Memorial Day
Monday is Memorial Day (formerly known as Decoration Day) . Memorial Day is a federal holiday in the United States for remembering the people who died while serving in the United States armed forces.
Many organizations have concerns that moving the original holiday to a Monday to turn it into a long holiday weekend diminishes the meaning of the day. As a response, the “National Moment of Remembrance†resolution was passed in December 2000. It asks that at 3 p.m. local time all Americans “voluntarily and informally observe in their own way a Moment of Remembrance and respect, pausing from whatever they are doing for a moment of silence or listening to Taps.â€

Memorial Day is a Great Day to honor your fallen who paid the price of freedom with their blood. As you say a prayer for someone who loved you enough to go and fight for you, enjoy your true freedom, tomorrow.

gaga—We did find one house we like. But we are going to wait and head up again in a few weeks. The property is beautiful, but it needs some work and it’s got a driveway that’s on a steep incline and winds around. That concerns me in the winter. We’d have a get a plow service for sure. Have a wonderful day with your family and seeing your ‘Irish twin’ brother. Your mom must have had her hands full when you all were young. 🙂

Honoring our fallen heroes this Memorial Day.
I think the perspective on saying “happy” memorial day is that the day is seen as a remembrance of those who have fallen while serving our country, and we can use this day to celebrate the life they had and their efforts to protect us (not my opinion, just what I’ve heard others say)
