The Spring Melt Community Challenge is Monday – Friday this week, and if the community visits the Spring Melt Room in the Clubhouse 5,000 times on Friday, we get the cute NEW Nest Fridge.
& remember – they extended the Deluxe Preview until the end of March!

went to store earlier………not too bad……..they had tp and kleenex, but i did not need them, so did not buy them!
dh and dd were giving me a big briefing about personal space and hand sanitizing and gloves……….i guess they thought i was gonna lick the cart or something……………goobers……………but mostly………….i was out ALONE!

my ds is a performing arts major – he has drama, dance, & vocal all online now – it’s interesting because in some cases he has to play a video, play music, and record himself – that takes 3 devices 🙄

Not working today… told to stay home….Thinking of all those first responders
nurses doctors and all who are working on the front lines taking care of all those effected by the virus.. and risking their own health to do so….

Good morning! Happy Tuesday!
Wow, it’s been ages since I’ve read up … I think I was two weeks behind! I had a huge printing deadline a week ago, and then as a teacher, we had training to use online software, had to pack up our offices, get everything ready for the kids to pick up, record all of our classes, and figure out how to post everything so that students could access it. And I am only a part-time teacher, so I can’t imagine how the others got everything done! I know it is easier for the 20-somethings, but for those of us in the bit-older-category, it took a while. We’ll see how well they learn …
My kiddos opted to stay at college after it shut down … the college still has maintenance to keep up with (grounds, cleaning, etc.) so they offered free room and board for the rest of the semester if students wanted to work a few hours. They all got assigned to “environmental services” which is basically sterilizing the buildings and “public” areas (which really aren’t public anymore). They still have to take classes online in their dorms, and they spread them out 2 to a room, and are practicing social distancing. The kids are handling it like mini-journalists, vlogging and blogging their way through. I am glad they are not stuck in our basement, but praying for them that they will stay well.
My dh has been home for a week, which I have thoroughly enjoyed. He has an insane 12-hour a day job, so he is online a lot, and now I get to listen to all of his video conference calls. He is on the coronavirus task force for his organization, so we are both sick of talking (and hearing) about it. But we finally get to have lunch and dinner together and no hour-long commute to work! So there are some upsides … 🙂
And I am a self-avowed introvert, so being stuck in my home doesn’t bother me in the least! I did go through the house making a list of projects I might want to do, and took a trip to Home Depot to make sure I have everything I need in case they shut that down too. Hoping to get some painting done today.
And I really enjoyed virtual church! Hopefully not too much, or I won’t want to go back when this is all over.
The sadness comes in when I think of all the retail jobs that have been lost, and people who live paycheck-to-paycheck who may suffer the most. And of course, the people who get sick and are not healthy. I pray for our health care workers and the administration making decisions for the country … this is all such new territory, and a bit scary. I’m hoping that the new malaria drug they were talking about yesterday will really help get a handle on this. That would be a game-changer.
Anyway, enough about me. I missed you all! Gaga, I’m so sorry about your mom! Would they let her “out” so that she could stay in her home for a few weeks? I know that would be more work for you, and she would probably never want to go back, but ? It probably feels like a prison to her. Does she have an iPad? My parents have one, and I can FaceTime them … makes them not feel so far away and isolated.
I loved all of your suggestions for the contest … I, too, would like a searchable item database. And being able to enlarge rooms or change them from outdoor to indoor, etc. And I would love a new MyPage. Also would love someone to make a basic collection app, where you could check off items that you have collected, and see what items you have left. Can’t be that hard, right? Just a basic name, picture, description, and checkbox. Thinking I might task one of my boys with that one of these days … 😉
Anyway, whew! Sorry for the long post. It’s been a long time coming. Thanks for keeping things going here, Momz! And everyone else who posts. It was fun catching up. 🙂

hey – had to make a grocery run this morning – plenty of chicken at one store, none at the other – got everything we “needed” & my mother’s stuff then dropped hers at the door – they delivered it up immediately
miracle – glad to see you have a minute to stop by – this has been such a big adjustment for teachers as you have your own families as well! good they got to stay on campus because that hasn’t been an option for most of the college students i know
gaga – hang in there – it is so good your mom has the immediate care available that she can have there if needed. my mom is pretty content. she started to freak out yesterday when she heard her shelter in place is until at least 4/6, but i reminded her that is 2 weeks from now – it seemed like longer to her. & i delivered a LOT of pellet ice to her today with her other stuff, so that made her happy LOL

Miracle… so nice to see you and hear about what’s happening.. Did not realize you were a teacher… So much work getting the kids set up for on line learning !
Can’t imagine where to begin … I am not at all computer savvy ( except for WW)
Hopefully the transition will go smoothly for all the kids…
I know it must be a worry for you to have your kids remain at college… with so much happening around the country… They have each other and will keep you updated frequently..
I try not to stay to glued to the news.. I want to be informed but the more I watch the more it stresses me.. My thought are with all the health care workers around the country and particularly my co workers who are truly in the trenches each and every day.. So far two documented cases in my hospital…
moms… your mom is lucky to have you to be so involved and bring her some goodies and give her something to look forward too ! Ice pellets ?? Does she use for her beverages or does she like to crunch ice ? I was told by the girl who answers the phone that the residents “have ventured out” and work puzzles at the table ! I asked nurse today if someone would please take my mom for a ride down the hall and back just to get her out of her room !!
I was there three times today !! and three visits to the Medical Supply store..
Had purchased a meal table Saturday… maintenance man attempted to put it together but unsuccessful… ? defective.. Replaced it .. and I no sooner had walked in the door … nurse called to ask me to pick up my mom’s nebulizer ( same supply store ) Was not very happy because I had offered to pick it up on Saturday but that nurse said she would make the arrangements. !!
So frustrating…. Doctor in today… is putting her on an antidepressant …asked her to get me one too !
Took her some goodies very early this morning but ended up being an all day project.

Good Morning-
Just stopping in to say hello. Hope you all are staying safe. The Graduation Cap/Gown gift is great, but also a little sad to those of us with Seniors (or who are Seniors both HS & College) who will likely not get to see them walk across the stage after all of their hard work. But, more important things going on in the world, so it is what it is. We are still waiting on one last college decision, the dream school. We will know tomorrow. Hi all. Sounds like everyone is in good spirits.
Miracle – thanks for the update! We are enjoying virtual church too. Pastor said 24,000 people listened to last week’s sermon (way more than our usual weekly service numbers). Mind boggling. And I’m happy to have my often-traveling DH home too. Trying to work from home with the little ones is a little challenging – they aren’t so good at staying quiet during conference calls.
I haven’t ventured out for shopping. We’ve played outside in our yard. We’re having a virtual birthday party for my brother tomorrow night. We’re all going to order from Cheesecake Factory and hang out together online.
I hear toddlers screaming in the other room… guess break time is over! 🙂

lovely day………..went to the lake to drive around to get out…….did NOT practice the 6ft barrier…………it is my husband!
lots of folks out and being safe…….mostly…………a couple groups of folks
but a wonderful day…………OUT!
and for anyone else who wants to venture for a drive to state/county/national parks or whatnot…………..check their status first……….state parks were open, county parks are closed……….national are open for certain things…
