Moms, did you get the gingerbread house from the first day of Ms Birdy? I have an extra if you still need it. Doctor appointments today but I’ll check back this evening to see if you need it.
Dee, nutritional yeast is good for you but I haven’t tasted “cheese” that I like. It’s really not “better than nothing”. I haven’t eaten it enough for it to grow on me, may never reach that point. But I never thought of it as a stinky feet smell. Funny!

Even though I thoroughly enjoyed the quilt block floaty event, I’m glad it is over.
On to visit Ms. Birdy in the clubhouse. Which Ms. Birdy? Not the one in the welcome room, but the duplicate one in Santa’s room. Does anyone else find that ironic that she is two places at once? Finally made my wishes to Santa today for all of my accounts. I think I have more free accounts than regular/deluxe presently! Time to adopt some pets so that I can KP!

I’m not sure what is wrong with me this year, but I’m having trouble getting into the Christmas spirit. I still haven’t decorated my tree. (Maybe it is because the decorations are up in the cold, cold attic above our garage?) Today, I could have done it, but I spent time going through my pantry and organizing, plus general pick-up of piles that have managed to collect throughout the house. I still have some Christmas shopping to do and hope to WRAP that up tomorrow! I’d love to have my presents wrapped early this year (before Christmas Eve would be considered early)! Christmas eve for our family will be the Friday or Saturday after Christmas.
I just found out something about my dh’s family that I never knew before. We have been married for 37 years and I can’t believe it! But my dh told me that his mom always made gingerbread cookies for Christmas. Really? I never knew! The tradition I had with our kids was making Amish Cookies and decorating them with icing. When I was growing up my mom made butter cookies with a cookie press. She made sour cream pound cake “fruit cake” version for Christmas. That’s all I remember about her Christmas baking. Anyway, I found it surprising that I wasn’t familiar with my dh’s Christmas traditions regarding cookies!
I’m not baking this year….I’m leaving that up to Dee and Moms! LOL! The only problem with that is that I can’t taste theirs!

Hi everyone! Well I went to dr. Today. He was mad at me and gave my dh tge stink eye! Then told me I was not to go out to shovel this storm!:said I needed to stay home! And also said because the weathers going to be bad tommorrow that I shoukd cancel my knee appt. And said if I fell or hurt myself more I could end up in hospital! And promptly sent me for xrays… he was not amused. He also told me he had an argument with painanagement place that my ins. Reffered me too!!

He told them he didn’t like how they wanted to handle me, and said it would stress me terribly and possibly do more damage then good! Then he called the ins. And had it out with them! He’s taking complete control of my pain management himself! I was shocked..he told me what they would have put me through..and there is no way I could do what they wanted…I’m so thankful I have a wonderful dr. Who cares!!! He said a lot more, but it’s too long to go into.. but at least that one more thing I don’t need to stress over anymore!!

I should hear about the xrays tommorrow and he also pulled more bloodwork. 7 vials worth!!! He didn’t like how I looked today..I also was having tachycardia issues since yesterday, but ekg said hearts working ok..but my whole body is having light tremors since yesterday too..and I had a low grade fever..not sure what is going on..just know I don’t feel quite right. So, anyway, I’m on a stay home and rest per drs. Orders!! More time for WW!!!

maybe just do a little decorating – something with some festive lights & see if that makes you feel more festive? do you have a ceramic tree? i have my grandmother’s on the side table next to me, & it has been more special than ever to me this year. i put my lamp away, and am using it instead – it makes me happy – i hope you find a little spirit even if it is a quiet spirit this year

Moms, I got up early and called knee dr. Cancelled my appt. Which is what my GP Dr. Wanted. And I stayed put all day! I didn’t even do a dish!! Lol. Both guys fed themselves…AND SHOCKER..THEY CLEANED UP AFTER THEMSELVES!!!!!! Piggy cuddled with me all day.. the guys even fed him today. I guess getting the stink eye from out dr. Yesterday got to dh. Lol I’m glad the dr. Said something to him.. he needs to realize he needs to help more now that he can walk. He got spoiled rotten over the last two years!!!
Anyway, thanks moms! I promise I did a great impression of a rug all day long! Lol

It’s just one big sheet of ice here…dh had gone in to work at 230am. Came home few hours later..no snow all ice! But at least he grabbed 50lb bag of ice melt while out…gonna need it for sure! The cars are encased in ice..even if we wanted to go anywhere…we couldn’t. Cars are iced shut! Hope it melts tomorrow. ..otherwise I’ll be handing pitchers if hot water out the door so dh can melt ice off drivers side door…lol its fastest way to get the car door open when there’s that much ice on it. Last year dh tried his method and broke a door handle!!! Then I showed him my hot water trick.

i assume they reset her shoulder before she refused to stay, but can she stay by herself? i wish a hospital social worker would have gotten involved – sometimes once they are at the hospital, they can admit them, then send them to rehab for inpatient pt which can help transition them into an assisted living environment

I will praying for everyday and please do what the dr. says.
My knee dr. appt. was a disaster, I got shots in both knees and I am 100% worse. That was 2 weeks ago and I am not better.
Not doing much for Christmas. I can’t take anything for pain because of my liver disease.
Ms Birdy is very unfair to us, only one day to get the gifts and it is the busy season. At least with other challenges you could get the gifts more than once a day and they didn’t expire.

I have been trying to read the Dec book for my book club. It wasn’t in the kindle version and my eye sight is not good. It is a very strange story. Has anyone read “The Last Unicorn” by Peter S. Beagle?
I have been looking for gift cards for my granddaughter at a cheaper price.
Amazon doesn’t discount gift cards. It would be nice if I could at least get a little something extra.

KGH, there was a Festive Cookie Jar in 2017 countdown that acts as a refrigerator, but I don’t think any theme has had a legitimate refrigerator, like the Easter Egg Fridge or Cinnamon Chocolate Fridge.

Good morning! Happy update Wednesday! I always have a little more time in the morning to read Gymbos on update Wednesdays.
The kids are trickling home from college … two here, one more tomorrow. I’m looking forward to having them all back and just sitting around sharing stories. We’ve gotten a few out of the boys, but they talk a lot more when their sister gets them going.
I’m having a little trouble too, QOS … I’m definitely excited for Christmas to come, but just not really into the shopping and decorating. I did put up a tree, but just the bare minimum of ornaments and stuff scattered about the house. Maybe I’ve KonMarie’d my home too much? LOL!
And I missed the Quilted Christmas Table … the only item I wanted from that list. If it ever becomes Kinzpostable, I’m adding it to my wish list. I have extras of Mrs. Birdy’s gifts (which I really like this year!), so if anyone misses one of those, I can help with that.
Glad you get time off from work, gaga. I’m so sorry about your mom. Sending prayers.
Actually sending a lot of prayers for friends this year. Seems like there are always difficult times during the season as well, and lots of hurting people who often hurt more people because they are hurting. I love the stories of kindness that are popping up on Facebook and other places. It doesn’t take much to make someone’s day … I keep looking for opportunities and hoping I don’t miss one!
Thankful for you all here and love reading your stories, even though I’m not a big poster. Then spirit here is so kind and thoughtful. Almost always brings a smile to my face.
