kind of strange you guys are sick. I was just telling dh last nite that I can not believe that he and dd did not get sick with back to school. usually every fall and after winter break, they catch colds…dh is worse than a preschooler sometimes with the cooties he picks up

dee – it’s so annoying! that’s why i loved our school calendar last year, the warthogs had this exact week off of school & NONE of us got sick at all! the break did us all good to get away from the cooties . . . instead, they are in school, spa got a cold, and now i’m coming down with it . . . 🙄

Hello everyone
I hate my drama class so much. According to my teacher i have 2 options. I can get on stage and do a lip sync performance with a group, or go to my counselor (who hates me) and get switched out of that class. Well, im NOT getting on stage and doing a performance, thats for sure, but i dont want to switch out of the class either. Even if i did, i wouldnt be able to because the last time i saw my counselor she was yelling at me to get out of her face and told me that she doesnt want to see me in her office again.

Krafty – I took it because i loved how the class was last year. It was an unorganized mess, but thats one of the things i liked about it. We weren’t forced to perform if we didnt want to, lip syncs were optional, and it was just really fun. But theres a different teacher this year and now its really organized and structured, you have to perform, and if you dont want to, the teacher tells you to drop the class. Hes a great teacher and one of my favorites last year, but i dont like how he runs the drama class.
He says that everyone has to be on stage. Last year, if you didnt want to perform in the lip syncs, you could work in the tech booth or help out back stage. This teacher isnt giving us that opinion. I asked him if i could work tech and he said that no one in the class is doing it and that everyone has to perform.

choco – there are stage hands, sets, directors, choreographers, all kinds of ‘roles’ in drama production – will he not let you take more of a ‘behind the scenes’??? if not, i say get on stage & knock ’em dead with the best performance EVER! ‘fake it til you make it’ 😉

Momz – its just a lip sync performance so theres just the people in the tech booth, the people working the curtains and stuff, and the performers. Apparently EVERYONE has to be on stage. Thats NOT gonna happen for me. I’ve already told him that i’d willingly take an F, but he says that thats not an option : P

choco, that sounds like a general business I took in junior high school, the old teacher let the kid float through it regardless of effort, new teacher and he really taught the class and you had to do the assignments etc..

When the class does a production for outside school hours, then you should be able to choose to not audition and do a behind the scenes part

I have glasses for near and far sighted, as needed. The screen is a distance I don’t need either to see it well. Just some days after doing all the floats and peeks and falling leaves, etc. I go to bed feeling like my eyeballs are getting sucked out of my head. Does that make sense? not sure how else to describe it.
