Rescue Team Community Challenge
Each day between January 21 and 26, we have a new task, and if we complete the goal WW will give us a Community Code! Check WKN the next morning after 9:30 am to see if we completed the goal!
As part of Rescue Team, you’ll be expected to be fast, resourceful and agile. Then we have one day to relax and enjoy some hot chocolate on Friday before facing the final test on Saturday – rescuing a stranded hiker!

Start of a new work week. Couldn’t log on to my work portal to get modules completed. I certainly didn’t feel like being trapped on the phone with IT, so I’ll do it at work where I’ll get paid for however long it takes for them to fix it.

Thanks everyone! The moon was so beautiful last night! Didn’t stay out too long, -6 degrees last night and this morning. Brrrrrr. Miss Stella still doesn’t seem to care, she was bouncing around in the snow. We did have a learning curve on her ‘going’ in the snow, had a few surprises in the house yesterday! But this morning she’s got the hang of it.
The big question…does she or doesn’t she dress up???? LOL!!! I’m in the same boat Choco…dh made me promise not to dress her up. I told him if she doesn’t like the cold, I will be putting sweaters and coats on her, but that’s not the case. She does have a pretty pink collar though. But I definitely put my pups on my Christmas Cards!!! This year was “Christmas Wishes and Puppy Dog Kisses.” 🙂

The dog wears sweaters and coats when it’s cold. He prefers to be inside in the winter though… my mom litterbox trained the little thing…
I have a guinea pig that doesn’t mind costumes too much. She has a little unicorn costume so sometimes I refer to her as a ‘piggycorn’.

Car was encased completely in ice today.
It took an hour with hairdryer and a pry bar and piece of cardboard to protect the paint to get drivers side open.
Ran car for hour…then had to chip ice of passenger side then climb over center console, twisting back, and throw myself at the door to open passenger side to get hubby in for dr. Appt !

Then I also had to chip ice carefully off trunk..another half hour or so in about 2 degree weather in the wind..guess wind chill took it to the minus..I coukd barely feel my face after that.

But got pretty good news! Hubby can now walk more in the boot, and he starts rehab next week! He shoukd be out of boot in 4 weeks!!!! Light at end of tunnel!!
Best part….HE CAN MOVE HIS FOOT UP AND DOWN!!!
which means he will be able to drive his car again!
But sadly, he most likely won’t be able to drive the big trucks anymore. But at least he’s no longer in danger of losing the leg. And he’ll walk again. That’s really all that matters!

Thanks moms! I couldn’t move my face for 15 mins after that!lol. And my nose hurt. It’s fine now..but my legs still feel cold..it just went bone deep..I haven’t been in that cold of a temp since..gee can’t remember ever having to go out in it this bad. Lmbo!
I’m just happy we never lost power here..lots of others close by did..feel bad for those not prepared.

Bitter cold here today… Most if not all schools are closed..Did not venture out
yesterday but was able to get some things accomplished at home..

Oh, Dee, I’ve never tried to make Thai food, but we have an awesome Thai restaurant near us. The lunch special is $6, and it is a full meal with soup appetizer, spring roll, meal, and fried ice cream for dessert. What a bargain! My dd actually went there for dinner last night with some friends. Dinner prices are where the restaurant brings in its $$$$.

Chant—That’s fabulous news!!! So happy for you and dh on the road to recovery.
dee—Our sausage/bean/kale soup didn’t turn out that great, so dh decided to make ham and bean soup on Sun. It turned out much better. I can also attest to it having LOTS of fiber. 😆 Dh and I really like Thai food. Keep the fish sauce…it adds so much flavor. You won’t taste fishy flavor in the dish. We always sub chicken for the shrimp and it turns out great.
Will look for a cute pic of Miss Stella in her pink collar. I didn’t want to inundate the blog with a bunch of pics of my pup 🙂
That NON call during the Saints game was horrible. They were robbed for sure. We will also be rooting for the Rams.

I wanted to stop in and thank everyone for their very generous gifts the past couple weeks. Amazing packages have arrived from Booper, wophy, QueeniB, Zeker and RubieCubes. Thank you so much for sharing those wonderful things with me. And Cheese you make my head spin!! Please excuse anyone I may have missed. My memory isn’t quite what it used to be. Weather here has been awfully cold, rainy and windy. It has been enough to make sleeping difficult. At times it felt like the whole house was going to blow apart. Hi all! I’m feeling MUCH better! I put husband on Kiddo Duty for two nights in a row, and took NyQuil. Two days of that, and I’m feeling a lot better than I was before. I have a slight sinus infection threatening, though but I’m trying steam and warm compresses to clear the sinus out before it gets too bad.
Choco, I love that you have guinea pigs! They’re such sweet critters, and I feel that they’re under-appreciated as pets if you don’t have little kids. They’re such great little companions for adults too.
Chant, I’m impressed with your camera arsenal. I wish we could have cameras like that at our place! Husband is a bit too skeptical about how they broadcast wireless, and can be hacked so anyone can view your property. I also maybe could use some wildlife cams- some weird stuff must come through our yard at night. We find dead rats (cats? Owls?), bones, and even dog toys in our yard!
We still can’t find anyone to fix our drywall, cabinets, and bathroom from the pipe leak on Nov 2. We’re getting super frustrated, but haven’t exhausted out options yet. The roof began to leak in December, and we had that patched (we will need a new one sooner than we want, though). And now the washing machine broke over the weekend. *LE SIGH* Home ownership- YAY, I suppose.
Having fun with the rescue team event! Took speed classes and bought a few first aid kits, but haven’t made any smoothies yet today.
Wednesday Estore berries are tempting! I’ve not seen the moonberries for sale on their own- just in a bundle!

Ugh, Puma … I know what you’re going through. That first couple of days with this sinus (I don’t know if it’s a virus or a general bug) is absolute Musery, with a Capital ‘M.’ There seems to be a dry hack that almost whistles when it hits in spasms that accompanies this. It plugs up your ears and makes you sound like you’re talking through a Tuba. I went home, yesterday with about $100 worth of remedies, none of which seem to give any more than an hours’ relief. This is one case where ‘Sharing is Caring’ does not apply.
I need some of my Mom’s homemade chicken noodle soup. And someone to sing me, ‘Soft Kitty.’ LOL *cough, cough*

Surgery in morning..ugh. not really in mood to do this…actually this is first time I’ve had surgery that I feel super nervous..just keep thinking I’m not ready..which is weird..for crying out loud I had a breast reduction and mutiple other surgeries..this should be a piece of cake..yet I’ve got these nagging thoughts..not sure why?
I know I have to do this. But I feel like backing out. Something feels off for me.

Puma & Dixie – Hope you all feel better soon! Dd had a nasty sinus infection last week and she missed two days of work. She is feeling better now. Today is the first day she appears to have energy. She came home from work and made dinner! 🙂 Some curry dish that was delicious! She basically guessed on all the seasonings & threw in whatever she could find in the fridge. No written recipe that I know of! LOL!
Chant – My thoughts & prayers will be with you tonight and then again tomorrow as you face your surgery! Not sure why it doesn’t feel right to you, but hoping that it is only uncertainty and not some premonition of how it might be. On another note…how thoughtful of your husband. Dixie, we load up on 10,000IU of Vitamin D (just 1,000 for kiddo), 250+mg Vitamin C (125 for lil’ man), and elderberry syrup. Ibuprofen for aches, and NyQuil overnight. Also hot teas, honey, foods with garlic, and apple cider vinegar with hot water and honey (YUM!). I think my sinus just drained out, so hopefully the pressure and pain won’t come back. Do you do acupressure to relieve sinus pressure? Press a finger right between your eyebrows, and at the same time, press your tongue flat to the roof of your mouth- hold both for 20 seconds. If no relief within a few minutes, do the same, but press and release your tongue repeatedly against the roof of your mouth. This moves the vomer bone in your nose slightly, and should make congested sinuses drain promptly. It’s my lifesaving method. I wish I had known it years ago!!
Dee, do you have Netflix? Watch the “Tidying Up With Marie Kondo” and learn her KonMari method of tidying- That’ll get you inspired to deep clean, tidy, and rearrange the room! I’m already wanting to KonMari the house, but my killer cold kept me in check so far. 😉

Came home last night with what seems like the beginning of what is going around… Took 2 tsp of Children Liquid Dimetapp.. and curled up under a blanket….a little better this morning… we’ll see how the day goes..
Starting new Omnicell med dispenser today and really can’t miss it…hopefully can get through today and things will improve !

quick question-does anyone know where the walls and floors came from that are in the clubhouse room with the bear in it? I absolutely adore that room & would like to try & replicate it. not 100%, but a lot of the things that are in there. so any tips on that room would be great.

Puma – they are great pets! I never paid much attention to them before but then my boyfriend got 2 from someone he knew who couldn’t take care of them anymore. Unfortunately one passed away last year, but we still have the other. She’s such a cute little thing and pretty low maintanance as far as pets go. Just gotta keep her living space clean, keep her fed and watered, and give her lots of love.

choco, ours loved paper lunch bags and i would always pick up a handful of green beans to give her………..she was our first new pet here…..her old school had one as a class pet and we got to watch her over spring break once and we just fell in love with the species……..we would love it when she did her popping and squeaking! she was quite the cuddle bug too! we went all over town here looking for one of them baby slings so that we could carry her around…..she died after about four years………i guess you can litter train them??
she was a sweetheart tho………..she is buried in the back yard and i planted daffodils there………
she even went on a road trip once with us to alabama. stopped at a cracker barrel to eat and we got a plain salad for her………parked her in our friends dining room for the visit and all had a great time………miss her

Hi everyone!
No surgery today. Apparently my body agreed with my funky thoughts.. 430am it woke me up with a throat full of food…barely made it to bathroom..5 mins later…the other end erupted!
I was sweating and running low grade fever. Spent about an hour in bathroom..it took me down hard. I went back to bed. Stayed till 130pm. Hubby called and cancelled.

Found out later, that hubby was preparing to go with me and stay for entire time! Which was not the plan. But he said he didn’t like how unsure I was..said it felt like a premonition to him and I’d never, with all the surgeries I’ve had in past, said the things,id said this time.
Probably for the best..

Dee – I think they can be taught to use a little tray. Haven’t tried it with ours, I think she’s too old to learn. A road trip with a piggy sounds interesting. Mine just sleeps, eats, and po0ps (does the censor approve of that word? not risking it) so I don’t think she’d be too difficult to travel will.
If any of you are cat ladies (like myself) or just want a good laugh, you need to watch catwalk on netflix, it’s about cat shows. There’s this giant fluffy orange one and if anyone is interested in sneaking into canada with me to kidnap that cat, let me know. One day I’m gonna be one of those crazy cat ladies parading my cats around the country. When I visit your cities for cat shows, I expect you guys to come out and support me and my hoard of cats.

April… Loved the new picture of Stella !! The look seems to say … Should I or shouldn’t I..!! Made my day !
Still a bit under the weather.. made through the procedures at work and was able to go home.. crawled under a blanket and took a nap… Planning to head back to work today but probably isn’t the best idea.. But it is Friday and will have the weekend to catch up…

Feeling a bit better. Puma, good suggestion. I forgot about Hot Apple Cider vinegar and Honey! WAY better than Neo-Citran, that stuffs deadly.
April! I was beginning to think I was the only one who watched that show! It is my favorite and I like Young Sheldon, too. I am going to miss them when they finish this season. I think it’s going to be very emotional for that last show, too.
By the way, I love that daring look on Stella, she is such a funny lil pup.

I double checked them with the podkinz just now the moonbeam tile ones look correct – am I blind and losing it??? and which cookie code? the top one from the lil purple cow estore page looks correct
