Saturday is 12.13.14 – we think a date this interesting deserves a contest! Let’s countdown to Christmas with a contest and a variety of prizes! On one of your comments – list out some of your Webkinz wishes for Santakinz, and maybe we can grant some wishes. (If it is in Kinzhead’s dock, then it’s yours ~ first come, first served! *wink*)

Hey, so I haven’t posted anything in a few months, I’ve been moving, plus trying to shop for Christmas(Anybody know where I can buy some drums for a 4 year old??) and my oldest 2 just had their exams. I love the idea of 12-13. A big thx to anyone and everyone who helped and donated. Anything is fine with me, my user is same as my username on here(SPOTHARRIS). Estore item/clothing, or a tradable/sellable thing is fine, I like a surprise. Just let me know if I need to log in and except a friend request, cause I don’t get on during weekdays unless emergency. there was a really elderly couple at the customer service desk that I was telling I would help them get to their car. They had heavy stuff and both had walkers, one had oxygen………then they called some teenage worker boy to help…………I told the lady, I just hope someone offers to help my gramma

My grandson has been here since yesterday. We made playdough ornaments for the tree and some other stuff.
The first time they stuck to the wax paper so the next time I used parchment paper and had no problems.

We’ve never made playdough ornament, I’ve heard of other dough-style ornaments though. I will remember about the wax paper vs parchment paper.
We use wax paper a lot for crafting to protect the surfaces we work on plus the no stick.

my other grandma taught me how to bake, crochet and set a table correctly and to read anything that interested me….

kinda bummed
was doing some shopping yesterday and dropped my keys somewhere and haven’t found them yet. called every shop i stopped in and one of them doesn’t even open on mondays AND tuesdays.
apparently, my car keys cost $85 to copy because it has a chip inside (that’s the “cheap” price, dealer wanted $200), car alarm remote is $80, work parking garage is $20, list goes on…

i have duplicates of some of the keys
but am worried coz they actually have to match the key to the car (i have to bring the car in) after the key is created
so if i lose the backup keys i’m using it’ll be even more $$$ for a locksmith plus emergency keys

here’s a sugar cookie recipe from cook’s illustrated:
MAKES 2 DOZEN COOKIES
The final dough will be slightly softer than most cookie dough. For the best results, handle the dough as briefly and gently as possible when shaping the cookies. Overworking the dough will result in flatter cookies.
INGREDIENTS
2 1/4 cups (11 1/4 ounces) unbleached all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon table salt
1 1/2 cups (10 1/2 ounces) sugar, plus 1/3 cup for rolling
2 ounces cream cheese, cut into 8 pieces
6 tablespoons (3/4 stick) unsalted butter, melted and still warm
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 large egg
1 tablespoon milk
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Adjust oven rack to middle position and heat oven to 350 degrees. Line 2 large rimmed baking sheets with parchment paper. Whisk flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt together in medium bowl. Set aside.
2. Place 1½ cups sugar and cream cheese in large bowl. Place remaining 1/3 cup sugar in shallow baking dish or pie plate and set aside. Pour warm butter over sugar and cream cheese and whisk to combine (some small lumps of cream cheese will remain but will smooth out later). Whisk in oil until incorporated. Add egg, milk, and vanilla; continue to whisk until smooth. Add flour mixture and mix with rubber spatula until soft homogeneous dough forms.
3. Divide dough into 24 equal pieces, about 2 tablespoons each (or use #40 portion scoop). Using hands, roll dough into balls. Working in batches, roll balls in reserved sugar to coat and evenly space on prepared baking sheet, 12 dough balls per sheet. Using bottom of drinking glass, flatten dough balls until 2 inches in diameter. Sprinkle tops evenly with 4 teaspoons of sugar remaining in shallow dish (2 teaspoons per tray), discarding any remaining sugar.
4. Bake, 1 tray at a time, until edges are set and just beginning to brown, 11 to 13 minutes, rotating tray after 7 minutes. Cool cookies on baking sheets 5 minutes. Using wide metal spatula, transfer cookies to wire rack and cool to room temperature.

NGREDIENTS
4 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature
2 cups granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
DIRECTIONS
Sift flour, baking powder, and salt into a bowl.
Put butter and sugar in the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment. Mix on medium speed until pale and fluffy. Mix in eggs and vanilla. Reduce speed to low. Gradually mix in flour mixture. Divide dough in half; flatten each half into a disk. Wrap each in plastic. Refrigerate until firm, at least 1 hour or overnight.
Preheat oven to 325 degrees with racks in upper and lower thirds. Let one disk of dough stand at room temperature just until soft enough to roll, about 10 minutes. Roll out dough between two pieces of plastic wrap to 1/4 inch thick. Remove top layer of plastic wrap. Cut out cookies with a 4-inch one-piece-shaped cookie cutter. To make an ornament, cut out a hole from the center of the neck about 1/4-inch from the edge using a straw. Transfer cookie dough on plastic wrap to a baking sheet. Transfer baking sheet to freezer, freeze until very firm, about 15 minutes. Remove baking sheet from freezer and transfer shapes to baking sheets lined with nonstick baking mats. Roll out scraps, and repeat. Repeat with remaining disk of dough.
Bake, switching positions of sheets and rotating halfway through, until edges turn golden, 15 to 18 minutes. Let cool on sheets on wire racks.

i have a great recipe for cookies if you don’t want the roll & cut – just make little circles and frost them (can add sprinkles too for kid happiness)
or if you have a cookie press, a nice spritz is kid friendly b/c you can use food coloring and make those little Christmas tree shapes …

I have my keys, house and car, separate … house stays in a zipper pocket in my purse until I need to use them (always check to make sure they are there before I leave the house) my car keys are on a carabiner (sp) clip that I attach to a metal ring on whatever purse I am using, I put the carabiner on the purse as soon as I turn off the car, when I am ready to close the car door I put my hand on the keys to make sure they are where I put them (lol) then close the door.
The spare set of keys for the car I drive have gone MIA, BOB got a spare key made for $75 … it will disarm the alarm and run the car then have to use the auto lock to reset the alarm each time.
Without this discipline I would be sunk, far enough from home and help and a diminished brain lol

it was a fluke
long story but i stuffed a bathrobe belt in my small unzipped purse, something i never do, so it was kinda full and the keys prolly fell out more easily.
i had at least 10 keys plus an owl flashlight on it so it’s still baffling that i didn’t hear it fall out.
haven’t offered a reward yet but might post $50 if i don’t hear from anyone on craig’s list or nextdoor.com
