Things To Do in WW
Hey everyone! With all the craziness happening in the world recently, many of us are now practicing social distancing by working from home, switching to online coursework, or simply voluntarily flattening the curve by avoiding unnecessary public interactions. I’ve personally been able to find more time for Webkinz, and apparently others have too– according to this article from MassLive– which states that the number of online users has increased by 25% in just the last week! This influx has rolled over into Gymbo’s as well with the return of old faces and the welcoming of new ones. With the increase in popularity and more free time (at least for me), I thought it would be useful to go over some of the current events in Webkinz World so that you’re not missing out on any important prizes and freebies.
With St. Patrick’s Day behind us, the month of March is nearly over, but there’s still lots to do in WW. Here’s a list of what I’m doing as I login to my accounts. Please comment if I’m missing anything! All bold headers are also links to articles in Webkinz Newz or the eStore.
1. Mayor in the Park – Sophie Stockwell is giving away gift boxes for visiting her in the park. There are four new prizes: Parade Hot Dog (displayable object- not food!), Kinzville Souvenir Cap, Ribbon Barrier, and Confetti Floor Tile. On now through March 22.
2. KinzCash Coin Tile in the Spring Melt Room in the Clubhouse – Visit the Sweet Spring Raccoon in the Spring Melt Room in the Clubhouse to get a free KinzCash Coin Tile, every day from now through March 31.
3. Deluxe Preview – with the Deluxe Preview on, you can complete the Deluxe Challenge on ANY account. However, with only 6 days left in the preview, you need to start TODAY:
Make 30 Wishes on Wishing Well 2 in the Arcade
Earn 280 KinzCash playing Get Eleven Solitaire in the Arcade
Sign up your pet for any 20 classes at the Kinzville Academy
The prize is a Soothing Shower Stall, which is a Decoration (wall item). It’s pretty neat in the room.
4. New Deluxe Prize Machine and Prize Klaw items – Along with the Deluxe Preview, there are more opportunities to snag some of the new prizes. Be on the lookout for these two games in Today’s Activities. Check the link to see the prizes!
5. Deluxe Day Saturday – All paid deluxe players will be able to get the Deluxe Day item on Saturday. Go to Today’s Activities to claim the prize, the Water Cooler (dispenser!). NOTE: Deluxe Preview accounts cannot obtain this gift.
6. Community Codes – As always, when you have some downtime you should enter in Community Codes. There are 7 that expire at the end of the month, and now is a great time to get ahead on newer ones as well.
7. Spring Goslings – for the next 3 days, be sure to pick up the one, two, or all three of the Spring Goslings! They are on sale for 8500 points for Deluxe Members.

I hope everyone is ok, and that you have enough supplies to get you through. I seriously do not understand the toiket paper thing!!! I’m sorry, I kinda find it hilarious. I have wash cloths and soap and water…I can always WASH if need be! Years ago that how we cleaned our children! We didn’t have wipes…or pampers..lol cloth diapers and wash cloths..so I think I’ll survive without TP if nessesary. .

I’ll admit, I’m old school..but I also keep a healthy larder..I grew up poor, we learned survival skills. And I stocked my larder with long shelf time items..plus the basics to make bread if need be.
I worry that too many younger people can’t do the basics. It’s sad. I pray this doesn’t last long. Please stay safe. Bless you all.

Popping in quickly to see how everyone is doing and ask a question… Has anyone bought the Lil’ Spring Goslings from the eStore? If so, would anyone be willing to post pictures of their gosling(s)? I didn’t think they were that great at first, but then I saw the back of a purple one in the Clubhouse this morning and it looked kind of cute. But since I never got to see the front, I’m not sure…
gaga, thank you for enquiring about my dear pet! We noticed significant improvement today that has me hopeful for a full or at least close to full recovery!! Also, I made the green heart emoji by right clicking inside the comment box, clicking on “Emojis & Symbols” at the very top of the gray box that opens, and typing in “heart” in the search function. From there, you can choose from any number of colored heart emojis! â¤ï¸

Hope everyone is having fun in Webkinz World! I’ve noticed a LOT of extra traffic in the Clubhouse lately. I guess everyone is just staying home and playing Webkinz right now, LOL!

I had trouble logging in and/or staying logged in on Tuesday. Played Webkinz with dgd on Tuesday evening. I haven’t had a lot of free time. I’ve been busy figuring out technology, like having online meeting via Zoom or Google Hangouts, talking on the phone to calm friends down. As some of you may remember, by youngest dd lives in Spain and she says it is terrible over there right now. They can’t go outside.

sadly we can not upgrade……….it is what it is out here in the boonies.
i am trying to figure out how to google where to get wifi if we just sit in someones parking lot…………suggestions on the wording i should use?
with all the schools and colleges shut down, i know there has to be something….there are three more “towns” near me that do not even offer the internet service we have……….they have satellite only and when it rains, you lose it………….thanks in advance

Dee – great timing! I have rotten . . . I mean ripe bananas that I need to use. I don’t like to eat them plain after they are covered with freckles. So I guess in the morning I’ll try using applesauce. Hadn’t thought of that. Thank you.

Dee – Starbucks, Mcdonalds, or most fast food places should have wifi. Usually pretty good wifi too. If you park close enough to the building you should be able to access it. Not sure what kind of cell signals you get out there but if you get a decent signal you could look into using a hotspot.
Not sure what other options there are. Most public wifi involves the public… people… people’s germs…

Dee, thanks for applesauce/ brown sugar advice! I have a ton of
” rotten” bananas in my freezer. I have alsace needs to be used up, how much do you use instead of the eggs? And do you use the Betty crocker recipe that uses buttermilk, or the older version? I keep powdered buttermilk cause I do that version.

I have missed all of you…life has just been crazy busy! Now with this virus…just unreal.
Both my sisters were indirectly exposed via a couple of people who shoukd have known better!!! Both are now sick! They are self quarantining. I told my mom as much as she hates being alone, that we live her too much to get near her…but if she needs stuff, I get it and drop it at front door. Thank goodness she has her dog for company. ..and we are all calling her everyday. Just can not put her at risk..she has COPD.

I’m a firm believer in a well stocked larder. A product of growing up poor I’m guessing…lol though my mom and dad are both people who stock their homes well too. I’m so happy I do it. I did however think about putting a bunch of long shelf life items when I first heard about it…and so I did…my dh was floored when I showed him my inventory list! The way I’ve stocked I’m pretty confident we can stay put for close to a year! I may sound crazy, but I am not a doomsday pepper I assure you! But it never hurts to be prepared.

The only thing I’ve found funny about this situation is the toilet paper thing! This panic I do not get…I was like why??? If you run out and can’t get more.. just WASH! It’s really that simple.
We didn’t have butt wipes or pampers for babies years ago.
We had cloth diapers and wash cloths. Younger generation is spoiled rotten. I just can’t believe a grown man would fight over TP and get tasered for it…yes, in Australia this has happened..a friend who lives there sent me the news clipping! I’m guessing he will never live that one down! Lol

moms.. your walk around the lake with your pup and ds sounds so peaceful
and uplifting in a world that is so filled with fear and uncertainty ! I am sure your dh and other ds had a great time fishing… I took a walk myself yesterday after getting home from work… trying to shake off the stresses of the day….
There are big changes in our clinic….Kept only 2 nurses… the others are being assigned to ER.. ICU or medical units….Decision was made to keep me and another nurse in the clinic because we are considered high risk…Feeling very guilty but was thankful to have my job… despite my hours being cut…
Cafeteria is closed. gift shop is closed and of coarse all volunteers are suspended until further notice…All employees stopped and questioned before entering the hospital ( including temp check).. ( only one entrance available)…

Sheeba …. hate to even mention how my mom is doing… she has hung up on me the last two times I have called…”doesn’t want to talk”..weepy….
My heart goes out to all of the elderly who are in facilities and unable to see their families… or even have meals in the dining room..

i keep reminding my mother not to get negative this early – it’s a marathon for this one . . . the daughter of her best buddy brought donuts by this morning, so her friend brought some to her – i don’t know if her friend is following the kind of sanitary process she should be, but i didn’t say anything because she is going to do what she wants to do anyway . . .
i am assuming she delivered the donuts to the door, then the staff brought them up to the resident, but still not sure that resident should be taking them to another resident.
anyway . . . is there anything you could deliver to your mother that might brighten her day? a favorite snack or candy? a movie? flowers? i am so thankful my mom has her kitty!

moms… I have been bringing her favorite spiced jelly beans frequently… but all 18 stores of the chain have closed… Available only on line which I will do.. I do a drive by every couple of days with goodies but at this point she is mad at everyone for putting there and has taken to hanging up when I try and call !
Doesn’t help my mental state at all ! Can’t believe I am a ” senior” !! How can that be … but with this latest situation at work … I am so THANKFUL to be “old”
