Momz – if i had to write those in a week i’d probably drop all of them. I think one is due next month, two in november, and one in december.

The leaves finally started showing up consistently. Not sure how often they were because i just had it open while i was watching tv so i wasn’t paying that much attention to it, but i got all 9 for the day.

I super love that Fox kit, yo! We did B’s nursery up in foxes before he was born. <3 I'm loving fall fest, but the leaves are so SLOW for me. Like 12 minutes or so between leaves (estimated, I'm not timing… yet!). I can't even have Webkinz open while I'm puttering around- kiddo races by and catches me in the act of trying to sneak on! I'm already prepping dinner- cracklin' chicken and homemade fried rice! We love this chicken: https://nomnompaleo.com/post/74180911762/cracklin-chicken

Dee is the sausage in a casing like a kielbasa, or is it loose, like a crumbly breakfast sausage? Either way, I love sausage in pasta! I found a recipe for a sausage butternut squash pasta that I’m itching to try! Nice earthy flavors, and great for fall, too! https://www.tasteandtellblog.com/penne-with-butternut-squash-and-sausage/ Husband and I also LOVE plain old sausage and pierogies (we get frozen pierogies, and sliced sausage in a casing is a bit easier for this) sizzled up in a skillet and garnished with sour cream. Rustic, simple, and filling!

  28. 28 dee said,

    cased…………kielbasa style…………pierogies are lovely…..

i usually do red beans and rice or jambalaya, just wanted to lay off peppers and rice for a bit………not necessary……….i saw some pasta ones online that look okay…….just wondered if any gymboians had recipes, but it seems like you and i are the only ones who cook food……….moms crockpots and gaga grills a lot

and all of us like recipes, so feel free to share……..
do ya got any vegan? I have gobs and we have no problem doing vegan. my dd is vegan and she is a fantabulous cook and baker! FOR A KID!

I LOVE to cook! And from scratch whenever I can! We make stews, dumplings, chicken pies, anything with sides of roasted vegetables, pasta with LOADS of cheese, and I love one-pot skillet-y casserole-y meals. Your sausage made me remember that I have several frozen Italian sausages in the deep freeze, and that maybe we need to get pierogoes next time we go shopping! I do crockpot some, but I just love real live cooking so much. I sort of grill. I’m unskilled at it in general, so I’d rather roast or bake. We’re not vegan- my metabolism requires lots of protein and fat, and we can’t afford to eat Vegan LOL We’d to bankrupt. That, and Cheese is a gift from Heaven. So I’ve never researched them much. 😉 I’ll see if I can dig up some of my overall fave recipes and post them.

Right away, I remember these: our favorite potato side. We slather them with olive oil and real butter, and sprinkle them with garlic powder! https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ree-drummond/crash-hot-potatoes-recipe-1976810

And this is my current addiction: https://damndelicious.net/2014/09/19/garlic-parmesan-roasted-broccoli/ Kiddo and I can’t eat this fast enough.

We also do this for lunch at least once a week: https://www.geniuskitchen.com/recipe/baked-pollock-106395 With the broccoli, roasted chiekpeas, and sliced apples, it’s perfect!

Dee – tell your dd to start a youtube channel for all of her cooking. There’s a decent sized youtube community of college age vegans. I watch half a dozen or more different ones.
I’m only vegetarian, but i do try to avoid most animal products.

mmm…. peanut butter cookies with Reeses Pieces

I just cooked off a dozen egg and cheese sandwiches on English Muffins. I’m letting them cool so that I can freeze them. They make easy, convenient microwaveable breakfasts for husband and daughter before school and work during the week.

Gaga – This doctor said that, because the stone is so high up in the ureter, there is concern that if they try to get it, they could push it back into the kidney. There is also risk of perforation. He is also concerned about the risk of excessive bleeding due to me being on a blood thinner for Afib. I would have to be off the blood thinner for about 10 days if he does it in one procedure, and it’s riskier.

He advises going in to place the stint, which is very low risk for bleeding, so I won’t have to stop the blood thinner prior to the procedure. Give the stint a week to stretch the ureter open. Then he can go in with a scope much more easily and locate the stone and remove it. Due to the trauma caused by the scope and removal of the stone, it is common for the ureter to swell and occlude the ureter, sometimes completely, which can lead to extreme pain and kidney damage. So with this procedure, they always leave a stint in for an additional week after the stone removal to give the ureter time to heal. Then a week later, it’s a very simply procedure to remove the stint. It’s normally a two-part surgery, but in my case it will be three because of the location of the stone being so high and the potential for bleeding. It’s a much bigger hassle to have three surgeries instead of two, but if it’s safer and I don’t have to stop the blood thinner, I would prefer to do it in three stages. He also said that the stint can sometimes be uncomfortable, usually not as bad as the stone itself, but some people have moderate pain from the stint. He said that he will treat the pain throughout the process, until the stone and stints are out.

I have not received my new insurance cards yet, but I received my welcome letter with my member ID and all the info that the urologist’s office will need. I have to call them with that info this week so they can get the surgeries scheduled. I have to make an appointment with my PCP to get surgical clearance as well.

On a positive note, my daughter had her final follow up appointment this week with her orthopedic surgeon. Her ankle is fully healed, and he cleared her to start ice skating again. He wants her to remain in physical therapy for another 4 weeks because her calf lost a lot of strength while she was wearing the air boot, and he doesn’t want her doing any jumps on the ice yet. He wants her to focus on strengthening her calf muscle and improving her balance in therapy, but she is cleared to skate on two feet or her non-surgical foot. She can progressively increase her activity on the ice over the next four weeks. She was so excited when he gave her that news, she squealed and hopped out of his office with a hug smile on her face. The people in the waiting room were laughing at her. A lady said, “Well someone got some good news!” It was so cute. I’ve never seen her so excited! So I took her skating with two friends Friday night, and she has her first coaching lesson scheduled for Tuesday afternoon. She is so happy!

Moms – I agree about the fox kit. That’s one of the cutest Webkinz pets I’ve seen in a long time! Do you know if it is going to be a plush pet? If so, I may have to buy one of them. Adorable!

I like the three little goblins too. I haven’t decided yet if I’m going to get them or not. They are very original pets though, so I might.

I hope you all have had a wonderful weekend! Stay warm and dry!

I can’t imagine waiting months to get rid of a kidney stone … they are so incredibly painful! I think about you often, and pray this will go quickly for you!

More rain for us today and most of this week. I know one of these days we’ll get that bright sunny day when I’m off work. It’s really been a while! (There goes my seasonal affective disorder again … haha!)

There are GARGOYLE torches that are very cool !! so check them all out and share for all to hear about please. . 1 last thing I have CHROME and use FireFox together. Shorty, I’ve never made a breakfast skillet, but my mom has a good breakfast bake that has bread, eggs, sausage, and potatoes baked together. I can get the recipe from her, if you’re interested. He’s her go-to Big Breakfast when visitors are over. Breakfast for us is pretty much just some incarnation of eggs and toast, and kiddo is hooked on waffles- I never thought about skillets! I HAVE made delicious frittatas, and those are similar- (ham, gouda, roasted asparagus and broccoli, parmesan, boiled sliced potato with garlic, diced red pepper, basil, and eggs scrambled with cream- MMMMM!)

(Also, just googled breakfast skillet and MY GOD: They’re beautiful! Yesss, I’ll be making some of THESE soon!)

MomT, I generally don’t LOVE costumes on my pets. There’s a few exceptions on this list that I think are nifty, but I have no use for mot of them. Let me know which pieces you need after the costume deluge, and I’ll see if I can fill in any gaps!

Speaking of costumes, does anybody have the Astronaut Suit shirt from… (heh) 10 years ago? I had the whole astronaut set, but the shirt is MIA. It’s probably in a closet somewhere, but I haven’t found it yet!

dee—I second Ruby’s dish…we saute sausage in cast iron and then saute cabbage or potatoes…yummy! We made shepherd’s pie this weekend and I always make extra mashed tater topping.

Ruby—wonderful news about dd! I could feel her happiness through your writing! Thanks for your thoughts for Diesel. He took the move okay. It helps I am able to work from home so he’s not alone all day. He was glued to me like velcro for the first couple of weeks, but he’s slowly adjusting. Happy to hear you found a good surgeon and you are in good hands.

gaga—hope you had a great family day with your niece yesterday. Thanks for the well wishes for D. He took his last dose of meds this morning…prayers and fingers crossed!

Chococate—you really have a lot on your plate for papers! Try focus on one paper at time and then move on to the next one. 🙂 You will get through it!

    moms—Love the Fox Kit! Adorable!

My leaves are falling about every 5-6 mins. I don’t go anywhere, I stay on the news page and work with the screen moved over so I can see when a leave flies by.

Wishing all a happy leave catching day!

april – hopefully D will be all better now that he is finished with his medicine!

someone asked about the fox kit – it should be estore only – no plush, and i have been watching out for that very pretty Jewel Beetle too – idk when they will make it available

my leaves on my main were consistently every 4-6 minutes today, i just stayed in my house & decorated – all of dee’s cooking commentary inspired me to make a set for her or her dd’s cooking show

Oh dear. 😉 I quite enjoy swearing, actually. I make an effort to curb it here- trying to make a good impression and all (I can’t even recall where it would have been typed for a comment), but sometimes I get comfortable, like I’m talking to friends, and my natural tendencies slip out. 😉 LOL Sometimes, the most accurate thing you can say is a swear word- sometimes no other word will work! And isn’t there evidence that straightforward, honest, and well-educated people, especially women, are the ones who swear most eloquently? But *cu min* :::GASP::: Whatever shall we DO? 😉 Such filth XD. Unacceptable 😀

Also, with leaping llama being the game of the day, I was able to win the trophy. took quite a few tries though. 🙂

Bepsy – congrats on the trophy won!! You all seem so talented at these arcade games! I’ve only won two trophies – one from Hoppy Little Rocket Ship (took so many tries!) and the other from the Scrambled omelet making game 🙂

Couldn’t sleep so I got up an hour ago! I have a really big week ahead and Fall Fest is complicating it more! LOL!

Anyway, I’m hoping October slows down a bit so that I can work on a wish list.

Meanwhile, I’m enjoying this community! I’m definitely a Webkinz addict! As far as food….I’m not much of a cook, but it is hard to avoid inspiration here! Ha ha!

PumaPardus, your frittatas sound yummy. I have never made one of those. I mostly make pancakes. Once in awhile I make waffles. I have two cans of pureed pumpkin that are expiring soon. Besides pumpkin bread and pumpkin pie, what else is a good use of canned pumpkin? I have made pumpkin pancakes before. My family likes conventional pancakes more.

Dee LMAO about the vet. Maybe take the cats out for a trip somewhere else??

Haven’t had time to catch leaves yet. Maybe tomorrow though.
Halloween is looking really fun in WW this year (as always!). Did everyone see the Deluxe challenge prize? So cool

Nice room Moms. If I know anything about college apartments, that’s probably much nicer than Dee’s dd’s kitchen

Shorty I have a phenomenal recipe for pumpkin chocolate chip cookies that are a tradition in our family, as well as one for pumpkin cream cheese squares! This morning is CRAZY with homeschool, but as soon as I get some downtime, I’ll type it up. Otherwise, kiddo and I have been nuts about this “pudding”: https://againstallgrain.com/2017/10/09/paleo-pumpkin-chia-seed-pudding-recipe/ Might be worth a try, if you’re into chia seeds and coconut 😉

Did everyone get the costume pieces they wanted from Miss Cowoline? I don’t really collect costumes, so if you need a piece, let me know and I can see if I have it!
