gagagee sent a SWEET SURPRISE for the blog which inspired this contest!!! She said, “EVERYONE is so warm and welcoming!” that she felt moved to donate a new Purple Dragonfly pet code!!! You MUST read the rules & follow them before commenting!

Here are the rules for the contest:
- Add “Kinzheads” to your friends list in WW.
- Include your WWid on your name in all of your comments on this post.
- All comments must be 5+ words. No gibberish, spam, counting down, etc.
- We will select a winner for the Purple Dragonfly code by comment number selected from a Random Number Generator after the contest ends.
- You must include the email address on your comments where you will claim the pet code if you win.
- You must return to follow the instructions to claim the prize if you are the winner.
- You must make one comment where you specifically include a link to your WW wish list (see instructions in “Pages” on How to Post your Trading List to make your own wish list here on Gymbo’s). We will also try to grant some wishes from Kinzheads, so wishes should be kinzpostable. π
- Contest ends Tuesday at 1 pm KT or 1,000 comments whichever comes first.

Boy, you all have been chatty while I was gone.
DH and I just got back from a belated Valentine’s Day lunch. We were both sick on V-day and had to cancel our reservation so we went today instead. We went to a new Brazilian Steakhouse where they bring meats to the table. I hate table side service (so many interruptions to the conversation) but he has been wanting to try it. The food was really good. We spent some time reflecting on how much our relationship has changed over the years, we have been together since we were 17. It does not seem possible that almost 30 years have passed!

130 momz, thanks for asking… Chickadee is still having having, ummm, female issues…dr suggested her going on a low dose pill to see if it regulates her system but it has not helped so far. She goes back to the lady dr. on March 4th for another exam and to schedule the colposcopy/biopsy. DH & I decided we should wait until after the next dr appt and see what the dr says/tells her/us before we tell her it maybe something serious.

I spend too much money on books so I reserved an e-book at the library.
Little did I know that the take out date started the day they sent me an e-mail saying the book was now available.
Sad to say I only checked my e-mail last night, so I have just 3 days to read the book.
I didn’t read anywhere that the book would be checked out without my replying.

KGaH, I checkout ebooks/audiobooks from my library and my library does the auto-checkout upon email thing too. It really bums me out when I’ve been waiting for a book to become available and miss my opportunity or have to rush through a book to complete it before it is returned. You can check and see if your library allows renewals or extended checkout times. I believe we were able to lengthen Chickadee’s checkout times because she reads really slow due to her dyslexia.

At the library I go to you can renew your books 2-3 times (I think there are some restrictions on what can be renewed though) I need to call and renew a book that I have within the next few days because I haven’t really had the time to sit down and read much of it. I do like ebooks, but usually I just looks for PDFs online and download those to my phone (probably not the most legal way to obtain books) I find that I read more if the books is on my phone because I always have it with me and am able to read a little bit of it any time I have a few minutes to spare. Definitely beats carrying a books around in my purse all day.

183 cwc, we were not able to have the testing done by the public school system because Chickadee was in private school. Chickadee had a neuropsychological evaluation done every three years from age three until age 17 by a team of doctors at a Pediatric Neurodevelopmental Clinic. The testing is extensive and takes a minimum of five hours and at least two days to complete. The comprehensive evaluation includes all aspects of a child’s development, including intelligence, language, attention, learning and visual motor skills, social and emotional areas, and academic abilities, such as reading, math, spelling and writing. Once the results are compiled the parents (and sometimes the child) meet with the team to discuss the results and appropriate accommodations, medications, therapies and interventions.
It is not necessary to have such extensive testing done to get a diagnosis of a learning disability. Chickadee has a variety of issues that began with her development in utero and we wanted to make sure we were extremely thorough so we could intervene in every area necessary to give her the best chance of a successful independent life some day.

Yes the Movie Screen is a Rare rare & does cost 40,000. I have an inside Theater with one that I saved to buy,But the one in the Drive-In Theater I got out of a Bonus box last year! It was an Awesome surprise! π

Dee – I’ve been doing ok lately. School has been boring and I haven’t been taking as many classes as I should be due to my work schedule. Might take a summer class or two, but that depends on how the work situation looks then.
Work has been… Bleh. I like my job, I really do. I’m a caregiver for a young girl with special needs and she is someone I care about a lot, but I don’t know if things are going to work out for me of they keep going the way that they are. Apparently I’m also being underpaid by quite a bit. Not sure if that’s true or not as far as the company goes, but I definitely feel underpaid.
I’ve also been dealing with a lot of personal issues lately. I had some problems a few years back that I thought had gone away (more like I was in denial and they never really went away) but they are back in full swing now.

Moms – I go back and forth with myself on the problem. Actually I think I sent you an email about it a few years back. I’ve been dealing with it (consciously and subconsciously) for longer than I had originally thought. I don feel that I need to get help for it at the time being because there isn’t much that a professional could do for me other than therapy, but I’m not a very open person irl and I don’t feel comfortable talking about these things or having my family know about it.
