moms—you made me lol, I had childhood flashbacks of my mom braiding my pigtails so tight they stayed in for a week! LOL And you certainly deserved movie night! You mom saying she was good and didn’t need to see you in the courtyard made me smile too. My aunt would be the same way! Thanks for the new post…there is a lot going on!
gaga—I’m so happy you got to ‘see’ your mom!!! That is so sweet she was standing by the window just to see you. That had to bring some relief and joy in these strange times. I hope you can celebrate in person with her for her birthday in May. That storm must have just missed us the other night. It rained but wasn’t a big storm. Glad it wasn’t more serious there.
sheba—nope! Haven’t even started gathering the tax stuff! Since they changed filing date to July I’m procrastinating again. lol Maybe this weekend if it rains. Yes, we are old school for Easter menu this year. Scalloped potatoes just taste so good with ham.
LL—Can I send my tax stuff to you this year? LOL Actually, once I have everything in order it’s not to bad, just hate trying to track it all down.
dee—not so sure about the Stella cam. You would most certainly end up with an eye full of Dh. He grew a creepy mustache and does work Zoom meetings in his underwear! LOL We feel the same way. Everything just seems on hold right now. Can’t do home improvement stuff without going to a store and dh just gets the basics at the store once a week.

Hey Dee! I saw a woman doing that to people..getting close, I thought she was doing it on purpose…she seemed to think everything was funny….one guy she did it to lost it and went off on her..she just laughed and walked away. Makes you just want to slap the person…cause its so not funny.
I went 6am, and the store had like 5 to 7 other shoppers total! And as I was picking up TP, an older guy, without mask or gloves, tried to chat me up!!! I was nice and asked him to keep distance please..and that I was sorry, but I didn’t have time to chat. I felt bad, but seriously, he shoukd have known better!

And yes its safe to use your measuring spoons..I routinely use bleach on dishes to sanitize when someone is sick in house. We are all disabled, and have breathing issues, so I try to make sure we don’t pass illness to each other.. though a diswasher would work, but, I don’t own a dishwasher…I AM the diswasher… lol

Lol…as to decon..you should see my routine! Let’s just say, IF I catch it…it will not be my fault! As to carts?? I carry big can of lysol in car. Cart gets sprayed before I even enter the store! Then all items get wiped and put in sanitized bags in trunk, gloves get sanitized, then I spray myself with lysol. Then I take mask and gloves off and get in car. Then I also do the strip at door and put clothing in bag, take to washer, then shower thing.

And yes, you can spray yourself with lysol, as long as you go home and take a shower after..my routine was dr. Approved.!
He saud he was more worried for my dh then me..which is WHY dh can not go to stores at this time. He’s not liking my routine. Or the fact that I enforce it very strongly…a girls gotta do what she gotta do! Lol

I can’t get to the store and tried ordering Easter stuff on Amazon too late for delivery for Easter. I wanted my grandkids to have something special from me.
It is the first year I won’t be with them. My son in law said I am welcomed, but I am conflicted and too scared to take the risk.

I had a glitched where after I clicked on my floating medallion it didn’t disappear. So I click on it again and got the egg prize, did that 4 more times and was able to get all my egg prizes in seconds.

I’m tired of cooking everyday too! But no way am I doing take out or delivery…not right now.
And moms, I don’t understand why some people have the need to get close …I just want to yell at them. I’ve has a few brush on me when there was plenty of space to get by without doing so, it’s not only rude, but these days can be dangerous. None of my family are seeing each other. And the only time I see my mom is through the glass of her door as I drop off groceries! I cry when I leave cause I can’t take the chance of hugging her. We talk on phone everyday…just not the same. But I’d rather keep her germ free and alive.. and so no contact right now. She’s being brave, she knows it for her own good. But it still hurts.

Good Morning All !
Finally Friday ! Was able to get three days of work in this week… The few patients that came to the office all had their masks and gloves on ! Everyone else has been seen virtually…
Have enjoyed catching up on what is happening in your real world !
Local nursing facility on the news last night… 13 cases of virus .. making me even more nervous about all the elderly in other facilities..

No plans for Easter… Will be almost like any other day… All of my family are staying at home… which I guess is what they should be doing !…

dee- we all had our webkinz wearing socks and had a “party” where we chatted for a while and got as many people as we could to join us lol. The eggs I am looking for are the 2018, 2016, 2012, and 2011 milk chocolate eggs, as well as any white chocolate eggs I can get a hold of. Unfortunately, I am pretty sure those are not tradeable, so the only way I know to get them is with the rainbow frosting recipe.

waaay back when, easter was a big deal with family and new clothes and all of that………but dh and both up and joined the service when we were young and have never lived near family……….i think i was home once for christmas in a fifteen year span………..ya just make do when you are out on your own
we always had the single airmen (and women) over for any and all holidays, just to get them out of the barracks………..

I’ve had to ask/tell people to back up. I had a guy who kept going right where I was it became obvious he was doing it on purpose and trying to act like it was an accident and funny. So, the last time he did it.(this made sure it was the last time) I spun my cart around “oops”

I’m loving the comments Chant/dee/Gwenda! Taser or knock ’em over with the cart! You wonder what people are thinking sometimes. Mid March when this all started a lady at Target stood right up behind me in line. Thankfully I had a cart and I moved beside it. Standing close to me will not make the line move faster! Glad a lot of places put markers on the floor for people. When dh gets home from the store I make him put his clothing directly in the washer and wash up. Then I wipe every grocery item with a disinfectant wipe and then all the counters, door knobs, etc. Then I get the inside of the truck.
gaga—wonderful news about OH flattening the curve! Scary about the nursing homes, glad your mom is in safe one. I’m hoping they give away a white egg through a code or something. Will try and get a cute (or not lol) pic of Stella with her Easter stuff tomorrow. 🙂
KGH—We are staying home as well. I know it’s really tough right now not being able to see family. I tried ordering some Easter things for nieces and nephew, but two weeks ago was too late. Because I got bronchitis right after Christmas, I’ve missed Christmas with my family and all three of my nieces birthdays. We will also miss my aunts birthday which is early May. We joke that we are going to have one heck of a party when we can see each other again.

we are fine
went to the farmers house and bought cauliflower and broccoli, dh bought some of his salsa (that he liked) and he also had seedling plants, so i bought some zucchini and jalapenoes………went for a walk……..i think i walked at least five miles this week………and i did not get anywhere

but the farmer had GOBS of fresh grown stuff…….he has several green houses……….so check our area………i found my farmer on facebook on our local county buy and sell page…….oh yeah and we stopped for gas on the way back and i went into an IGA…………just to look around, did not touch anything………they had stacks and stacks of tp and paper towels………

someone was there when we got there and he and i waited til he was finished, then we entered the driveway……….did wash up in truck and once we got home.
i read somewhere food is safe, plus we wash everything anyways. brought my own plastic bag………….but man oh man……..i was buggin dh about how all these restaraunts are open doing takeout……….then all the workers are in there……….WHY?
and more, but i will email……………..do you have any leftover takeout or microwave dinner ware moms?……………..if not, me being me, would prepackage everything separately, then give her a pretty plate to heat it up/eat off of……………and some kind of easter candy…….just cuz

Dee – apparently they’re supposed to start limiting what we can buy here in MI too. Don’t really agree with that one, too much of an overreach if you ask me. Who gets to decide what is essential and nonessential? If you’re already at the store for “essentials”, why can’t you buy a few others things? One could argue that some of the things they want to limit, like plants, could be “essential” for mental health as it gives you something to do besides being cooped up in your house. Plus you could grow your own food.
Don’t know how I feel about that boats. If you’re on the water and dock it at your house that’s one thing, but a lot of people keep their boats docked at friend’s or relative’s houses, or at a boat club, so they would have to be around other people to get access to the boat, which could be a problem.

They limited certain items here weeks ago, but not always super forceful on actually enforcing the limit. Nonetheless, it has helped and product is able to stay on the shelves longer.

I’m not talking about them limiting qualities of high demand items, they’ve been doing that for the past month and it’s working pretty well. Right now they are banning the sale of items that they deem to be “nonessential”. Gardening items being the main one talked about and I don’t quite understand why that one is the face of the discussion? I’m not sure what other categories of items will be included but I know they won’t just stop at gardening supplies. The rationale behind it is that it will keep people from wandering the stores. Fair enough, people shouldn’t be wandering around in the store, you should try to get in and out quickly. However, I think this is going a bit too far. Who gets to decide what is and isn’t essential? What may seem like it is nonessential to some may be essential to others. If you’re already at the store for essentials why can’t you just grab a few other items? “Essentials” are scattered all over the store so unless they condense everything to a small section (which would cause more people to be close together) people are gonna be all over the store anyways.

Stopped yesterday to drop some things to my mom…. Multiple police cars with
flashing lights… pulled over thinking … what the heck did I do wrong ??
However.. they were leading a parade of decorated cars… with none other than the Easter bunny riding in a convertible throwing out candy to neighborhood..
several decorated cars… ending with the fire truck…!!
Nice idea for the kids !

Stella wishing everyone a Happy Easter! The egg hunt didn’t work very well…she was way too interested in the real bunnies and birds outside. Inside, she just tried to crack open the plastic eggs with her jaw…so that was the end of that. But she LOVED her Easter basket!♥

I am trying to connect with family on the phone using Duo, but they are not responding to my invites. I have an android phone and some have an apple phone.
Limited items we can buy will only hurt more businesses, I don’t understand the reasoning. Who decides what is necessary? I need seeds to grow my own food is that necessary?
Trying to record what this experience is teaching me. I do see families who have not had time to be together enjoying the new found time.

dee, I didn’t even know anyone made Vegan Easter bunnies! I don’t think I’ve ever seen any Vegan Easter chocolate at any of my local stores. Maybe I just wasn’t looking hard enough, though.
