   checking in
   hoo doggy, i sweated today
   we went hiking of course, because it is 90 flippin degrees……….i planned ahead this time and had both of my pockets filled with water bottles!

   off to home tomorrow……..sad to leave, but glad to get back to our normal
   lots of plans for our next visit!
   will be gabbing starting monday for sure………
   just want to get home and thaw something!
   saw some pork chop with mustard/apples/onions recipe before i left

    Good Morning All !
    Grandma001.. Thanks for asking about my mom… received letter from facility yesterday… All employees and residents are awaiting results of Covid test..
    Strict isolation ….Has been since March 18th since I have actually been in the same room and able to visit….No end in sight as far as being able to go back to visiting…
    moms..Trying to stay positive about everything.. Shopped a beef tenderloin at grocery store…Making a really special dinner today… Sunday dinners are winding down…Himself will be heading back to OSU in a few weeks..will miss him so much…I guess the highlight of the day was watching To Sir With Love Such a great movie !
    dee… Happy you are enjoying your visit with your dd ! Hiking in 90 degree heat doesn’t sound like too much fun though ! Have a safe trip home.
    ll… Will have to go back and see if I can find what else is available for log in prizes… Also noticed Daisy Diner is giving away a new food !
    April… Looking forward to the return of football… not sure how it’s all gonna work but need something to look forward to on Sunday… Saw on the national news last night that a player for KC Chiefs is opting out of playing this season and instead will be taking care of patients for his home country of Canada..
    has the blessing of the NFL ! Can’t remember his name but inspirational just the same !

    I know I don’t comment anymore, but I do check once in awhile to see how everyone is doing. I always hope that everyone and their family & friends are staying healthy and happy.     My heart goes out to Gaga and those of you who can’t even see your parents now. I was so blessed to be able to have my parents here with me when they were no longer able to be independent. I know that everyone doesn’t have that option.

    gaga – i hope today was lovely

    it is hard not spending time with my mom, but we have gotten really good and staying connected with facetime & 8×8 – i had to call her this morning to tell her that one of her friends died from covid. that was hard, but it was in a way a good reminder to stay the course, be diligent at keeping her well, and how blessed we are to have each other . . .

    Speaking of parents…..I’m heading north to visit mine this week! They still live in their own home and haven’t made the transition to retirement facilities. Things will be picking up for me (I think) with class prep in August, so even though I usually go in August to visit them, I decided to go earlier. That said, I will miss the wishing well challenge! Was glad that Boper chimed in to say that it isn’t a new trophy. So I don’t feel bad about missing it! I will have my i-pad, but it doesn’t give me full access to Webkinz. 🙁 And do I dare download the Webkinz app on my dad’s PC? 🙂 Not sure! My mom wants me to help go through his office! (I got my paper cluttering problem from him, so I’m not sure I will be much help!)

    A big thanks to the Secret Santakinz! Love my Christmas in July gifts! Woo hoo!

    Gaga – thanks for reminder about new food in Daisy’s Diner!

    Moms – How nice that your mom is okay with technology. My mom won’t touch a computer or barely a mobile phone.

    Dee – Glad you trip went well! Not sure about hiking in hot weather, though!

    Like Grandma001 I had trouble with the trees, until I figured out that they had to be w-shop trees.

    I should be around to do some of the Wacky stuff!

    Still haven’t heard anything about work. The district is supposed to announce their reopening plan in august. If i’m not working this fall/year I may look into tutoring or something like that.
    Momz – did you go to the aquarium in Atlanta? Me and my dad want to go there some day. We like watching the show about that aquarium on animal planet. Lots of interesting critters there.

    Good Morning !
    dee… happy you are home and had a nice time with dd !
    Grandma001.. Your parents were so lucky you were able to take them in with you and share their final days..Awaiting results of Covid test.. My mom developed some respiratory symptoms on Friday .. Sore throat..cough.. and shortness of breath with exertion..She did not get out of bed yesterday..I stopped with some home made chicken noodle soup and a few other things..
    I peered into her window..she was not sitting in her chair.. I started to walk away and an aid came to the window and pointed to the next window.. I peered in..
    saw my mom lying and bed all huddled under a blanket.. We waved to each other…cried most of the way home.. I am very worried.
    I called to speak to the nurse..told me that the families would be notified by administration when results available.. and mentioned that my mom was refusing the breathing treatments that had been ordered.. The doctor will be in “sometime” this week to see her.
    Sheeba.. enjoy your visit with your parents ! Will you be away for all of Wacky Week ? … So much to think about when planning for the kids to return to school ! I hope the decisions are made to keep teachers and students as safe and healthy as possible.
    moms.. had a very nice dinner with himself and my sister..Tenderloin was delicious ! Most of our conversation was returning to OSU and what he needs to get ready to head off for fall semester…He is trying to plan his move in date so that he can spend his Birthday with us for last Sunday dinner !
