HOW TO REVERT TO INTERNET EXPLORER 8 WITHOUT UNINSTALLING INTERNET EXPLORER 9
Hello again everyone. I have some optimistic but cautious news about logging in to WW.
The log in issue may have been resolved thanks to the WW members across the globe who took the time to call in and tell it like it is. It’s thanks to their efforts that we may be back in to WW on a more reliable basis.
I just tried what is known as the Customer Service link in IE9 and it works !!

Will all of you who read this please try logging in AS YOU NORMALLY WOULD before Wednesday’s maintenance fiasco and tell me if you are successful. This is the Customer Service link and I THINK it’s been re-activated and there are NO ads on the log in page or down the right-hand side of the screen once you are in WW. I have so far logged into three of my accounts successfully using IE9 !! I am getting reports from WI and WA from dozens of other members who are also able to log in as they normally did before the maintenance. These members are using all of the current, major browsers in both Mac and PC and they are all experiencing success loggin in.  I hope all of you can, as well. Let me know how it goes.
UPDATE • FIREFOX USERS MAY HAVE TO CLEAR THEIR CACHE BEFORE THEY CAN SUCCESSFULLY LOG IN TO WW USING THE CUSTOMER SERVICE LINK.

Hello everyone. I am MysticZon, author of the post that appears on the front page of your site. Momskinz invited me over to help shed some light on the IE9 fiasco but, to that extent, I see she has already published my post from WI in its entirety (with my blessing), so there’s not much more to add.
However, I noticed that the links to my screenshots did not make it over in the copy/paste. In that regard, please allow me to reprint the “HOW TO REVERT TO INTERNET EXPLORER 8Â WITHOUT UNINSTALLING INTERNET EXPLORER 9” part, hopefully complete with screenshots.
1. From the main page/home page log in screen at www.webkinz.com, click the LOG IN button.
2. Press F12. This will toggle a feature in IE9 known as Developer Tools. The following window pane will pop up on the bottom of your screen.

Note the red arrow and box I have outlined in red.
3. Click the button that says Browser Mode: IE9.
This little drop down menu will appear ~

5. Click the “X†in the upper right-hand corner to close the Developer Tools window pane. Pressing F12 again will also make the Developer Tools window pane close.
How to close IE's Developer Toolbar Window Pane
IT IS SUPER IMPORTANT TO NOTE ~ That although you do not have to repeat steps 3-4 every time you want to log into another account, you will need to press F12 just before you log in to another account. I don’t know why this is the way it is, it’s just an extra step I found that is necessary or else the WW screen will revert back to IE9 and you’ll crash when you try to log in to another account.  Note that this does not affect other IE browser tabs or windows you may have open. You can still surf or continue working in IE9, even if you open a completely new browser tab or window
Thank you for allowing me the privilege to post on your site and I sincerely hope those of you who used IE9 will try this “F12 work around.” IÂ hope it will help you and your children enjoy WW once again, just as you did before Wednesday morning’s maintenance.

moms, just getting back on and adobe requested a update download. I did the update. Front page of ww, in place of the log in button, says I have to download adobe! what the heck is going on??? I restarted the laptop after the adobe download/install. I gotz gremlins after me today. 🙁

Hi gramma !! If we look at the recent fiasco after Wednesday’s maintenance, I would have to say there was no benefit to being an IE9 user !! LOL All joking aside, to go into a comparison between IE7 vs. IE9 would take me too long and, unfortunately, I’m spreading myself thin between three WW fan sites right now helping members log into WW, some for the first time since Wednesday morning (I am so relieved for those members !!).
That having been said, I am of the opinion that if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it or don’t mess around with it. LOL However, if you visit these sites, perhaps you will be able to ascertain on your own which version of IE is better suited for you.

Ahhh, I see what you mean, momskinz. Yes, I do have a WWID by the name of mysticzon. It is my very first account and goes back to Nov. 6, 2007. Funny how I couldn’t tell you what I had for lunch yesterday but I can remember the date of my first Webkinz adoption. LOL

Dee, I am in awe of what I have just learned. Seriously. For all that I know about the ins and outs of WW, you guys have just taught me something I did not know and I am speechless (make a note of that, it doesn’t happen often). I have just reused the link I helped myself too at least 15 times in the span of less than 10 minutes. It takes me longer to enter the security code than it does to generate a new ad !!
If I am out of line asking this question, please tell me to edit my post from this point forward or someone can do it for me, but I gotta ask …. does Ganz know you guys recycle the ad links like this ?? Gymbo’s blog site is a public site, surely Ganz has paid a visit from time to time and lurked ?? I mean, they’ll never hear about from me, that’s for sure …. did I mention I am in awe ?? OK, I gotta come clean. I fessed up to moms (it’s weird calling you that, but I see everyone does) in a PM over at that “other place” that until yesterday, I have never been to a blog, never posted a blog, didn’t even know if I broke your blog with my one post. When it comes to the Road Trip, I live in Canada (can I say that here ??) and therefore am unable to participate in any tour van events. I buy my virtual vans on eBay at the end of the road trip when the prices have come down from $50.00 a code to around $2.00 a code. Except one year, a very sweet angel whom you all know so well, gave me a couple of tour van feature codes and that just made my whole year.

Hi gramma. I agree, you guys are friendly and helpful and generous and all I did was tell you how to log into WW after Ganz’s maintenance fiasco.
I have a RL friend in the States who helps me out with the US only promos that take place in WW, so I was able to get some of the Mirror Mirror stuff. Aside from a few Fabled Hats and those darned elusive Magnolia Trees, I think I’m pretty much set in that department, but thank you for your offer.
Gramma, did you see my post about your IE7 vs. IE9 dilemma. Did any of it help ??

Trading ?? Ummm, I gave up trading after I was mentally scarred by WI’s GE program … and this was back in 2008 … long before Gift Coaches and training programs and that whole great big giant hoop you have to jump through. I was actually “gifted” until I gave it up … I just couldn’t take anymore !! After that, I never traded again. So yeah, that was in mid-2008. If I need something, I buy it or go without. Why, you guys have a great trading system here ??

Yeppers, Dee, I’ve been to the West Edmonton Mall. Wikipedia says it’s the largest shopping mall in North America and the fifth largest in the world, but I managed to get through the whole mall in under a day. It didn’t seem so big because most of it is recreational and hotels.
Anyway, folks, I haven’t left my computer in pretty much two days and I’ve eaten very little inbetween posts. I’m taking a break and I’ll catch up with you all later this evening. Ciao for now.

Mystic- Some people here trade some don’t–I just about never trade– mostly cuz I don’t have a lot of stuff too trade but also cuz I’m not very good at it.
