    I have the light from my candles(battery op ones) in the the different rooms so even if the power goes out there will be light. Plus Boo has his battery op star thing in his room. Already bought water & can goods for the season so we’re pretty good even if we loose power.

    Moms-I never thought Isaac was gonna hit us. I was/am surprised/bummed they cancelled school. When they called yesterday I actually said to the lady- Ya know it’s going to go W, I don’t think they needed to close the schools. Though, I do understand better safe than sorry. We did have storms through out the night with stuff going on & off but now we’re just getting rain.

    even when katrina hit nola it spawned 15 tornados across our state, so i guess they worried about that with you being on the side of the storm where that happens most

    when opal hit the panhandle as a cat 3 – that caused major damage in the metro atlanta area from outer bands spawning tornados

    that north west quadrant is not a good place to be …

    glad all of you are safe! i’m watching news on the typhoon warning in korea as well since my bff lives there. i just saw a Tornado warning issued for rotating cell east of Orlando metro this morning and was worried about our friends around there

    I feel like I got some of you ill..via computer Virus lol ( yeah I’m just crackin myself up over here)

    moms glad your starting to feel better..I am waiting for the dr to call back..I am better but not as good as I should be IMO. still coughing and feel raw when I breathe in.. I just want this to GO AWAY..guessing another round of meds are coming my way.

    Apparently a lot of people around here are getting bad upper respiratory illnesses…hmmm…makes you wonder.. I mean WHY this time of year? seems strange to me is all I can say.

    anyway just figured I would update you all.

    I um…went out and did some yard work today…got yelled at by my man..but honestly it felt pretty good to get out and sweat some. and the guy I have helping cut down more trees today! I am so happy cause my back yard is being reclaimed..by winter it should all be as I want it which means parties next year!!! LOL an that gazebo I have been hankering after…hehehehe

    well I’m probably close..(well maybe not) to being as ripe as RF LOL so off to wash and make myself smell like spring flowers! then nap time I think..

    I’m nearing the end of my sixth semester of university, and things are going pretty well: I’m clearing a decent grade point average, enjoying my major, and just having wrapped up my semester’s “essay alley,” wherein all my courses require a term paper or two, and getting my results back telling me that I’m doing much better than usual.

    I think the profs here specify font so that folks will not abuse it. As in some are bigger than others so a ten page paper becomes 8 pages with a bigger font…also, who knows what crud they got beforehand! imagine a pink ink with a crazy font……and YOU KNOW there are folks out there who would do it if they were not told otherwise…………silly kids….
    I did get to do part of my big anthro project in a different font…I chose a old timey newspaper type one —- like a classified government report….not sure if prof noticed, but it looked really cool.

    I had orientation today and once again they screwed me over with my schedule, but my counselor was actually being nice to me today and she went out of her way for me and pretty much redid my schedule for the entire year. I think its because she wants to get it taken care of now so she wont have to deal with my later in the year. Works for me.
    But for the 3rd year in a row they put my locker in the tech wing. They moved it last year, but this year i didnt even bother asking if they could move it because i’m only going to have 2 academic classes this year and i’ll probably only have 1 book, so i wont be going to my locker very much so it doesnt really matter.
    I’m also gonna have a fun time getting to school now because some genius thought august would be a wonderful time to tear out the main road in from of a school. Ugh.

    that is funny about the school construction….ours was tore up all summer. giant mess….we are amazed they got all the debris out before school started. they just put hay down last week on top of grass seed. but what a mess.

    Charles Gibson’s Enchilada Casserole
    (I leave out the onion – the guys LOVE it! It would make a good “dip” for a party too. I am going to have it some time for Super Bowl.)

    Casserole Ingredients:
    1 large 13-ounce package Doritos (save 2 cups for casserole topping)
    2 tbsp. onion, grated
    1 10-ounce can chili with beans
    10- to 15-ounce enchilada sauce
    8-ounce can tomato sauce
    1 and 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

    Topping Ingredients:
    2 cups Doritos
    1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
    1¼ cups sour cream

    Directions:
    1. Preheat oven to 375° F.
    2. Crumble 6 cups Doritos with your hands into a large mixing bowl.
    3. Add the onion, the chili, the enchilada sauce, tomato sauce and 1½ cups of cheddar cheese to the crumbled Doritos. Stir with a rubber spatula to combine. Place mixture into an 8½ x 11-inch oven proof casserole dish.
    4. Bake for 20 minutes.
    5. Remove from the oven. Spread the sour cream over the top of the casserole with a large spoon or rubber spatula. Top with remaining 2 cups Doritos. Then sprinkle with the 1/2 cup of the cheddar cheese.
    6. Bake for another five minutes and serve.

    curriculum night

    we were taking a buddy to football while the mom went to curriculum night b/c dad is on a business trip, football cancelled due to weather, so had to figure out if the son was still coming over to hang out with dh during curriculum night or not 🙄

    if I’m not mistaken, it’s out by there where the Children’s Miracle Network Classic golf tournament was held in ’07. We made a quick trip down so dh could go; stayed in Port Orleans at Disney. Really liked the looks of the other place, but didn’t ‘qualify’ to stay there.

    no joke, I’m salivating thinking about how good an enchilada would be right now. Usually have vegies and mill bread(my equivalent of your fruity pepples) when I’m on my own. mmm…maybe a grilled cheese? there are spinach and cheese raviolis in the freezer, but instructions saw ‘thaw’ before cooking.

    when i ran away from home – after my day at epcot, i walked around the polynesian before i went to downtown disney – it was cool, but it’s more pricey than wilderness lodge, so not sure about that …
