Good Morning ! Sounds like everyone had a nice Valentine’s Day… Getting prepared for the snow … Lightly snowing now and expecting major snow overnight… Just hope I can get out of my driveway in the morning… usually leave at 6… and the company who plows the development don’t rise and shine very early ! Seems like the deluxe family account expired over the weekend… very disappointed that Ganz cancelled that type of membership… Too bad they don’t realize some money is better than no money !! Won’t be renewing that account ! Will head out to do a couple of nearby errands… and tuck back in for the day. Chants.. happy to hear that everything went well for your roommate. moms and tmt .. Steak is one of my favorites.Decided on spaghetti so I wouldn’t have to grill in snow/cold but ended making some grilled chicken for take home care packages. dee.. thanks for the info on community challenge .. but seems like the prizes are not new ?? Will play anyway ! Batten down the hatches !!
hey oh i am still here………read a book and now am roasting chicken in the oven with electricity
it is a mess here……….we can see the county road in winter, which is a main thoroughfare, and i have seen two cars all day…………i feel bad for those essential kroger and walmart workers……….ya know? we had ice rain for about three hours straight………dhs car looks like a popsicle. mine is in the garage of course. weird as the sound it makes hitting the windows. kittiez no likey
Lots of snow coming our way as well. I feel cheated out of a snowday because all the local schools have a snowday tomorrow but we already had the day off for mid winter break. I shouldn’t be complaining because I’m only working 2 days this week since I’m taking Friday and next Monday off for interviews. … speaking of which… I have a problem. It’s a good problem. But still a problem. I applied to a bunch of schools hoping that at least one school would accept me. Now I have two acceptances and two more schools I have a very good chance at, which leaves me with options. Today I interviewed with a program that I LOVE, but the funding options are low, meaning I will need to take out A LOT of loans to pay for it. I already have undergrad loans btw. Later this week I will be interviewing with a program that is good, but I mostly applied to as a back up. However, if I got accepted, I’d have nearly full funding and the only loans I’d have to take out would be to cover part of my living expenses for 2 years. I didn’t expect to have a lot of schools interested in me, especially since this application cycle was a lot more competitive than in previous years.
I forgot to mention the most important part: regardless of where I go to school, I will be getting a cat! This is super important! I miss having a cat.
Hello, all! Brrrrr! I’m so cold reading about all the weather possibilities for many of you!
Choco – How nice that you have all those options! Hopefully, you will be able to find a place that allows a cat. My dh rents a few rooms/apartments to students and he doesn’t allow cats, even though he would like to! So many people have cat allergies and it is just easier to transition apartments over if you don’t have to deal with the pet factor.
LL – Yeah…I remember working hard for those scrub outfits! But I’m glad for the opportunity to get more!
We had a great weekend with my folks. Even though we had snow we went anyway. I could tell that it meant a lot to them.
I saw on the news about the 100+ car pile up in TX. So sad for those that lost loved ones and/or got injured.
Stay safe, Dee! Gaga, you too! I hope you make it to work okay! Sorry about that family deluxe account! 🙁
Moms – hope your friend doesn’t lose electricity.
I think it is time to snuggle under some warm blankets! Goodnight!
Good Morning All ! moms.. stopped watching the weather… Made me too nervous ! I did call the management company yesterday because I was worried about getting out of my garage… lots of snow but will venture out shortly… dee.. I too am happy you have not lost power..stay safe and warm ! Choco … congrats on all of the acceptances.. Seems like a difficult decision but all you can do is sit down.. weigh all pros and cons and then make your decision. Sheba.. so happy you were able to visit to visits your parents.. I am sure it meant so much to them ! ♥ Hope you all stay safe if you have to go out and if you don’t……..stay warm !
choco – ditto what dee said – ultimately you want to get the degree to earn a living, and paying loans is sacrificing that – if you can get the same degree, don’t “go broke” doing it
if you love the program that much, explain to your contact in your department & see if they have an scholarships – i know we found a lot of departments had money at their discretion to award for their specific department of study
Good Morning Looks like the whole country is having severe weather ! Hope you all are safe and have power ! Was able to get out of my driveway yesterday…gunned it ! No signs of plows in the development.. They were working when I came home in the afternoon ! Not acceptable. I guess there was about 8 inches on the ground and still snowing when I arrived at work… All staff and patients arrived as well. I am hearing that another storm is heading this way tomorrow… dee.. I agree with you about the groundhog ! moms.. thanks for the heads up about cottages for Wednesday… looks like they have not programmed them yet. Hope you all have a good day !

I can’t believe they are practically giving away the scrubs now. I worked so hard to complete the challenges for them.

gaga – i just saw on the weather channel that you are predicted to get 12-18″ of snow this week
i feel for the people of TX because they are so unprepared & for everyone with ice because it is so damaging – lots of power & water issues
dee – it looks like you might have some significant weather, too – i am hoping for snow, not ice, but let us know
severe thunderstorms & possible tornados in southern AL, GA, & northern FL
is everyone safe & sound???
tmt – hope your steak was as delicious as ours ♥
chantt – glad the procedure went well & they catered to you for valentine’s

Someone asked on an earlier post (Dee maybe?) what my field of study was. I’m going into school psychology.
