I am having a hard time keeping up with what, when, where, & why for Webkinz, so I thought this post would serve as a good reminder to prioritize for today!

ATTENTION: DEE
Amish Cookies
Step 1: Cream together:
3 ¾ cup sugar
1 lb. margarine
1 TB baking soda
1 TB salt
Step 2: Add & mix well:
5 eggs
1 ½ cup buttermilk
1 TB vanilla
1 tsp. lemon juice
10 cups of flour (up to 11 cups)
1 TB baking powder
Step 3: Mix well & refrigerate overnight.
Step 4: Roll out & cut out cookies.
Step 5: Bake @350 for 9-10 minutes.
Step 6: Frost & decorate.
Notes: I usually have to knead in a bit more flour before rolling out cookies or they are too sticky to pick up. I often cut the recipe in half and it still makes plenty.
If you cut the recipe in half, use 3 eggs, 2 cups sugar and 1 tsp. lemon juice (everything else is in half).
Buttercream Frosting for Amish Cookies
4 TB butter or margarine
1 tsp. vanilla
¼ tsp. salt
4 cups sifted confectioner’s sugar (powdered)
5 TB milk (or less)
Blend butter, vanilla & salt. Add sugar and milk alternately beating after each addition until soft. You may not need as much milk.
Note: Add food coloring for different frosting colors.

To all who sent well-wishes for dd’s graduation party! It was a success! The only surprise to me is that many of the guest had already eaten something, so I had TOO much food! Not sure how that happened. It was interesting meeting her friends from all her various sections of life: work, school, clubs, etc. I would say the highlight of my evening was conversing at the same time with two guys that are both interested in my dd. I wonder if they knew about the other! LOL!
The hard rain held off for the main ceremony earlier in the day which was outside. Took towels to wipe down the wet chairs. We did not see our daughter in the procession nor could we see the speaker or the stage, so that was disappointing. (Everyone had umbrellas up). The next ceremony was in an auditorium and it was quite enjoyable. Then the party. I haven’t done a count, but we planned for 50.
The graduation party was her gift. The Spain trip is for a summer job as an au pair and teaching English to two school-aged boys. She spent fall semester in Spain and will be in a town that is about an hour away from the place she lived earlier. I’m excited for her. Most of the time I’m at peace about it, but sometimes I worry since we really don’t know the family she is staying with. (We didn’t before either, but that family was approved by her school). Anyhow, the next couple of days will be a whirlwind as she prepares.

P.S. I should say this, especially since there is a resident cook her on Gymbo’s (Dee), but we had a taco bar! Chicken, Ground Beef & Black Bean options, etc.

I meant to say resident cook “here”, but I guess I’m typing too fast! ha ha!~
RubyCubes – Your family situation doesn’t sound pleasant. Glad your current family gives you so much joy. Maybe your birth family will get their act together and decide to forgive past offenses or whatever it is that built up a wall. Reaching out to your parents is the right thing to do and I admire you for that! I hope there can be some reconciliation. Life is too short to live with bitterness (or whatever it is).
Not that familiar with wish lists that you mentioned Ruby. But I did come across it once when I was searching this blog. Maybe this summer when I have more time with decorating I could figure out what I would wish for. I’ve sort of had a motto to work with what I have, because otherwise I might get uptight.
Gagagee – Glad your nieces arrived safely back from Nicaragua! Whew! That is good news! I bet they will have lots of stories to share.
As far as the bake sale, I haven’t really collected a lot, but hopefully enough for what I would like. Was able to play WW with step grand-daughter today. She is nine. I cringed when she put two bake sale items and one other item as stove recipe to get gak! Sigh! She isn’t able to play Webkinz unless she is with me. Sometimes I will call her an arrange a time online. (She lives 3+ hours away). But she doesn’t understand the value of items yet. And I’m not sure she has the interest like my oldest dd had in WW (now her step-mom).

Good Morning from WI!!
Gaga—you must have had a sixth sense! We drove up Sat., saw a few houses, made it to the cottage we rented with the furry baby (his name is Diesel…Dees…DeeDee Bear) 🙂 We went to a supper club for dinner. Sat outside overlooking a lake. It was gorgeous! Saw 5 or 6 houses yesterday. My brain was scrambled after that and not sleeping. I just don’t sleep away from home. We have two that are potentials. One is a fixer upper, and one is really great, but comes with a really great price tag and we’d have to finish the basement to ever have family visit. We’d be paying for the property which is beautiful. We are seeing two more today. I dropped dh off at his new work so I could have the truck. I felt like I was dropping him off on his first day of school! LOL The town is cute and has everything one could need. Everyone is so nice and friendly. So glad your nieces made it home safe! I bet they have some stories to tell. Good luck to your CAVS !
CatMom—hope you are healing well and back to regular activities soon!
QofS—congratulations on your dd’s graduation and what sounds like an awesome party! Will keep her in my thoughts and prayers as she travels to Spain. Thanks for the cookie recipe!
Ruby—I’m sorry about your family struggles. Trust me, we ALL have them! You are not alone! Both my bro and I had a strained relationship with our grandma when my dad got sick. It became non existent after he passed. I could fill pages about that. I made the decision not to invite her to my wedding. And it was the right call. It’s sad, she was a fun and loving grandma when we were kids. I don’t believe your parents would have moved back near you if they didn’t (maybe in some small way) want to connect with you and your dd. It breaks my heart that your sweet dd has to learn to be guarded with her own grandma, because I know exactly what that’s like. I think you are doing all you can and keeping the door open and your heart full of love and that’s all any of us can do.
moms—three cheers, three amens and a couple of hallelujahs for good therapy!
When we decided to head up here my first thought was, Oh I hope nothing major is going on in WW! I think I collected enough baked goods before I left. I was up past midnight Friday so I made sure to get the peacock topiary before we left. I hope Ganz comes out with Daily activities on the app soon.
Have a great day!

Me too! I can log on but Every time I try to go to Daily Activities or Arcade (possibly other places, haven’t tried eveywhere), I get this message, “Failed to retrieve data for ‘view’ descriptor(s) matching {4311} id(s)/tag9s)” with an “ok” button. If you hit ok, it unceremoniously logs you off. NO idea what any of that means. 🙁

Oh I found out that if you go to today’s activities and instead of clicking “ok†to the error message click the “log out†button but when it asks if you really want to log out, click “no†and you should be able to access today’s activities again. Worked for me today. Also are the videos you watch for free prizes feature not working for anybody else?
