how do I make umlauts on my keyboard with a control and letter key?
dh had it set up before we got the new hard drive and does not remember how he did it.
he had it so if I hit control and a, I would get an a with an umlaut over it
I know I can go to the type and pick that letter, but when you are typing fast and furious it takes forever and I lose my train of thought…

Dunno bout control and letter but you can make an umlaut by typing 132 while holding down the alt key.

CTRL + shift + : (colon), the letter (a, e, i, o, u, y)
Not sure if you type the letter with or after the first 3.
