I did too! I am hoping it will be loaded with interactive lights and decor, not just furniture. Something that goes really well with that Rickety Haunted House we get to build.
As far as your Fa-la-la-la-la? I am still looking for sunshine and the very thought Of Christmas just makes me worry that we’ll never see summer again.
I am Dixiecup in all sites .. I’m getting to that age where I have to remember too much so I use the KISS method 😉 That being said, I’m not sure if I remembered to add Kinzheads last time or not.

i am sure you all know that i got a new loveseat……..the old couch is on the curb for free bulk pickup………..they said within 15 days of monday
anyone want to take a guess on when they will pick it up?
thankfully we are the last house on our street…………but a neighbor did make a comment about jeff foxworthy(in a nice way, super neighbor)
just chopped up some lovely cucumber for salad……..man oh man that is so refreshing

Oh, my… Are we already talking about Halloween AND Christmas?? I voted for the Trick or Treat Street theme, too. Regardless of which one wins, I’m just glad we will be getting another new W-Shop theme.

You know, Otter, if you feel like being sad, BE SAD! Part of bereavement means you get own your grief and no one gets to tell you when it’s done. Cry with your friend, grieve with your friend. You don’t need to be ‘upbeat’ you just need to be there. Present, in the moment and invested. That person is also grieving a loss and if you grieve along with them, you are validating their loss and let them know they aren’t going crazy. Let them know it’s totally ok to be hurting because they’ve lost someone (and I don’t care if you’ve lost a human, a cat, a dog or any other living being, you’ve lost a companion who’s presence you’ve treasured) exchange good times and memories and know it’s ok to start crying and feel that hurt because if you try to stop those feelings or try to distract them from it, they never get the closure or feel like they fully grieved and let them go.
Sorry if I’m going on and on, but I had to go through a grieving process long after the ‘someone’ had been gone because ‘I should be stronger.’ Well, it stopped working, and I couldn’t explain why I was always angry or sad or disillusioned. It was going through psychotherapy that made me realize, no matter how little time I had with that person; the bond was real and the loss was great. Just because no one else experienced it like I did, didn’t make my pain less.
Otter, you grieve as much as you need and you will know one day that you’ve let it go. I felt it the first time I didn’t feel guilty for laughing at a funny story.

Hi!!! (Waving at everyone)Hope everyone is,well. Trying to catch up on reading..I’ve been lurking a little. Didn’t really have much to say. Got the results back for dh bloodwork…ALL BACK TO NORMAL!!! Though the dr. Is being cautious and said he’ll need to be checked in a month again to make sure.. had the very last test done today. .will know more next week. But as of this week he supposedly is infection free..BUT, still have no idea what it was!! And that has the dr. Still concerned..keeping fingers crossed that the last stay in hospital and all the heavy duty antibiotics finally got it!

Moms, a friend of mine blessed me with a fancy flamingo in my locker about 2 years ago for my birthday. I got such a kick out of it. It became the ‘Birthday Flamingo’ for a couple of months while everyone at work passed it around. Once it was done I took both of the flamingos home. My Hubby wove their legs into the Chainlink fence and the sit atop the fence between our neighbors and us.
Their grandson was only about 2 and he said, ‘Look Grampa PINK DUCKS!”
Since then we have left the flamingos there, rain, snow, sleet or hail; the ‘Pink Ducks’ stay. Maybe I should decorate them, too 😉

Dixie… your pink duck story was really cute ! Kids do say the funniest things
Did you happen to catch the video of the 2 year old who jumped onto the luggage conveyor belt at Atlanta Airport…. spent 5 minutes on the moving belt before a TSA agent was able to grab him !! Very scary !
Celebrated Christmas in July today at work… I handed out Christmas lottery scratch offs to everyone… No big winners though… Played Trans Siberian Orchestra all morning for patients and staff…Just a bit of fun in an otherwise ho hum day !
dee… your day at the lake sound so relaxing and fun… Sounds like a picture perfect day… Do you fish ??? Bird watch ??
moms… take the highway every morning to work…. thankfully I arrive at 630 so there is little traffic … I would hate to do rush hour everyday !

Traffic … do NOT get me started on TrAfFiC! had to wait to get on to the highway for 3 minutes while a BIG truck went by with a caravan of about 30 cars/trucks trailing behind it. Then the donkey slows down to about 50 miles per hour on the double solid so no one will dare pass him, but as soon as there is a passing lane, he speeds up to the speed limit, then slows down. Guy really ground my gears!!! and my teeth!
To top things off, after I left for work, someone decided to come and help themselves to my DH’s truck!
I got a call at 1 pm that his truck was stolen right from our own back yard!

Been busy studying for the GRE. Not very fun. I wanna take it before the semester starts, so I’m aiming for the end of August. Grad school app isn’t due until January, so taking it next month will get it out of the way, but still give me time to retake it if I need to.
Only a week left for my online class and I’m ready to be done with it.

We don’t want it back 🙁 about 4 years ago this same truck was stolen right from the fenced in yard at work and when we got it back it was all but ruined. We spent a LOT of money getting it fixed 10,000 in insurance plus another 5000 of our own out of pocket to get it restored to its proper condition. When someone steals your vehicle, they are NOT going to pamper it or baby it the way you would. They are out to do damage … it’s never the same.

Dixie- I had a family member ‘s car get stolen and he was actually able to get it back. But it would have been better for them to just collect the insurance money on it. It was pretty badly damaged, set the seats on fire, it was more costly to repair it than it was worth.

Cross your fingers, Ladies!! They have the truck at an impound and they are dusting it for prints as we speak! (Ugh … black fingerprint dust – white Truck) they said it doesn’t look too bad, but we have to go in for a hundred point inspection and the ignition definitely needs replaced. Stuff that was in the truck box is gone, but we can replace those. Just camping stuff, anyway.

ds has a friend in town, so i took all of them to the aquarium today – it’s wonderful & makes me content – something about watching the belugas & whale sharks & manta rays & otters & everything is relaxing to me . . .

Dee, this is the second time that this has happened. The last time DH wouldn’t let me see what happened to the truck. I think he was worried about the way I’d react. As it was my sleep last night was very hindered. I felt like nothing was safe or sacred, anymore. It still feels like we have been violated because that was our truck and basically a gift from DH’s late Mom. I have her car. But the Truck is his P&J and he took such good care of it. It was everything he wanted in a truck, he looked for this truck for many years before buying it. I don’t know if he would have been so ‘het-up’ on it if he knew it was a theft magnet, but he did everything he could to prevent it happening again.
It would not have mattered where he had parked it. Even if he had parked it on the street, they would have stolen it at 3 am when everyone was sound asleep.
The last time it was stolen right out of the fenced compound at his work place while he was out driving a big truck. He hadn’t even put 2000 KM on it at that time (that’s about 1200 miles) The truck barely gets used for anything other than pulling the trailer or going someplace special. His peepee Mazda Tribute is his puddle jumper and gets him back and forth to work. So after it was stolen he put in a claim and we paid another 7000 to have the paint job restored to show room condition. Insurance only wanted to do a cosmetic job on it. We’ve only put on about 7000 KM since then. (4200 miles)
They wrecked the truck …stole a bunch of stuff, threw it in the back and wrecked the box liner, wrecked the liner inside the truck, ground in all kinds of filth because they were sm0king in it (and it had never been!), smeared pizza all over the place, dropped a cup of what looked like hot chocolate on the floor and of course that made a perfect place for them to drop lit leavings. The only thing they didn’t do was use it as a toilet. They drove it through the bush and scratched the paint all to …that place. And of course, they bag-drove it, so the transmission had some issues. To us, it was worth repairing and they waived the deductible because it had been stolen. Because this is a second claim on the same truck they may not be so pleasant. Vehicle theft claims are among the highest in the past couple of years. PLUS if we try to insure it with another company they won’t touch it with a ten foot pole because it was already stolen once before.
So in answer to your post, Dee .. I am a wreck internally.
