catmom – it is good to hear from you! i hope you can be patient while you heal – as you know, it is important to rest and allow your body to focus on healing – your dh can take his impatience away from the patient 😉
amber – so happy when you have a chance to comment! how is that girl growing? are you getting out of the house enough? do you go for walks with her in her stroller? that was always a very calming thing to do with mine – i always said when they were fussy & their basic needs met, take them outside or put them in water!

Hello everyone!
Happy Belated Mother’s Day! Mine was very busy! Church, Lunch out with dh & kiddos that live nearby, nap, and tons of phone calls (sis, dd, mil, mom, friend) that kept me on the phone for hours! 🙂
I was away on Monday for over twelve hours! Should be in bed now, but I’m playing catch-up.
LeeAnn – My sympathy goes out to you for the loss of your grandmother. I posted just below your post announcing this and somehow it didn’t register with me. After seeing everyone’s comments I realized I had missed something. Anyway, my thoughts and prayers are with you during this time.
CatMom – Sorry about that detached retina. I can’t imagine going through all that and the thought of keeping still seems impossible. Prayers for healing and a speedy recovery!

Bananas – not my favorite, but for some reason I do like banana bread and banana pudding cakes. Not a fan of banana flavoring in yogurt or other things. Not sure why I like some banana things and not others. It may be the combination of what is used in the dish!

Happy Wednesday! Thanks, Momz, for the list! I get confused when there are a bunch of things going on at once, so that helps simplify everything.
So I spin the Wheel of Yum every day, on all accounts, and have yet to get a peach pie even though they hold 3 slots on the wheel. What gives? No odds are that bad! Anyone had any luck?
I like the bake sale prizes, probably mostly because they are NEW, and looking forward to a quiet morning to bake some items and find homes for them in my houz. 🙂 And putting in codes … Maybe Saturday …
Lurker, the picture guide is incredible! I browsed through it quickly the other day, but looking forward to going through it in more detail. What an amazing job you’ve done! Absolutely mind boggling!
Off to school! We’re almost done! Whew!

Sheba, I’m glad you mentioned we were friends from WI … I hadn’t put that together. Most of the friends I’ve met from there send me gift requests, but rarely return the favor, which I’ve never completely figured out. How hard is it to click the send button when you are clicking the request button? Right? I was thinking of ditching a few … so I’ll make sure I keep you on the FL! 🙂

deeâ€”I too (or three) love reading your posts. Always smile and LOL! And we know your food is dee-lish! 🙂 Oh, dh is all over the boat! But he wants a fishing boat and I want a tooner. He’s even trying to talk me into a cabin on a lake. I’m more…nice house close to a lake. We shall see. I think both of us would like a place with some space for a pole barn/out building/xl garage for said boat and he really wants a man place to smoke is cigars and putz around. We used to love snowmobiling as kids. You are welcome anytime to visit! 🙂
Rainy here today, but I’m happy about it. I love a rainy day once in a while and we need the rain. Going to try and make Povitica today…wish me luck! It’s an Eastern European walnut bread. It’s dh’s nana’s recipe. She loves it and cannot make it anymore so the family takes turns making it and sending to her. It’s my first time. I’ve made yeast-ed breads before, but not often. The Great British Baking Show did it for a challenge. Although, her recipe is slightly different and she pronounces it differently too. Pah-teets-ah.
Miracleâ€”So glad your renovations are almost done and summer break is near! I’m trying to sign on to 10 accts. a day because I don’t have time to catch the bake floaties, and after five days (50 spins) I did win one prize pie from the wheel yesterday. I got the apple chair. 🙂

blueberry upside down cake with fruity pebbles & homemade vanilla frozen yogurt – it was DELICIOUS! the cake was a almost a spice cake flavor but really soft

My dd and her friend made dozens & dozens of cookies for my dd’s graduation party on Saturday. They are our traditional Amish Cookies (with frosting). My dd and I like them with coffee. We are eating the ones that didn’t turn out pretty!

patsie – i’ve been wondering about zingy & rubycubes as well
queen of sheba – is it the amish sugar cookie recipe? i have one, too that are so delicious! it’s one of my family’s favorite “Christmas” cookies, but i’ve never iced them – i think you’re on to something!
this is the recipe i use (posted it a couple of years ago) – definitely interested in seeing yours!
Amish Sugar Cookies
1 cup sugar
1 cup powdered sugar
1 cup butter
1 cup cooking oil
2 eggs
4 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp cream of tarter
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
Mix well
Make small ball, then press down with a small cut glass or vase with a pattern on bottom (to prevent sticking, try dipping glass lightly in cold water before pressing cookie)
Bake on ungreased cookie sheet 350 degrees 10 minutes until very lightly browned edges (10-15 minutes)
