   I know moms……..I love to be a woman veteran! but can be discombbobulating to explain to folks that yes, women are veterans. I served almost 11 years and could have hung on for the pension, but when I was told I was going to a far away desert place after maternity leave…………well them papers was just not typed fast enough………….after all of our issues getting pg…….no way, no how was I gonna ditch a baby on someone while I went to live in a tent….I was asking bepsy about her goals………..mine was always to be a mom.

   it was wonderful as it got me out of a hickwater town and paid for my college. I got to travel, I got to influence folks, I got to live……..and I got to meet my dh………but I always wanted kids……I am very lucky that I did not have to do and see all the stuff my dh has or other branches…..but I do like to speak up for women veterans………..

   Woo! Can’t wait for the contest! I should have lots of time to be online during Thanksgiving time.

   As expected, Michigan was cold. But it was very fun!!

   Story slam- a story slam is basically just telling a story in front of an audience. They are always 100% true and personal stories. Mine has lots of personal details so I won’t be sharing it here, but I appreciate all of the support!

    Happy Sunday ! Moms … 12 hours of good sleep .. you must have been exhausted…
    I too have been having problems with WKN and clubhouse…noticed it yesterday.. hopefully they can fix it tomorrow..
    Hey Bober ! Glad you had some fun in Michigan… Thanksgiving right around the corner… maybe you can relax and catch up in WW ! Can’t wait to see your room design…
    Usual family gathering today for spaghetti dinner and watch some football !
    CLE doing terrible but will always watch and try to support the team !
    Weather here has been so cold.. Not ready for winter !!

    hey oh
    getting dh packed up for his MI trip………food and car food and whatnot….i had a travel size thingy of tide which i passed on to him in case they need it at their hotel…….warm clothes etc etc……..chargers or whatever…..hopefully his trip will be uneventful as far as travel………

    so while he is gone, i will take apart the fridge and clean everything, as that is what i do when they go off to wherever………and bake probably……cuz me be me

    and my new book was good………if anyone reads John Sandford (detectivey type set in minnesota)……..totally enjoyed it

    When your weekend is so busy you’re glad Monday is finally here….

    Spent the weekend with my daughter’s robotics team at Purdue University in Indiana. Had a very fun tournament! We have 42 kids on our team this season and 15 mentors. A lot of parents joined us for the the competition. In all, we had over 70 in our section cheering our team on. We didn’t take home a trophy, only made it to semi-finals. But if there was an award for team spirit, we definitely would have won it.

    To those of you who have generously contributed to the upcoming contest, thank you! I did not get the witch’s cottage, so I’m very excited about trying for it. I haven’t designed any new rooms in the past couple months, so this is good motivation to start decorating!

    Evening Gymbonians!

    Moms, try some apple bread. This never makes it past the 24-hour mark in my house, lol.

    1 1/2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 c. apples, chopped
    1/2 c. vegetable oil
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg

    Preheat oven to 350. Combine all ingredients, adding apples last. (You can toss the apples in lemon juice to make sure they don’t brown while you combine the rest of the stuff.) Bake for 1 hour or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

    Oh good it isn’t expensive I was thinking I might break down and get the older gold room stuff for it. Have to see what else is on special.

    I slept through Sunday as well. Was tired after a trip to MSU for OD fencing match. The robotics team was at a competition too here in Michigan, all girls I believe. Semifinals for them as well. That is neat you were at Purdue Ruby, a friend of ours and his sister studied engineering there. It was one of the schools I was accepted to but we decided in state tuition was the way to go.
    I saw the post about the contest the other day on the fly, haven’t read past that on that thread. Thanks for organizing something Momskinz.

    I may have broken down and tried those hot chocolate oreos probably part of the reason I slept about 15 hours, anyway I can confirm they are good. Although they are basically just the chocolate cookie with both chocolate and the regular white cream.

    tmt.. you are an early bird too ! I am able to get a good hour of WW in the morning before work..catch up on the Gymbos news.. tmt… you must have been really exhausted !!
    Does anyone know if tomorrow is maintenance day in WW ? The wheel prizes are getting pretty old…
    Halloween has come and gone and NO jack o lantern seeds.. I am very
    disappointed… Maybe next year !
    On to Thanksgiving….
    moms.. OH has an apple called evercrisp.. really good .. crunchy and sweet..
