moms… WOW .. can’t believe that they are allowing residents to leave..for an outing…Received a letter today from facility… now have 44 cases and 5 staff testing positive…I think I had mentioned before but they are setting up visitation outside with some kind of barrier… ? starts end of the week. My brother participated in the care conference call this morning…( by phone ) My mom has hung up on me every time I have called for past three weeks…I have given up… very upsetting..she will need to reach out to me if she wants to talk..

Re: my hair…is typically shoulder length. I used to always wear it long, but I’m done with that! Or maybe not! LOL!
We decided not to travel to visit my parents. Several states away and we were planning a day trip to avoid sleepover. However, on memorial day we visited our youngest son who lives a little over an hour away from us. We had an outdoor picnic on his deck. It was very special and cozy. We brought most of the food and he supplied sweet tea & ice cream. AND….I actually baked some Oatmeal Raisin Cookies. I can’t remember the last time that I baked cookies. I do know that the last time I baked oatmeal raisin cookies all five of our kiddos lived at home. Plus, at a different location. I really don’t like to bake. Oh….my dh reminded me that I did make Amish cookies about three or four years ago.
Tulip Troubles is okay. I average around 28 KC. Not quite as good as Bepsy!
Not a huge fan of pet buddies, but I am obsessive about completing challenges. LOL!

moms.. I talked with the facility yesterday… will be quite a while before visitation will be allowed as it once was… Coming soon… outdoor visits !
I purchased a few Summer bags but opened one… Received a Soccer Cottage…Nautical Bear Slide .. some random wallpaper and museum dinosaur display…
Remains very warm here and A/C not working in procedure room yesterday..
Maintenance checked out the situation… must order a part…Adding the weight of lead skirt/vest makes it a bit more uncomfortable….

good – i’m glad on the limits on visits – my mother was asking why they can’t be “free” in the building – i reminded her if the staff didn’t leave & return they could let the residents free in the facility with no one allowed in, but that isn’t a good idea with staff leaving. she accepted that & is fine for now – glad i got her content again for a little while. we also surprised her yesterday evening – i told her to walk out on her balcony & we had driven up by the courtyard & waved & blew kisses
the staff keeps telling her how spoiled she is when they deliver my dropoffs up to her – no one else seems to be getting as many deliveries, so that makes her happy too 😆 almost every time i include some sort of little “surprise” for her – a treat – or something i’m guessing she is out of but has forgotten to ask – just something she would like & doesn’t expect
i’m sorry your mom hasn’t been talking with you – i am so thankful mine doesn’t have that kind of stubborn streak when it comes to me 😀

my neighbor makes some awesome oatmeal raisin cookies then puts a scoop of ice cream in the middle to make ice cream sandwiches that are the BEST! i wonder if i she will share her recipe with me???
the picnic sounds like a great time! we could do something like that with my inlaws – they aren’t really following rules anymore & have spent a lot of time with my bil’s family, so that really opens up their exposure . . .
i agree about tulip troubles – not my favorite, buddies aren’t that big of a deal to me, but i like to complete each challenge at least once . . . it would be VERY hard for me to skip one if i don’t have the prize 😳 i’ll probably do this one – one & done!
dee – how was that crisp? do i need to post that recipe? i don’t know what recipes i’m missing over there on the blog recipes, i need to check . . . i need to put that bread stuff back on my list, too – no luck with me finding more disinfecting wipes or charmin yet – not out so not worried, but i have restocked paper towels after almost running out, so i’m happy about that
i typically buy that stuff every few months, so it’s just coming up on that time, but i’m not running out in the short term. i’m also not going to stores at opening or anything (need to save those for the people who need them now), i am just checking when i do go or order because dh needs them for his office & is stocking from my cleaning cabinet & my mom needs tp – keeping her set with my supply too for now

gaga—so sorry about your mom not speaking to you. That’s got to be hard and not really fair to you. I know this stuff is stressful and everybody reacts differently. I hope things improve. I hope they get the A/C fixed soon, that sounds miserable. We had a good weekend. Was supposed to rain, but it ended being sunny and hot. Instant summer. A lot of yard work and grilling. Stella had a blast. There is a female turkey that’s been just hanging around lately. I see her slow roll through the front yard almost every morning. Dh had the gate open to mow the lawn and he went back outside and she was in the backyard. LOL Dh just tried to ignore her so he didn’t spook her. She slowly moseyed through the back, hopped up on the wood pile and jumped the fence. Thankfully, Stella wasn’t outside or I’m sure we would have seen her fly. I bet it was wonderful to have Sunday get together again. Glad himself felt safe enough to be there as well.
dee—My Whirley Pop just arrived. Can’t wait to try it out tonight after Taco Tuesday…that turned into Taco Wednesday. 🙂 Which almost didn’t happen at all, as dh took ground pork out of the freezer instead of beef. Now the beef is defrosting, and we will be having pork burgers this weekend. We forgot tomatoes too. Isn’t it funny how now we just do without. I told dh we could drain a can of diced tomatoes if he really wanted some.
moms—Glad your mom is hanging there and it’s so nice to be able to spoil our loved ones. Thanks for the reminder about codes!

I tried making my own pizza dough a few weeks ago. It was terrible. Tasted like stale beer. I’ve tried several time before to make pizza dough, I’m no good at it. A lot of bad words were said, but that was while we were trying to eat it. LOL
I was glad to have dh home and now I’m looking forward to him leaving again next week! hahahaha

Hi everyone! I’ve been kind of lurking..trying to read and catch up!
Things are OK here. But they started phase 1 of opening things..and according to a friend on police force, not good. .I was told that people have gone crazy, and they are busier then usual. I’m scared they are opening stuff too soon here. I don’t forsee any real relief here because too many aren’t taking it seriously!! I’ve already seen large groups of people, which right now is actually against the law here. Not sure anyone is going to really be safe until they have a vaccine. Sad, but true.

Moms, I’m sorry about your mom too. It isn’t easy having a family member in one of those facilities, in fact it sucks the big one!
I cringe at the thought of having to put either of my parents in one, but I know it could happen. Though I have a suspicion that both will make the 100 mark just fine! They are both determined to do so! Lol my dad is going to be 92 in june, and my mom is 84.
Both still act much younger!

My dad is a mechanic, and YES, he still works on cars..EVERYDAY. he’s amazing! Hes married to a woman whos more then 20 years younger, and um, he likes to brag about things no child wants to hear theirvparents do behind closed doors!! Lmbo Mom walks for exercise with her dog everyday it’s nice enough to. And she lives in an apartment by herself, and does all her own cleaning, cooking, laundry. And she’s an avid webkinz player too! She pretty computer savvy too! I know how lucky I am that they are still here. And this danged virus is stealing away time from all of us! Makes me angry!

I’ve been trying to keep up with outside yard work, and tommorrow I need to harvest first crop of rhubarb, and soon I’ll be overwhelmed with blueberries! Everything is early this year!
We aren’t doing a veggie garden here because dh boss has a huge garden he invited us to share! All I have to do is process tomatoes and make sauce for him and his wife, and us here. Which is fine by me! I’m looking forward to having access to FREE organic veggies! Dh boss has become a close friend, and we have grown like family helping each other. I still can’t get over the fact he held a job open for my dh for 2 YEARS!

I was pretty bummed about the launch today! Waited all day…and nothing! Hopefully sat. It will go up. Last time I watched live was when I lived in Florida and challenger was going up with the teacher on board. I actually saw it from my porch. And I saw it explode. I knew it was bad. Went back in to look at tv and heard what happened. I did get a kick out of seeing how the new rocket is reusable. And I wonder if in my lifetime I’ll see people going for rides around the earth just for fun.

Good morning!
Just popping in say hi! It’s been an interesting week so far… Family member decided to travel to Florida a couple of days ago for “vacation” now that things are opening up again. He said he wasn’t feeling well when he telephoned yesterday, so we will see what happens with that… All of us here have been doing some major spring cleaning these last few days. I was so preoccupied yesterday that I didn’t even log in to do dailies and such until 11:00 PM! You wouldn’t believe how much stuff I sorted and bagged up!! Monday was obviously Memorial Day, but it was also a special anniversary, too. So, we had an “appropriate-for-the-current-pandemic” celebration that day. Today is yet another important day. It is the first posthumous birthday of my dear loved one since his passing last year. On the one hand, it’s a happy day because it was the day he was BORN and gifted us with his presence, his smile… But I’m also really sad that he’s not here to celebrate this milestone with all his family and friends. So, I’m kind of in one of those funks today, you know? I still wanted to post something here, though, because I realized I hadn’t posted in a while. That said…..
GRANDMA and MOMS – Thank you SO much for the incredibly generous gifts you both sent my way!!! As I said before, I’ve been pretty busy with cleaning and such during the past week, so I didn’t get a chance to open your gifts until today (I hope you guys didn’t think I forgot or just neglected to thank you!). I am truly so grateful to both of you for helping with my Wish List and making my dreams of owning some of the previous Spring items in WW a reality!! You are both such special ladies!!!!! Unfortunately, I don’t have the Backyard Living Summerhouse that’s on your Wish List, moms (I rarely buy mystery bags/boxes), and I haven’t a clue what you might like or want, Grandma. I went through my dock from A-Z to try and find something nice for each of you, but I mostly just have “ordinary” things. I remember a little while back, moms, that you were asking about the “Beyond Be-leaf Cactus” item so I sent you one of those and two rares I’m hoping you might be able to have some use for right now. Grandma, I sent you some garden type rares that I think you might like. Both of you feel free to pass along the items I sent if you don’t want them. You won’t hurt my feelings! After all, sharing IS caring!!
That’s all I have for right now… I read all the comments on this post, but they didn’t really process because I haven’t slept. My insomnia has been extra bad lately. I don’t know if it’s been about today (knowing it was coming up) or something else. I guess I’ll just have to wait and see if there’s any improvement tomorrow.

I think they are delicious! Not a fan of raisins, but dh was asking for oatmeal raisin cookies, so that is why I made them. I could not find my recipe from years ago. (Another project waiting to be done among many). I would have tried the first recipe that popped up when I googled it, but it called for molasses and I didn’t have any. WELL, yesterday I went through my pantry and organized and found two bottles of molasses. My suspicions are that they were outdated, so I just threw them away. I found lots of things that I didn’t think that I had. LOL! I also organized three kitchen cabinets (food, mostly). Blame it on NOT wanting to do the things on my list for this week!
Finished two tulip challenges (one for dd and one for granddaughter). Will try to finish mine and maybe two or three more. I don’t know why, but I don’t experience anxiety with this game as someone mentioned earlier. I’m just glad there isn’t a spider. LL – How amazing that your high score is 9,000! Wow and Wow!

Not bothering with the tulip game. It was tolerable on my old laptop because it had a touchscreen but without that I’m not playing it.
I can’t believe it’s almost June! I guess time goes by fast when you’re doing nothing and only vaguely aware of what day it is.

my mom & i both agree she is exactly at the right place for her – it’s probably better for our relationship, and she loves the independence but companionship & activities there
she’s pretty happy, & i am SO thankful it is even an option!
