   2 oz of water to 1 tablespoon of sugar but if you want it to be full and you are boiling it, might want to do 4 oz of water to 2 tablespoons of sugar. Should be about right once it boils down a little.

   however, my ones i have now are such piggies……..i need to refill the big feeder!
   they are dangerous as heck………..so close to hitting me in the head or into a cat!
   one got his beak stuck in cat proof window screen, but managed to get out.
   and they actually do sit on that hummingbird swing that dd got me for christmas. never long enough to get a pic sadly

    Happy Friday the 13th!!! I love these days! They’ve always been good to me, and today is no different! Finally got done (at least with the rough draft) of a big project. I just sent off the draft! Whoo hoo. Next week will be a bear with edits and two more large projects, but at least I feel like I accomplished something. Poor Stella has been so bored. Dh took her to his office this afternoon. She goes from desk to desk getting pets and love and treats. She’s exhausted when he brings her home! 🙂

    Hello to Dixie who popped in here a post back. Did you need help with one of the challenges?

    Loop—Hope everything is good with you! I saw you updated the fall clothing bag items on the picture guide and now I want that cute batty hat.

    dee—the humming birds at my old house in Cincy were crazy! They would fight and drink that juice down so fast. Here I only see a few early in the morning, but they will come so close to me and just hover…it’s so cool.

    Thanks Choco 🙂 That is really sad about those students. If you didn’t live through 9/11 or your parents didn’t teach you the magnitude of that day, I guess you wouldn’t understand. I doubt you could have said anything to get through to them.

    gaga—Congrats on the squirrel slippers! I managed to get a pair too. Thanks for the sweet words about Stella. She is my joy around here. And her ears are just the best!

    Good Morning All !
    April…Good luck with upcoming projects this week.. Always stressful having things hanging over your head… and when you get them accomplished..celebrate ! ( by playing in WW !! )
    Stopped to get a pizza yesterday… Pet store next to pizza shop there was an adoption table with several dogs available for adoption… I fell in love with a puppy sitting on the lady’s lap….Stopped to talk to her..but the puppy had already been claimed and was waiting for her new family to arrive to get her..
    She looked to be a Pointer of some kind……Those eyes..told a story… her sister had been adopted earlier in the day……….I guess it was just as well she wasn’t available… Really not home enough to have a puppy… Maybe when I retire ………..Can only hope… Still can’t stop thinking of that little puppy though… Feel she spoke to me !!!
    Otterkinz… you are welcome !! Right now I have no wishes to put on the list.. but maybe soon…
    littleleaf… keeping my fingers crossed for potential new job !!
    dee… yard sales are so much work..card tables..work bench .. back of a pick up truck if dh has one… maybe buy a couple of paper table clothes and spread them out under a shady tree ?? Good Luck !

    My mom’s nephew flying in from CA to spread his mother’s ashes at university in IN.. stopping here to visit… my mom’s sister passed away at age 99 !!… May join them for lunch..

    Sorry, I’ve been lurking lately … usually get caught up on comments and then don’t have time to respond. 🙂 And just have a few minutes this morning.

    Thank you to all working on my wish list with me! Have gotten some really nice gifts from LL, Cheese, April, Jem, Wophy, and Momz over the past week or so. Wish you ALL had wish lists that I could gift back to! I have some more things from your wish list, littleleaf, so I’ll keep working on that one with you. 🙂

    Kids are doing well in college, dd calling every day, dss calling 2x week (with some prompting). I figured it would be about that. 🙂 I’m trying not to live vicariously through them, but they are not big social media people, so I can’t learn too much unless they call. College gives you so many opportunities, and so far, they seem to be jumping right in. Very proud of them all.

    Good luck with the garage sale, dee. I like the idea of table cloths or bed sheets on the ground for clothes.
    Sad to hear students’ views of 911, Choco. “Those who cannot remember the past are doomed to repeat it” …
    Thinking about you and your mom, gaga. Hang in there. 🙂

    This weeks work project fried my brain extra crispy, so I decided to unwind and clean out my WW dock!!! LOL I sent out what I could find, my dock is a mess.

    Miracle – How amazing that your dd calls you every day! None of my kids did that when they went to college or do it now! I’m lucky if I hear from them once a week or every two or three weeks!

    I’m not sure if I mentioned, but my youngest is touring Europe this month before her teaching job starts in Spain (October). I haven’t talked to her since she left, but we have “chatted” via What’s App a bit.

    Gaga – I loved hearing your pet story, but I really wish the dog was yours! Sure, you may have more time when you retire, but the connection seemed to be mutual. Speaking of dogs, one of my friends has an instagram account for her dog. It is so cute!

    Dee – #30 Ha ha! So funny! Plus, congrats on up to date WW account. I’ve only checked into one today. Nine more to go! LOL!

    Start of a new week….
    moms.. hope you had fun celebrating your dh’s birthday ! No snow up here yet although it has been cooler up here…71 yesterday…The rescue people were actually from a Doberman Rescue… The had a rather rambunctious 4 year old mix Doberman… she was really sweet but too big ! Not really in the market to adopt a puppy yet but still see that sweet face sitting on that lady’s lap…
    Saw that Falcons won yesterday !! Browns play tonight…hopefully they will have it a little more together than they did the last game !! One of the players lost his girlfriend to an altered driver who struck her and killed her… Tragically she had just delivered their first baby 2 WEEKS before she was killed… The team is rallying around him to support him during this horrible incident….
    dee.. Have you figured out your yard sale display ??

    Queen of Sheeba… hope you were able to finish up all the work you were doing in preparation for upcoming week…Was wondering how your kitty is doing…I think I mentioned that I am cat sitting this week…My sister’s cat is 14 and she left instructions about what to do if Sadie died while they are away on vacation………so hope that doesn’t happen…
    Chants….I finished 50 levels of Grand Grotto last night !!!!!!!!!! NO TROPHY was given…logged out and back in…….NO TROPHY………so discouraging..
    I have e mailed the support team at Ganz… Hope they can fix whatever happened…That trophy is so cute… and it took so many hours to complete!!

    I heard from my nephew yesterday by phone !! So happy to hear that all is well….I think he is hooked on OSU football… he attend the game last weekend and when asked about the marching band…. which I think is supposed to be one of the best….. he responded by saying that they were OK and he is more into orchestras !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go figure !

    Chicken Tortilla Soup

    2 pounds chicken
    1/2 stick butter
    32 ounces chicken broth
    1 can Rotel
    1-2 cups whole kernel corn (I use frozen, but can use 1 can)
    1 large onion chopped
    2 tsp minced garlic
    2 tsp ground cumin
    2 tsp chili powder
    salt & pepper to taste

    In the pot, combine: broth, butter, onion, garlic, spices, & chicken. Boil until chicken is done. Remove chicken, shred, and return to pot. Add rotel and corn, then simmer for an hour or more. (Can simmer all afternoon or in crock pot.)

    Can top with plain greek yogurt (instead of sour cream), lime juice, for dh – cheese, or tortilla chips as desired.

    I am not sure if you can substitute the butter, but I would be willing to try it with 1/2 of what the recipe calls for – overall a little bit shouldn’t be too unhealthy.

    moms… I am happy that the Browns won !! They really needed to turn things around after last week’s game… So happy for OBJ ‘s beautiful TD !
    dee… only make two basic soups…chicken noodle and beef barley…kind of boring !
    Does anyone know if tomorrow is maintenance day in WW ??
    Seems like it has be a while since last updated…
