Ruby, making that costume sounds so great. My mom made almost all of our childhood costumes for us, and I’m making kiddo’s too. Which anime is it from? Husband and I don’t watch anything recent, but we were super otaku about 10 years ago.
QoS, I can attest to going to bed at the same time as your partner! Husband and I have been together for 14 years, lived together for 9, and been married 6 and we always go to bed at the same time. Even when we’re raging mad at eachother, we still sit up and talk it out (sometimes for HOURS past bedtime) instead of going to bed separate and mad. <3
Finishing Kiddo's costume today (he wants to be Bumblebee from Transformers), so I carved up a cardboard box for the body, and theoretically, it can actually transform into a car and then back into standing-"robot"-mode! And we're roasting up a pumpkin to make pumpkin pies!

Afternoon Gymbonians!
I have two purple goblin plushies up for grabs if anyone needs them! I also have lots of spare other things, lol, so speak up! The only things I don’t have spares of are green goblin plushies, orange goblin plushies, and orange goblin creek tiles.
Ruby, sounds like an amazing costume! I have always made my children’s costumes, and some of them have been ridiculous. One year my oldest daughter wanted to be a tube of lipstick, and that involved sewing red velvet by hand over plastic canvas to get the right shape. Tedious! And then younger daughter wanted to be a banana (!), so I had to work with piles of polyfill, velcro, and felt, and I had to copy the Chiquita banana sticker exactly (“Mom! That’s not how it looks!” *tiny foot stamp*) in order to make her happy. (The velcro was because she wanted the banana to be able to peel open and then be closed again, goodness!) Thankfully my youngest decided she didn’t want a costume this year, so I have retired my costume-making skills unless my kids present me with grandchildren some day who want handmade costumes. And hopefully that day is a long time away, because I am NOT ready to be a grandmother yet!

I came here this morning to say hey & apparently didn’t post anything. I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve done that.
when I log in it says “site not secure” is that just on my end, or does that happen to anyone else?
and thank The Lord above that my children never wanted hand made costumes!!!! I mean….common, that’s like taking jobs from the people that need them! LOL ๐ ๐ JK, you guys rock! I on the other hand have no problems picking up a package & paying for it! that’s actually the only way my butterbeans would’ve ever gotten good costumes. ๐ so sad, but it’s true.

our warthogs usually have combo costumes – supplement what we make or have with new accessories, except that one year when they went full on disney store captain hook & peter pan – that was adorable! too old to trick or treat now ๐ฅ

No kids here but I took my nephew to his schoolรขโฌโขs trunk or treat thing today. He went as robin from Batman. I was informed of this a little too late to put a costume together for myself. Saw some pretty cool costumes there, but I was more focused on the beautiful Bernese mountain dog the secretary brought. I love those dogs.
May or may not have stolen some of my nephews candy…

I agree with never being too old! Me and my boyfriend went trick or treating last year, I was a cat and he was a stormtrooper. No one questioned our ages, but I can pass for like 16 and he had a mask on.

gaga, we had carazy rain later yesterday afternoon!!! eldest dgd drove over for gardening gloves and while we were in driveway chatting it started raining like crazy in a reeeeally strange way. we looked up at rain and there was a gorgeous rainbow over the trees behind and beyond our house!!! it was truly amazing, something I’d never seen (as we stood getting soaked). grabbed cellphone out of my pocket and got a rather decent picture. lucky I was quick ’cause it didn’t hang around for very long. just long enough for pic and for me to close my mouth. ๐
