Thank you soooo much for the recent gifts cheese! I was so excited to get them. I just want to mention that one of the roses you sent was the pink one and not the light pink one that I was looking for. If you would like me to return it I would be happy to let you use it since I only need one. I noticed that all of the colors I have are messed up on the roses when placed in rooms which is weird.

Of the snowflake prizes I have an extra curved frozen creek tile, 4 extra ski pants, 1 ski jacket, and at least two extras of the window, hill and sign.
I am looking for 1 neon green ski goggles, 1 neon green skis, and 2 cross country floor tiles.
Of the cookie prizes I do have 1 extra ski lift sofa, and I may have some of the previous year’s other items if anyone is interested.
I also want to mention I have an extra ski slopes wallpaper if anyone is interested in trading an ATV for it.
Also, I am interested in any of the brand new items except the neon pink clothing.

Good Morning All !
Winter storm here in CLE not as bad as predicted… looks like 3 inches of snow overnight… Roads should be in good shape ….
moms… The cake that I often speak of is nothing really unusual in appearance. However…. The frosting is the best I’ve ever had… Not too sweet and very creamy… Could eat a bowl of frosting ! The chocolate cake is always delicious too….Top it off with chocolate sprinkles… Priceless !
My brother’s family are strict vegans… he is not… SO for his birthday I am making a beef tenderloin… mashed potatoes and corn on the cob.. although out of season is really good… ( not sure where it comes from )…. We always gather on Sunday at my Mom’s so she can enjoy some activity and family…
Just a bit of humor… I call her every morning from my cell and everyday before I leave work to head over to her house…… She knows my cell number…. However .. I called her the other day and I said HI MOM…. She answered…
“I don’t speaka da English” and slammed the phone down….She gets a lot of robo calls during the day which are very annoying…especially when napping!!
still makes me chuckle !!

Momz, you can live vicariously through me! We have a beautiful 5 inches of fluffy snow on the ground, and it is supposed to snow all day today as well. I LOVE being house-bound, especially if there is snow, electricity, and wifi. 😉
I noticed the wonky, new wordpress blocks. I noticed it at work the other day, as well. It’s not too different, but you have to click around a little to figure out how to save your wish lists. I don’t see the big improvement, but hopefully, they know what they are doing.
Thank you, Cheese, for keeping up with my wish list! I am off to check through them this morning (thanks to being snowed in). I usually don’t have a lot of success, but every once in a while, I find something for someone.
Have we been given a code for a free cookie yet? I thought I remembered them usually giving us one, and I think I remember our new mayor promising some to us, but can’t remember when, where, etc. I am waiting to buy any …

Seriously QofS? We are not getting any snow, here. When we do, it’s been melting within a few days. All of our cars, here, are the same color. Muddy brown from driving in oatmeal. It’s supposed to get colder, again. Hopefully we’ll see snow, too. Everything looks so clean with a fresh blanket of white.
GaGa, I know your Mom! I call her Mom LOL She’s exactly the same as yours. One time someone called her up to ‘fix her windows!’ She is a smart senior who knows her way around her computer and she answered, ‘Oh thank GOD you called! I’ve been waiting for two weeks, I called the office and they said they’d be sending someone to clean my windows and no one has shown up! My windows are a mess and now they’re really hard to see out of!’
Then they said something about computer cleaning, she replied ‘What computer, didn’t you say windows people? I need my windows cleaned, I can clean my computer just fine! It’s my windows I need clean!’
They went round and round and finally hung up. My Mom just giggled. ‘That’ll teach them to call a senior!’

Boper—Thanks for your generosity! What a fun contest! Can’t wait to see who wins. I was able to get a few packs so didn’t want to be included…I think the contest is over now, but one of my favorite items is the globe from fall fest several years ago…Autumn Tree Globe. (Thank you TLL) It was back in the day when you could catch leaves all day and night. Those globes were so hard to get and I spent days trying to get one. I thought I had one the lottery when I finally got one. And it so pretty with the leaves that fall from the tree.

Bepsy, 2 cross country floor tiles are on their way! I caught a ton of snowflakes, and have a lot of spares of pieces. An old friend is going to try and resurrect her Webkinz account soon, after almost as long a hiatus as me (10 years!!) so I’m going to load her up with my spares! Happy belated Winterfest! 😀
Taking Kiddo to the Buford Highway Farmer’s Market today- Moms, have you ever been? It’s a giant international market on Buford highway, FULL of exotic produce, European packaged treats, a Russian bakery, a HUGE seafood counter, and a large selection of Mexican and Asian groceries! We love to stock up on favorite treats from our Japan trips, and Kiddo likes stroopwaffles! It’s a great place to go for a field trip.
Dee- I don’t think I’ve ever made, or even HAD chicken piccata. Can you share your favorite recipe?
I sort of wish we had snow. Mostly it’s safe to wish it because we all stay home, and husband works from home, and we could hunker in, but I know what huge problems it causes down south here. Hailing from MI, I miss the exciting feelings of watching a huge snowstorm blanket everything in insulating, fresh, white. The cozy feeling of having movies and books and tea and cocoa and warm dinners, and playtime in the snow when I was younger.

and i googled to see if i could find the recipe i used and cannot
2 chicken breasts trimmed and halved and beaten to 1/4 inch thick (i am assuming you know how to do this)
1/4 c flour
salt and pepper
1/4 c butter
1 lemon
melt butter in large skillet
dredge flattened breasts in flour/salt/pepper mixture
brown on each side 3-4 min, set aside
juice lemon to pan bits and scrape all the yummy bits off pan to make the sauce. I add capers as we like them
serve over rice, egg noodles or pasta

and i am not trying to be insulting, but just in case there are any newer cooks on here……..make sure the chicken is cooked……..
i gave a recipe once to someone that was pretty specific and they changed stuff and were peeved that i gave them a bad recipe………
but there are lots of variations out there of this and i even saw a slow cooker one……..but we like how the chicken is crispy brown on the outside

Happy birthday to Patsy, Boper and Moms!
Well, the end of work week one is literally the END of work week one. As much as I loved the job itself, the commute was unbearable. I went ahead and resigned on Friday. Whether I get the other job or not, I need to find something closer to home. My managers were disappointed that I left, but they understood. I feel like a huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders, so I know it was the right decision.
The other job is still up in the air, but the clinical director called me at home late Friday evening. I thought that I was originally supposed to meet with two people at the interview on Wednesday evening, but only one showed up, so I figured that I had misunderstood. I was actually supposed to meet with two people, but one wasn’t able to make it, so he called me Friday night. He will be my direct supervisor if I get the job. So we did an impromptu phone interview, which lasted about 45 minutes. He consistently spoke to me as if I was already working there, telling me everyone’s names, explaining who they were and what their roles are, asking me if I’m willing to attend weekly meetings for two different departments and how the departments operated, etc. The conversation went very well, and he repeatedly said that he was excited to find someone who has this experience. He ended the call by saying that he would pass his recommendation on to the rest of the hiring team, and I should receive a call from the HR director early next week. Even though I haven’t been offered the position, I still feel extremely confident that they are planning to offer it to me.
It’s actually working out really well that I will have the early part of next week off. Maybe the entire week, depending on when they want me to start, assuming they come through with the offer like I anticipate. My daughter starts back to college on Monday. Last semester was her first semester of college, and she did great, but she attended all of her classes at a small community college that’s 5 miles up the road from us. This semester, she is taking all of her classes at a much larger university, and it’s about a 30 minute drive on the interstate, so she’s a little nervous about driving it. So I’m glad I’ll be able to go with her at least on Monday and Tuesday to help her find her classes. She also needs to get a student ID card and some other stuff. We’ve driven to the campus and walked around a bit just so she can get a feel for what it’s like, but she is really nervous about her first day. She’s so relieved to have me going with her, and I would not have been able to do that with the early morning commute at the other job.
Our home remodel is going very well too. The drywall guys have made great progress this week. They’re supposed to be done by Tuesday afternoon. Once it’s done, my husband is going to level the floor, and then the three of us are going to lay laminate and tile flooring. We’ve done it before and it has turned out great. We’ll save a lot doing it ourselves. Then my husband is going to hang the doors and trim. Then I will paint. This will give us four rooms back, including my daughter’s bedroom and bathroom and my sewing room! It will also give me my office back, because she’s been using that as a bedroom while we’ve been remodeling her bedroom. Some of you might remember that we remodeled her bedroom last summer. That was actually my office, which is very small for a bedroom. We put all kinds of storage in it, so it will be the coolest office ever once we move her back into her big bedroom. I’ll be so glad to get my desk out of the family room and back in my office!
We have been remodeling this old house since we moved in 9 years ago. Every time we fix one thing, we find three other problems. But we’re finally making some great progress. Our goal is to be able to put it on the market next spring, in 2020, and hopefully sell it by next summer. If we continue to make the kind of progress on it that we’ve made this year, that’s a totally reachable goal.
I hope everyone here is well! I got to spend some time in the trading room yesterday, but otherwise, I’ve hardly had time to play Webkinz the last couple weeks. Too much going on! On the Job front, sounds to me like you are hired! That’s exactly how my interview for a managerial position went. She was all excited and very impressed and kept asking me questions. Very actively engaged and positive. I got the call 3 days later and she said, ‘I am pleased to offer you the position!’ After that it was a blur. I was SO excited! It sounds very positive Ruby, best of luck, though it sounds to me as if you’ve already got it.
Reno’s … I’m in the same place as you. Same place last 12 years and every time we rip out something, three more jobs are revealed. It really makes you wonder, ‘WHAT were they thinking???

bil is coming to town for dhs bday…….actually coming for something else, just turned out to be dhs bday……..i had bought dh predator tickets for the game on his bday for christmas……….so guess who is taking my ticket?

Good morning! Happy Tuesday!
Wow! Thank you so much, Boper! What an incredible surprise! My pet has already chomped them down. No grand prize, but only one duplicate, so I was extra lucky. 🙂 Got extra Neon Pink Skis and would be happy to share. I also got teal figure skates, neon pink goggles, expert ski slope, and a Rescue Team Helmet, so that made me really happy. 🙂 I might put the rest of the outfit on my wish list at some point. I really like the whole rescue team concept, so I’m looking forward to the Rescue Team Challenge later in the month.
And thank you, Momz, for the wish list items! I once had that sweet and salty popcorn string, but I though it was a decoration, and when I dragged it into the room to put it on the wall, my pet ate it. 🙁 Sad day. So this one is going directly in the fridge. 🙂

i forgot to buy wraps at the grocery store yesterday, and i don’t want to go back – i have spent all day so far cleaning house, washing fruit, restocking frozen pb&js, etc.

took dh to red lobster for early bday lunch……
why do they bring them bisquits when you sit down?
it was a struggle to eat my meal………after i gave dh half my salad….stinking bisquits
ooooh………..they should offer a bisquit and salad lunch deal!

just got done watching a live pd episode
cops pulled them over for expired plate………driver has no license, no insurance and no registration………then gets upset for the cops harassing him
um………….fill me in please if i am unaware of some change to having to have a drivers license and whatnot to drive a car…..

gaga—Stella loves the snow! What little we have. She licks it and plays in it, the cold doesn’t seem to bother her too much, she has a pretty thick coat. She was a pistol today. Chewed the carpet in the hallway a bit, but now I know there is hardwood under there! 🙂 The carpet is old, so no big loss there. Dh has been out of town and she misses rough housing with him. When he comes home from work her little butt wiggles so fast she can hardly walk!
