honey got his resume updated last night on hard copy and linkedin. found 6 promising listings and replied to 2 of them. he also had a meeting with a recruiter. fingers crossed he finds something just as good or better than his current one before they move.

thanks, dee! he looked at houses which cost less than the down payment for houses here. but he’s a software engineer and if something happens to the job in kansas down the line, his options are very limited there. he’s better off finding another position here where we’re only 45 minutes away from silicon valley.

I saw bald eagles around lasalle IL when we drove up there,,,,i thought of you guys
we are off to opry mills today….dd and a friend are going to see the movie about alan turing with benedict cumberbatch ….I can not remember the name….I am hoping to find a cutting board…….a couple Christmases ago, we had a kitchen store at our mall and the peeps gave me a gift card. It closed and the closest one is at opry mills. I am hoping to use it all up today……….fun fun fun

For you to get continuing education credits, I think that
is when you pay.

hi all
dd drove me to the mall earlier so I could hit yankee candle with my gift card. I spent a whopping 2 dollars on Christmas clearance stuff. they sell these smelly things you can hang from your tree to give it pine scent (or cinnamon or cookie)………..they work!

almond cake
makes a 8×8 or 8 inch round cake
1 stick butter
2 eggs
1 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1 tsp almond extract
2 tbs slivered almonds
microwave butter in large glass bowl till melted. with fork, mix in two eggs. Add flour, sugar, almond extract. Grease and flour baking vessel. Pour into vessel (pretty thick) sprinkle almonds on top. Bake in preheated 325 for 45 minutes or until golden brown and knife inserted in center comes out clean. Sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired.
IT really is good and simple and had all the stuff I have on hand anyways. Not super sweet, more of a coffee cake or European dessert thing. but stinkin good
p.s. I am tempted to put dried cherries in next try. I love cherries and almonds

Hey everyone, sorry ive been out for a few days, my oldest son and myself had walking pneumonia.
While we were sick, I did some birthday shopping for my youngest sons birthday on the 23d
Yesterday, he was playing Mario Kart Double Dash on the GameCube.
So my oldest son suggested we get him a Wii U with Mario Kart 8 and some other games.
I’m trying to figure out if they’re for kids or not. It comes with a “Game pad” that is touch screen, and it doesn’t say if it comes with controllers or not, the item description isn’t the best. If I bought one, id want to get warranty just encase.
Do any of you have one?

We have wii u. You can buy extra control pads or nunchucks. It come with one that can be use to control tv or you can play it like a hand held . So if someone wants to watch tv the game can be continued on the hand held. Pretty cool actually.
