Haunted House
In podkinz 148, they showed us the Haunted House prize for collecting all of the candies from the ghost in the Haunted Reading Room October 20 – 31. I think this “room design” that Michael shared on the podkinz with the Haunted House & Cemetery Gate (Oct. Deluxe Challenge Prize) is creative.

Yep! I am working hard now! Wrapping up some laundry, starting dishwasher, heading upstairs to read before bed.
It’s nice to hear how your moms are doing (Gaga & Moms). My m-i-l is enjoying assisted living. She gets to eat her meals in a dining room (one at a table), but still she gets to see people and she isn’t responsible for the cooking. I thought she might not like it because she loves to cook. And I’m sure she misses some aspects of independent living. But overall, she likes seeing people. If we visit, we have a clear partition between us outside and are masked.
You are fortunate to have all that pantry space, moms!
Did I tell you all that I did Get Organized HQ 2020 a couple of weeks ago? It was five days of workshops (virtual). I went for free which meant I had to watch the workshops I was interested in on the day or within 24 hours. Or I could pay and have access all year. I’ll probably do the latter next year. It was intense. Anyway, I worked on my bedroom last week. Mainly my closet, dresser & armoire that I keep my stuff in. I got rid of one large black trash bag and 3 equivalent to white kitchen bags….full of clothing (mostly mine). I just did a quick “declutter”, but I need to do another round. I have clothes in my closet that I’m embarrassed to say how long….but I finally got rid of dress that I wore at my sister’s wedding, almost 35 years ago. I think I only wore it one time after the event. I haven’t sorted through my shoes yet and I only touched the surface of my scarf collection. However, that’s on hold for now.
Tomorrow I hope to bake a cake because we have been invited to some friends’ house to an outdoor gathering (total of 4) on Sunday and I am bringing dessert. We haven’t seen them in Years! 10? Anyway, I guess it takes a pandemic. It will be our 2nd get together as a couple with people outside of our immediate family since February. It is supposed to rain, so we discussed if we are all okay with moving indoors, which we are. I’m hoping it doesn’t rain, though.
Nice that you have a fireplace, Dee! We have two, but we haven’t used them ever! I want them to be cleaned before we do. But no plans for that in the future. Right now we are looking at replacing our windows. Rather pricey, I’m afraid.

Hope you have a nice time at your upcoming dinner with friends ! What kind of cake are you planning to bake ? Hang on to your scarves ! They are very hard to find right now and they seem to remain fashionable..
moms.. was wondering if you are allowed to take your mom out to lunch or just an outside visitation ? Happy to hear she is somewhat settled for now..
Did you happen to see the group of nuns in Miami who are avid Miami Heat fans? The national news show a clip of them actually playing basketball in their full habits including the old fashion headdress ! They were really pretty good ! Not too many orders have those habits anymore.
Sounds like the Heat is trying to make a run of the finals !

and anyone in the usa attending college for 2021-2022 school year
fafsa opened up on the first
i forgot as we no longer have to deal with that!
and plan ahead…………….
for example ; if you have a kid in college and another one in high school, or you are going………….add those folks up and make sure you put them in the box for number of household members attending college!
and even if you do not think you will get any money, you will get your EFC
and i know dds school used the fafsa data when it awarded grants and scholarships so keep that in mind………..

Gaga = planning to make pineapple upside down cake from scratch. But I don’t think I have the cherries. Just trying to make stuff from what I have at home.
I didn’t realize scarves were hard to come by. I have heard that lumber is in demand due to all the home projects during pandemic.
I’m so over the isolation….trying to hang in there, but barely….
And Dee…..just think…you have an extra day! LOL! It’s Saturday! Glad to be done with FAFSA.

gaga – my fav nba player is now on the heat & i’m tickled by tyler herro – he’s so young! LOL i’m pulling for the heat i guess, but i don’t really care which team wins – sort of would be cool for the lakers this year with kobe’s passing . . . but jimmy butler deserves a championship – he definitely has a champion’s heart for the game

My cake flopped, but I’m going to take it anyway. I flipped it onto decorative tray successfully, but when I took the pan of the cake cracked down the middle.

Yeah….a little bit stuck to the pan, so my husband and I tasted it and it is delicious! I offered to serve it warm and make another dessert for tomorrow, but he knows that I’m not a fan of baking….so he said no. But I did have another recipe in mind that it so easy! (Cherry Crisp)
Btw, it is a small cake in a square pan! I didn’t want to make a large cake because that would be too tempting. And I really would like to take off the pounds that I have gained since spring.

moms I will have to check out Tyler Herro.. I really don’t have any strong feelings about who wins..I am following the nuns story though.. I am only sorry D. Wade no longer plays for the Heat… one of my favorite players…Have watched a show about his life and loved it ! Catch it if you have the opportunity !

minestrone is in the crockpot
never made it before and have only ever had it at olive garden
so my healthy versions should be interesting!
no meat in it and can be vegan by simply using veg stock
which reminds me i need stock!
yeah yeah yeah, i can make my own
but kroger has it on sale for 1.99 and that is cheaper than it costs to make it
