he took my card and will order a few more pairs on line… Lunch was really good and gave a some time to chat and catch up on upcoming school year, new jobs and classes.
    dee.. anxiously awaiting for you to make your chicken pot pie and hear your review …
    ll… SO happy for you that you have finally gotten your car ! Hope it all works out and it lasts a long time and is dependable transportation for you.

    adrien – i was going to suggest you ask dee about the gravy, but it sounds like you came up with a great option! i love mushrooms – i would probably like that seasoning. glad it gave you the comfort you need! and ditto about Webkinz – it’s very soothing & the blog friends have become a major support for many of us – glad you found your way to us so we can be good – and bad – influences on you with webkinz

    dee – never have i ever heard of a sky raisin! LOL i did have a friend who called chipmunks tater tots because of her dog, so that’s what i named my webkinz chipmunk – and NO you can’t read too much! i go through a lot of books, but i like audiobooks & digital from the library – i mostly listen to audiobooks these days because i can do house chores, run errands, etc. and listen all along . . . i kept a list of books that i’ve enjoyed, so my sister has been reading through them while she is healing from surgery – she gets the paper ones from the library like you

    gaga – sounds like a super day! glad you found the jeans, now he can order the ones he likes & maybe even get some different washes

    moms.. I forgot that your sister was having surgery.. I hope her recovery is going well and she will be up and about soon ! My friend with the fx femur is finally home after 2 months in rehab…She is so happy to be in her own home but is finding it a bit challenging preparing meals and getting food on the table while keeping both hands on her walker…
    dee.. I am inspired by your recent quest to make ? c/d of your favorite music..
    Not exactly sure where to begin.. Since I am technologically challenged what do I need to get started… Not sure how to record music onto a c/d.. Any suggestions would be appreciated ! I am hearing that new cars do not have CD players and am just looking to future… Would be lost without one..
    adrien.. Hope you received KP without any glitches ? Sounds like you are dealing with some medical issues… Hope that they are not serious and you feel better soon.

    ask moms what the correct terminology is for a thumb drive…..i know they come in different data sizes………..
    just stick it in the computer and then stick a cd in the computer thing
    like i said , i got up a pop up at that point asking where i wanted the cd copy to go and i chose the drive for the thumb thing……….
    and tada
    oh yeah, do not forget to name it……….sorry, but i am really not savvy. I am still amazed that i figured out how to do this

    we have a desktop computer, but i believe the newer laptops have the spaces for the thumb drive……….BUT not all newer laptops have slots for cd/dvdz!

    dee.. thank you for the info.. I just found on my desktop that am able to use a c/d… Looking for port for thumb driver… Also do you know if you can record from You Tube ?? Really need to ask himself to come and help but I know he is busy…
    dee. the other question I have is once you have loaded some of the songs onto the thumb driver… do I need to get some kind of listening device for the car ?? or where ever I use the thumb driver ??

    LL- so glad you were able to get a car! Insurance is important. Sucks that you have to take time off from work to get it, but I’m sure your employer will understand.

    Dee- no such thing as reading too much. I have a Kindle and while I do have a library card, it’s only to get access to their online collection of ebooks and audiobooks. I try to read every evening sometime after dinner. And btw, it’s called a flash drive. Thumb drive works too though You need to have a USB import on your computer which most computers have. The only ones that don’t are the newest Macbook/Macbook Pros.

    Moms- do you need the three spree buildings?

    Gaga- you *can* download videos from youtube. Just search “youtube video downloader” on google. Use your best judgement though because it’s not really legal in the US :/

    But I really recommend just downloading Spotify (superior) or Youtube Music (also good) or Apple Music (meh) if you have an iPhone. They’re all $10/month subscriptions, but if you listen to lots of music or podcasts, it is worth it. Then you just connect your phone to your car on bluetooth, or an aux cable if your phone has a headphone jack. CDs are fun, but not super practical anymore given the other options out there

    Hello, everyone! More family coming in tonight! And some friends, too! Just set up a portable bed frame….doing lots of laundry (sheets), plus shirts. I want my dh to have a good selection of shirts to choose from for the family portrait. He told me today that he doesn’t really care if what he wears matches of not. He feels the important thing is the people & not the clothing. True, but….

    Adrien – I resisted for years buying Deluxe! I finally decided after seeing my dh spend money on sports & his hobbies that I shouldn’t feel guilty for spending a bit on my hobby. So….I bought a deluxe membership on Black Friday (at 50% off, I believe). Anyway, it has been great! No regrets! Oh, your gravy sounds delicious!

    AND you can use a phone to do this too, i do not have a smartphone or anything even close to a smart phone……………….it was a 4.99 tracfone
    had it for years………….no need to upgrade, it makes phone calls so it fills its purpose

This might sound like a dumb question, but how do people figure out all the new mystery items that come in these type of boxes?? Could there be more “surprise” items that aren’t pictured on this post? Just curious… I never buy mystery stuff anyway, but it’s always something that I’ve wondered.

    Good Morning All-

    Bought one planter box, got the wardrobe, which I was happy about as it matched the bed I already have.

    Adrien, it’s so nice to see another vegetarian on here. I will have to try that umami seasoning. The gravy recipe I use calls for marmite and I hate buying a jar to only use it once a year (Thanksgiving).

    LL so happy you found a car. Maybe you could call insurance on your lunch break,??? Either way, nice that you finally found something.

    Trying to keep up with ww, but also getting ready to drive dd across the country to school in a week. Hopefully it will be a little better for her this year having her car there. Although she still doesn’t love being so far away. And pretty sure I am in denial that it’s only a week away.

    Oh, and completely agree with boper, spotify is the way to go if that is an option.

    Otter- mostly just pooling information about what I & others open and we report into Discord. The seed boxes all have 8 items plus the planter/seed, so once we get to 8 we know that we found them all. Mystery bags are much different, they have anywhere from 12-20 items. We can get a rough idea of what’s in them because the webkinz “behind the scenes” programming (which we have access to) tells us whether an item will be sendable or not. This is helpful because all mystery items are always sendable, so we can make some guesses as to what might be in the bags. That was probably more info than you asked for

    boper – thanks for covering all of the flash drive/CD car info – i’m all about streaming & know gaga has a smart phone, not sure about bluetooth, etc. on her car, but that’s the move gaga – himself should be able to help with that pretty easily . . .

    also gaga – sounds like your friend needs to put a tray on the walker! my sister has definitely had to get creative

    ll – congrats on the car! if you can’t do the insurance stuff online, surely work can give you a break to make a call???

    QoS – so glad you’re getting him shirt options – it is the people, but no need for the clothes to distract from the faces – might as well be pleasing to the eye, Mr. QoS! LOL you’re going to be tired after all of this company, but i’m so glad you are enjoying time with the grands ♥

    cmpets – i am dreading back to school so also in denial here – my college kid is a 7-8 hour drive away 🙁

    otterkinz – i can let the pros say more about how they know what’s in the box, but some is based on the webkinz databases & some is based on what people report from the boxes – in this case, there’s very little chance that there’s something not shown in these particular boxes. sometimes when it is a very new item, there’s a bit of time figuring out for sure everything in a box
