   dd bailed on the falafel, but dh and i are geeked to make it. funny as pioneer woman was making it today on food channel, so i recorded it.
   that there tabouleh is mighty fine! i need to google bulgur to see if it is a protein source………..dd due to fly out early wed morning. i am sure she is ready to go……..thankfully has had opportunities to see friends…..

   I guess that comment kind of came off the wrong way. It’s not that he’s unable or unwilling to take care of his health, he just thought it wasn’t a serious issue. Now that he realizes the seriousness of it, he’s trying to make excuses so it doesn’t look like he was ignoring it. I’m annoyed because I’ve been telling him to get it checked out for a long time and he chose to ignore it and now it’s a big issue. The procedure probably wouldn’t be necessary had he gotten it checked out sooner.

   Chococat, I hope your boyfriend feels better soon. I can understand that bc my grandpa does the same thing in our family, not being proactive when he has a health concern. You seem to be very caring & show a lot of concern for your boyfriend which is sweet.

    Personally? I think we should keep our focus here. If we create another Webkinz Insider it gives credit where I think it’s no longer due. (Yes, I’m pouty and upset) I think the credit should go to the people who helped make the site what it was.

    Gaga – I like hearing voices, too, but I find that my kiddos prefer text. Our family prefers to use WhatsApp for communication since we have a family member in Afghanistan. Anyway, as far as suites at colleges….my friend who has been visiting colleges with her son has shown me some amazing pictures of suites! I never knew there was such luxury for college students! 16 seems like a lot to one suite to me, though. Maybe someone else here knows more about it!

    Dixie – I don’t think it is possible to create another WI just for the very reason you said. There were so many people that helped to make that site awesome and I’m not even sure that some of them are still playing WW anymore.

    Hello, I am new to this site. I have been on Webkinz since the very beginning. Well actually my kids were and I took over accounts as they decided they were “too old” to keep playing.

    I had also been on another site with Dixie Cup and others and only discovered this site when the other site stopped working. This is an amazing site. I just have one question is there a place where curio shop items are posted daily?

    I have been lurking on this site for years because the updates were always so excellent.

    Super sad to see WI close. Truly an end to an era. I agree with what you guys are saying. Let’s focus our energy here. I don’t think WI should ever continue on as it was left to collapse anyways. It was never the owner who made that site… it was the AMAZING members. I am happy to see so many here.

    I am sad to hear that WI is gone. I was always browsing through the different pages. I had been wondering what happened when they stopped updating years ago, but still found their wikis helpful. I’m glad that I have found this site and that there are people who still gather information on the game. I’m looking forward to meeting some new people who enjoy Webkinz as much as I do!

    mrd56 – welcome to gymbo’s! we do not currently have a daily update on rares, but if we have anyone that does collect that info, they can feel free to comment it on whatever post is current

    for all of the newer people – here’s a little tour:

    things are a little different here – we are more chill about rules – you can mention other sites, even link other sites (as long as you are chatting or giving people a resource & not just straight up spamming or comment only to advertise, we are chill)

    you can trade anytime – as long as it is a trade both sides deem fair and you do not scam anyone, then all is well here. we do not recommend accepting pet codes from anyone other than someone we “endorse” – basically admins or very trusted secret santas 😉 – and when you do either win or trade for a pet code, i always advise you adopt it on a “secret” account

    we don’t use a forum format so that it is easier to keep up with conversation and “find each other” we only comment on the most recent post & try to keep all other posts closed to avoid spam

    we do have filters in place trying to keep the site “family friendly” – sometimes that filters comments, and if you said something that got filtered, just comment again asking an admin to go fish it out for you – that spam folder is a dirty dirty place sometimes, but it does occasionally misunderstand content (it doesn’t like words like floral or accumulate due to words that appear within the words, but we learn little tricks to get around it)

    also, over on the top right hand side of the blog, you will see “Pages” with some more information, how to guides, etc. feel free to reference those for more information

    and a little history – gymbo started this blog (she’s one of the lamberts 😉 ).
    i came to gymbo’s very early in my webkinz adventures in April 2008 – Gymbo started this blog 12/7/07 – tmt5 has been here since the start, but she took a bit of a break, so when Gymbo “retired” from Webkinz, she asked me to take over here. i had been an admin helping gymbo with the blog for a while by then. tmt5 still comes around quite a bit, but she has some health issues that make it challenging for her at times. we have some other admins that pop in from time to time or friends with super powers, but i primarily “manage” things

    if there’s anything you want to know, just ask! 🙂

    gaga—I’m glad Stella’s pic is making you smile too! Her spots have gotten more pronounced the older she is getting. 🙂 I second that you should get a smart phone so you can text, facetime or snapchat your nephew. That is the only way I am able to keep in touch with my nephew and nieces. None of them ‘talk’ on the phone. I cherish (for 2 seconds anyway 😆 ) all the silly snapchats I get from my youngest niece these days.

    Dixie/dee—Thanks! My little pupper is full grown now. Although, we are used to 100+ lb. bullmastiffs so a 45 lb. Stella still seems small 🙂 She would love some belly rubs. dee—Enjoy your night with dd.

    so your 16 bed to one pottie ratio is not correct( i am sure it violates health codes)…….if you want to be super snoopy, just go on school website and look at schematic for that dorm.!
    my dd had a horrific first semester roommate………..so sad, as it should have been neato/get away from the parents experience………sadly the roomie thought the same with the weed and constant influx of male visitors.
    sadly dd learned alot about the world that semester……..

    dee… I plan on checking into dorm situation… Found out today the name of the building… According to nephew….4 guys in each suite…4 suites to each quad with common area somewhere in the middle…He was given minimal info on all 16 kids… he plans on setting up on line chat with all of them…He says he is not concerned about too much partying ( BUT I AM)… from his quad mates..because he was placed in an honors dorm.. and he feels they are all in college to get an education…Hope he’s right. He is still on the young side..17 at the beginning of college … He wanted small…urban .. STEM… but going to 3d largest college in the country !!! YIKES I can only hope that the FORCE be with him because he does not believe in God…(rolling my eyes!!) and a tear in my eye….
    Lots of local coverage on TV for All Star Game…lots of hoopla.. red carpet..parade…weather here is perfect.. !!

    mrd- Unfortunately the rare items aren’t usually posted here, it’s the one thing I miss most about WI. The official webkinz twitter accounts will sometimes post a tweet when there’s a rare in the curio shop, but they don’t give you any forewarning.

    Miracle- The archive of WI is great, still being able to view a lot of the important information.

    April – Yes, I’m back to regular food now. I hope I can keep the eight pounds off that I lost during the soft food diet. I was surprised that I lost weight. I thought with all the sitting around that I was doing with all the milkshakes and other high sugar items (pudding, jello, etc) that I would gain weight. But, I was in for a nice surprise. I’d love to lose another eight pounds. But….glad to be back to chewy foods.

    Miracle – I’m with you about needing a bit of a WW break (from challenges,etc) to clean out my dock. Well, actually I need to go through several docks. But yeah….I have lots of stuff to do. Always busy, never bored. Ha ha! Thanks for wayback machine link. Not sure how that works, but how nice!

    Dee – I’m not as tempted by the new food items you are making! But, I try to keep an open mind when offered different foods to taste. I also had to laugh with post 27/28. 😉

    Moms – I enjoyed reading your notes on how to navigate the site and how it works here! Even though I’ve read this blog almost since it’s beginning, I didn’t join until about two years ago. Anyway, the history was interesting! I’m glad for your commitment here!

    Dee, I just re-read what I posted and I hope that I am not coming across negative about food recipes that you have posted. I think I am mixing up quinoa with something else. I know my daughters made something with quinoa and I liked it. The grain that I haven’t t learned to appreciate is couscous. I may be mixing up the two, but maybe the joke is on me and they are the same thing. But maybe that is because I don’t t know how to fix it.
    The one salad you posted I believe I have tried and liked it, but I don’t think that I would make it.

    Dee, I’ve never tried bulger, but I’ve read a lot about it. I like quinoa, and have always wanted to try teff, too. I’m the only one who eats “weird” foods in the house (well, Kiddo shares some too), so I don’t cook them often. Do you make buddha bowls? I love mix-and-matching unusual grains in those. My fave mix was quinoa and brown rice, baked sweet potato, a blop of hummus, kale greens sauteed in bacon fat (YAY Vitamin K), cold salmon, pink salt, homemade sauerkraut, and a fried egg on top! *swoons* And I even ate it when I WASN’T pregnant 😉

    Good morning! Happy Wednesday!

    Dixie, you basically have to view WI *through* the wayback machine. The link takes you to their archived WI site, but you can type “webkinzinsider.com” in their search bar, and then click on the date it was last archived, in this case, June 29. It takes you to a snapshot of what the site looked like that day. Once the page pops up, most of the links still work, and you can navigate around to see old pages, etc.

    It’s not perfect … you’ll see a few broken links, but it’s really close. We could at least pull off the information and repost it here. Getting the pictures to download might be tricky … I guess we could take screen shots? And not sure how Moms would want to organize it. Would it be helpful to make posts of their info pages? Guessing an admin would have to embed the photos, so that’s a lot of work for them, but maybe we could help somehow … let us know, Moms.

    So thankful for the Picture Guide, as it is also such a great resource! I don’t know what I would do without it. You guys are awesome. 🙂

    If you are the author of the page I believe you can add your own pics – you just need to add the media to our media library so it’s not linked to somewhere else

    I was going to try to pull screen caps of that PSI PSF page I love so much first, then try downloading the images & “recreating” it in the pages to see what works well . . .

    TLL – are you working on any effort to capture the WI stuff? i want us all working together not duplicating efforts. 🙂 teamwork!
