Can’t believe I got up at 3 am… thinking it was usual 4 am ! Decided to stay up as I already had coffee brewing !!
Sheeba… starting my time off on the 21st… However our NM scheduled me to come in on Fridays during vacation for 1/2 ( without asking )… I have been taking my time when the Dr. schedules his vacation for past 10 years… PA/ NP work half days… and they need a nurse… so I guess because we don’t have enough staff…. she is making it mandatory !!

wow – scheduling you a 1/2 day in the middle of your vacation doesn’t seem reasonable at ALL. does the Dr. know this? what if you were leaving town? i’m starting to think maybe you should! 😛
i feel for KD – i know there was a lot of chatter when he made the move to GSW, but i think he is a good person that wanted his chance to win a championship – that wasn’t happening where he was, so he made the change. i think people forget it isn’t personal, it is his job – an injury, though, has implications for him professionally & personally. we all know the “company” would make a business decision just like he did though. i love how the gsw team does act like a brotherhood – seeing Andre Igoudala help him to the locker room with Steph Curry close behind during the game might have brought a tear to my eye 😉

I was going to suggest a t-shirt as well, dee. You could get something for your dh for Father’s Day or just save it up for the next bd or ? We were just over there last night, and they have some nice things for dads right now.
Gaga, your whole work situation would drive me insane. You must be the nicest person in the world to be able to tolerate it. Kudos to you. We need more nice people in the world. 🙂
I decided to organize my PSFs with my spreadsheet. Instead of just checking off that I have it, I can put in the location (1st room, 3rd row, 6th cooler = 136). I’d rather have them alphabetized, but at least this way I could find what I wanted in a pinch. Although why I would ever want to find one later … the fun is definitely in the collecting. 🙂 So if you have some unusual pets and want to donate some of your favorite PSFs, please send them! I can send some of mine back, if you want to trade. I don’t have a lot of pets, but I have a couple of fun ones.
My schedule this summer is T,W,Th, but I get to go in a little later. And I can work F if I need to catch up. I always like the end of the school year … lots of cleanup and organizing that we should have been doing all along, but there just wasn’t time. I think it mentally helps us be ready to do it all over again in the fall. 🙂
And the weather has been gorgeous! Hoping it is still nice by the weekend. I miss my garden.

Got a new right hip this past Friday. Same surgeon that did my left hip, roughly year and half ago. All is well, came home later in the day. Slow getting around, but it’s all good.

I don’t watch AGT or any of those other shows. Shows like that really make me angry. They haul a bunch of young, innocent hopefuls onto stage and say ‘dance monkey, dance’ and it’s how THEY mould these talented individuals that really gets me. They have very little left of who they were once they come out of this. They exploit their vulnerabilities, using emotional blackmail garner sympathy to possibly extract a few more pity votes.
That being said, the Golden Buzzer is the BE ALL to end all. It is the Consensus of the collective that this individual’s talent is above the standard and basically gets a full free pass to the live marketing regimen.

Congrats on becoming a Twice Hip Granny, Gramma! One of the gals was is so much pain, here, that when she came out of her hip surgery, as soon as she could walk she was moving. And she said, ‘Look! NO PAIN’ I mean, my God, you’ve just had someone slice open your hip and replace ball and socket! How painful life must’ve been before if she was telling us she wasn’t in pain, now.

Miracle… work is challenging … more so since they have brought the WOWs
to nursing life… (Workstation on Wheels)…Most of my coworkers are on the back side of our careers… change is always difficult I guess… but for some reason particularly so for me…..Find it so funny that I can remember 17 webkinz usernames and passwords BUT need a password book handy to log into our computers….( require us to change passwords like people changes their clothes! Thank you for the nice complement…made my day !!
To all of you who are intested… America’s Got Talent is a great show to see just how much talent people across the country have… so many different venues… singing .. dance.. magic…musical instruments … There are 4 judges and SC has previously noted to give very critical feedback to contestants… not sure what changed ( I think he became a first time father at older age) and his heart has melted !! Each of the 4 judges is permitted ONE golden buzzer per season…. When the buzzer goes off… tons of golden confetti showers the contestant !! and that person automatically goes to the finals in Hollywood… Never quite thought of it as extorting the poor contestants !!!
It is a golden opportunity to become successful… Perfect examples are
Kelly Clarkson… Carrie Underwood…..Chris Daughtry… Susan Boyle…Phillip Phillips….. who were once “nobodies”,,,,, NOW they are LIVING THE DREAM!!
I love watching new talent….Although most of these were on American Idol… the venue is the same…

Gaga, I will ALWAYS feel like that about AGT, The Voice, American Idol. I’m sorry, but I see something quite sinister behind the judges and that’s a HUGE marketing machine. Look at how long they’ve made money from each of those people ‘living the dream.’
I guess I’m too old school to appreciate how easy it was for them to get an ‘in.’ I worked for YEARS, singing in bars, dives and all kinds of talent venues. Maybe I’d have dove at the chance, too … if there had been an easier way. Many people asked me when I was going to get a recording produced, but it just never happened. I was never in the right place at the right time with the right ears to hear me. Took a LOT of second places, Never any firsts. And it’s extremely political. I am very principled and refused to do certain things or compromise my integrity or lie or use a sorrowful past to gain entry. I also refused to step on other people’s fingers to climb a ladder to success. So maybe I just didn’t want it as badly as these youngsters do.

I think like just about everything in the world, those shows are going to have good & bad – some are going to exploit others no matter what, and some are going to be a blessing. Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, etc. have worked their tails off to be the success they are, and Idol seemed to give them a good start. I don’t think Philip Phillips had as good of an experience. People have the same experience in life – in jobs, in colleges, in tv viewing, in all kinds of situations – the same thing is not always the right fit for everyone. ♥

gaga – i did read about the new assistant! it’s great to see! maybe that’s our next career LOL – i’ll be watching tonight, like i have been saying, i’m not wholly optimistic or convinced, but the raptors have played their hearts out, too – which ever team wins has earned it (then there’s Drake – i was a fan of his music, but i think he’s acted like a jerk even more so this season)

That promo is dirty pool. It’s just about the amount of exchange needed to make it so we are paying full price for estore points in Canada. I am weighing whether it’s worth it for the 5 Mystery bags, though.
Gramma, I have to agree with Queen of Sheba, Warrior Princess is a great name for a cat. We call my lil dog ‘Apex Predator’ … especially when he hunts down and eats dandelion puffs for breakfast.
A Wiener Wagon for 7000? Who could resist? That’s one I’d love to convert into a food truck. No mistaking at Soft Ball tournaments what that’s there for.
Otis Spunkmeyer looks suspiciously like Coco Brooks here, in Canada. Only they market Pizza in a similar manner. It’s very much the same marketing model.
