Congrats, Momz! I remember that little Bambi Disney song … my sister and I had it on a record (I know … dating myself), and we played it over and over again. Back before videos, Disney would sell record sets, with a big colorful book. It was a slimmed down version of the movie with most of the songs, so when home videos came out, we felt like we had seen the movies, even though we had never seen one.
I think I fed my last egg to my pet by mistake. I always try to save one for the Easter fridge, and they were all over the place for weeks, and now completely gone. 🙁 And I can’t transfer them . Did we ever get a code for a second white chocolate egg? I ended up with the butterflies (love!), the iron wood side table (love!), a bunch of stream tiles, and the wild blue rose bush (love!) Might have to break down and buy another round. I think with family here, I missed the end of that “celebration!”
One more day off for “spring” break! We’ve actually had decent weather, and I’ve gotten the yard mostly cleaned up. The way our house is turned toward the sun, the people across the street have daffodils, tulips, and we have … nothing. I think my front yard is 3 weeks behind everyone else! 🙁 Hostas are just now starting to poke through. But we will eventually have them … I’m just impatient for spring!

Weather here very rainy.. stormy tonight.. but should hit upper 50’s maybe 60 this afternoon…
Miracle…not sure if there was a second white egg..I too am looking for some signs of flowers coming through the ground.. so far nothing… been pretty cold though…Was doing the Easter dishes at my Mom’s.. looked out the window and there were 5 young deer sauntering around the yard… despite a group of kids jumping on their trampoline… deer looked so thin..but
always fun to see them..

Love the peek a newz gem tiles! I have a couple of the ones from last month and it was a nice surprise when I realized that they were animated and sparkle. I also appreciate how you can rotate them to make a different gem arrangement! Hope everyone had a fun Easter!! I know I still have lots of Easter candy 🙂

chicken i pulled is still frozen ish……..so i added pepper, garlic and some sweet baby rays bbq sauce to the baggie to finish thawing in…….so tomorrow. gonna make mac n cheese too………..and the chicken is an old camping trick if anyone camps…..take your frozen chicken in good ziploc bag and add onions and spices and bbq sauce if you want. it will marinate in the cooler til you are ready. if it is a longer trip, use the frozen chicken as it will keep cooler cool……..
and feel free to double bag……..i am one of them freak out raw chicken kind of folk

Hi everyone!
I read back a few days and saw that Amber has a baby. Someone recommended Ezzo’s BabyWise book. I’m a mom of five (now grown), but after my third baby I implemented some of the suggestions by Ezzo and it was a lifesaver! I’m not sure if I had access to that specific book (need to look on my bookshelves), but I somehow had access to Ezzo’s recommendations. I think the trick was having a routine. Anyway, just thought I’d share that for whatever it is worth.
I made my traditional Easter dinner on Monday! We ate out at Chinese Restaurant on Sunday.

Hi Gymbos friends!
For me, a bunch of dead turkeys is not dinner, it’s a massacre! But my husband and daughter both eat a lot of turkey, so I try not to judge. Just makes me super sad. Seriously. Sometimes when I’m cooking meat for them it makes me so sad thinking about what their lives (and deaths) were like that I cry. Sometimes I hate my own species. 🙁
I have some happy news! Yay! Some snarky news! Huff! And some angry news! GRR! to share….
Happy news first! Because OMG IRL so happy! My kiddo has officially been accepted into her early college program! She has worked SO hard for this! She just turned 16 and is finishing her sophomore year of high school. This fall, she will start college full time. One of her classes will be online. The other three will be at the college. She had the option to apply to a couple colleges that were several hours from here, but she is not ready to leave home, and I am SO happy! I would have never discouraged her from going, but I would much rather have her here. The college she will be attending is only 5 minutes from us, so she will earn full college credit for every class she takes during her junior and senior year of high school, but she can stay right here with me the whole time. We are all so excited for her! And she is so excited! I can’t even express how proud I am of this kid! She is my angel.
That’s our happy news! Yay! Congrats to my baby girl!
Onto to cranky, snarky news! My dishwasher’s lower seal came loose. It’s been leaking for the past couple months, but last week I had a major kitchen flood. Sooo…. called Mr. Dishwasher Repair Man (because yes… I will procrastinate until it’s a crisis… that’s how I roll), who advertises on his website that he does “SAME DAY REPAIR”. But he’s full of ……. I won’t go into all the gory details. I will just tell you that he and I are no longer on friendly terms, and if I do not see my refund process within the next few days, I kid you not, I will take him to small claims court. This is also how I roll. I will spend $100 to take you to small claims court for a $60 refund on principle alone. I once took a ghost to small claims court for a full refund of my rent and 1 months deposit, which exceeded the state’s maximum small claims court allowance, and I won. Ghosts are not as scary as you’d think. I’m dead serious about this (pardon the pun). Seriously, our landlord totally screwed us on a rental property and then unexpectedly died. His ghost had a lawyer, and my husband and I did not. We still totally won. Because facts and photographs stand up in court. Ghosts… not so much. So tomorrow, not only do I have to find a new dishwasher repair person, I also have to wash an entire sink full of yucky dishes by hand! I am SO not a happy camper right now! But the dishwasher repair guy that I fired today is even less of a happy camper, and somehow that makes me a little bit happy on the inside.
In other cranky news… my main computer has been stuck in “restarting” mode for the past two hours. I have another 60 Ebay listings to post, and this is greatly inhibiting my progress! I’m not sure whether I should yell at it and threaten to throw it against the wall if it doesn’t hurry up, or to praise it for its past performance and politely request that it hurries up. Maybe I will just go to bed and hope it has done it’s thing by tomorrow. If it’s still rebooting tomorrow… sigh… I guess I’m also going to have to call the Geek Squad to look at my brain dead computer.
I will make a super mad news post separately, probably tomorrow, since I seem to have a way of angering the censor gods when my posts are too long! 😉

I have had *zero* luck getting gem tiles … for some reason, they have completely eluded me. I keep playing PAN though, so eventually … 🙂
The guy working on our staircase finally came back today. I am used to people who say they are coming on a certain day, and actually show up, so this whole experience has been a bit frustrating. I can go a week without seeing him (after being told he’ll be there every day), and then he shows up and does a fantastic days’ work. He also said he’d be back today, but I’ve heard that before, so we’ll see … At least the work is top notch, so it might be worth the frustration in the end.
Back to school today after a short spring break! Wow, was it nice, though! I saw family, and did a lot of reading, some WW, but not much else. I think I needed the break from the busy-ness of life for a while, so it was nice. 🙂

Happy Thursday! Congrats, Ruby, on your daughter’s news! Sorry about the dishwasher news … we are so dependent on them. I am lost whenever mine is out! And sad that turkeys make you sad. 🙁 I grew up on a small farm without a lot of money, and turkeys, cows, chickens were a big part of that life … and we loved our animals! You had to, if you were committed to taking care of them day after day for years.
The stair guy was here again yesterday (yay!) making more great progress. I’m so glad we are back on his radar … I’m ready to have my house back.
I see snow in the forecast for Saturday. I want to cry now. But I won’t …

Haha, dee, no. I just popped on and saw your question. Believe it or not, every time he works on the stairs, he either puts them back together so we can use them while he’s gone, or he finishes a whole section at a time so that it is never completely out of commission. One day, he pulled down the whole thing to sand the sides with one of his floor sanders, and then he put it all back together. And now he’s staining and replacing new steps. The railing will be next, and we can use it without that. Just so sloooooowwwww…..
We did have to climb up using an overturned bucket for a couple of hours … haha! My boys thought it was great. 🙂 Me, not so much.
