    sounds wonderful,dee. can you send some over?

    i finally used the slow cooker for a 2nd time-as a bain marie for oatmeal. all the ingredients went into a glass measuring cup, placed the cup in the middle of the crockpot and filled the crockpot with water so it’s halfway up the outside of the measuring cup.

    woke up to a hot, creamy oatmeal and just added the fixin’s

    dee, did you churn fresh butter for the bread? wow, flashback! I think it was first grade, we put cream? in a jar and shook it til it was butter. Also did a little play on the stage about Elsie the cow. talk about wandering thoughts…:oops:

    it’s fun to see cream turn into butter by shaking the jar with clean pebbles (to help agitate)

    but way faster to use a hand blender (for impatient types like me)

    it’ll be fun to show that’s for sure.

    we just used a big weck jar with a lid (not the canning lid but the sealed one), added a few clean pebbles to heavy cream and took turns shaking it.

    it took about a couple of minutes to get whipped cream then another 3-4 minutes of vigorous shaking to get butter

    the kiddos made butter in baby food jars, but i can’t remember how except they shook it – no pebbles though …

    we made ice cream in ziploc bags this summer – it was GOOD – like ice milk

    dh and I thought crispy chunks of ham might have been good in there too (instead of bacon)

    we all ate it and I have maybe 3 servings left. One is already packed for the freezer….perfect with stinkin cold weather tho

    Yes momkinz. I actually only needed the one window I traded for. But I found the best place for the one you sent me. I got some blue tree christmas wallpaper during black friday, i think, at the estore. Its in the room I keep all my Christmas plushies. It’s almost done. I put yours in that room, its perfect. And the chimes make sound. Too cute. Thanks.

    regarding comment 96 on the previous thread, lol momsk’s year book hehe yeah BUT take comfort Dee hasn’t mentioned how mine is carved in stone tablets or painted on cave walls.

    Regarding comment 97 Dee, yes you are probably right that brontosaurus does have a unique funky taste no matter how you cook it… O_o if I recall correctly, I haven’t’ had any this millennium.

    moms- still on break! It’s actually getting a bit absurd how long my vacation is. But my bf is flying in for Friday morning so he’s going to spend a couple of days at my house and then we are both going back to school Sunday. Where we will then have a week before classes start! But it will be nice to see him again. I haven’t seen him in person in about a month!

    FFQ has a half day tomorrow, PB78 has Friday And Monday off but her science olympiad projects need some major reworking so we are losing half the weekend with the prep and actual competition event Saturday πŸ™

    find a floaty, fill out the form and hit enter to get the congrats message. refresh the same page then go back to the previous page and another snowflake will appear

    (at least that’s what’s been working for me-chant, feel free to chime in and correct me if you’ve found something easier. and hope you’re feeling better too)
