Hey Zingy! I’m using chrome now with no adblock or addons and ww is working very well. Also on my laptop, which is much newer than our old desktop I use early mornings with my coffee. Catching up daily things now, and sending tmt things off her list. Not sure I have any of her accounts other than tmt5, so sending will be kind of slow. 😐

gramma, i had to try ghostery as i have 18 accounts plus babysitting one (total 19 accounts)
if i have to watch that american girl video ad one more time, i’ll go postal, lol (it floats over your screen and you can’t click out of it until 15 seconds have passed)
ghostery is not the same as an adblocker but it seems to work at least for videos today (doesn’t prevent pop-ups from tinypic.com but i can live with that)
even if you have an Intel i7 chip and good wifi connections, if you have multiple ww accounts up at the same time (like for fests or for hunting down a 10 floaty), you’ll notice things slowing down considerably without adblock.
on the upside, if you want to try to pass a strength training class at the academy with a new computer, pausing adblock and logging on to several accounts at the same time (since you’re multiplying the number of ads that are loading at the same time) might be the way to go.

after you add ghostery, there’s ghost-like icon on the upper right hand side of your browser.
1. if you click on that icon this is what you’ll see

2. if you click on the settings button (looks like a flower-shaped nut on a blue square background) then you’ll get this

3. click on options

4. scroll all the way down the same page to see the blocking options and select all the check boxes then save (this is to keep all those advertising, privacy, etc from tracking you)

you have to download and set it for every type of browser you use. it looks like there’s ghostery for IE but don’t know if it has the same setting options

i cannot convince my hon to even get our fireplace (which looks intact and unused to me) inspected so we can use it. he says it’s not cost/energy efficient compared to central heating
not that we even need it right now it’s 70 degrees during the day and 50+ at night but i think lit fireplaces are just romantic and cozy

Glad Ghostery worked for everyone. I’ve been using it for years to great effect.
If you guys didn’t know, if Ghostery is blocking something you don’t want it to block, you can click on Ghosty (the icon on your toolbar) and change the toggle switch to green so it won’t be blocked.

i priced out chimney sweeps here and alas it’s around $150-200 so i have to get him on board for it
sigh, it’s a crown i wish i could do without. i think they run around $1000 and dental insurance covers only 50% of major procedures
